@MUI831: Are all his bottles 6 oz? My girl has been drinking all her 4.5 oz bottles at daycare, so I'm curious if she'd eat more if I sent more. I have a really, really hard time pumping the 13.5oz I'm sending though...
Eta: at my breastfeeding support group on Tu they weighed her before and after nursing and she consumed 4.4oz.

@78h2o: I pump and freeze all of my milk in 4oz bags. Daycare rocks in that I can just give them a gallon size ziploc full of my frozen milk and they will thaw it for me. So I don't prepare the bottles. Originally, I was telling them to give him 4 oz but then on the weekends, noted that he will take more than that. I told them to start offering him at least 5 oz. So they'll do somewhere between 5-6 oz in a bottle. Based on his sheets that they fill out on a daily basis, sometimes he'll only eat about 3.5 and the other times he takes the 6 down fast. So, I guess it just depends on his mood.
ETA: we have a scale and weigh him a lot before and after feedings. There were times where he would get 4 or so oz from BF and still be freaking out like he was hungry. We would offer him 2oz of formula or expressed BM and he would drink most of it. This is when I told daycare to offer him more.

My lo is 12 weeks, 11 lbs and change and usually takes between 4 and 5 ounces (during sessions where I weigh her). If you're nit sure how much your lo should be taking, I found this article really helpful :

My son is 5 months next week and eats 7 oz of BM 3x a day at daycare. They wanted to go to 8 oz! I had been freezing milk in 4 oz bags prior to daycare because that's what he had been eating at home. So now I'm pumping around the clock.

@lepamplemousse: oh my gosh... I'll be so screwed if she ends up needing that much at daycare! How many other feeds is he having at home?
Could they be overfeeding him there, using the bottle as a pacifier? Just wondering because he eats so much less at home... maybe he is missing you? Does he take a pacifier?

My LO is 6 months and takes 3 4.5 ounce bottles during the day (I nurse in the morning and at night) . . . sometimes she doesn't finish her bottles. Is that enough? Should I try 5oz?

My lo is 6.5 months and has 4 4.5oz bottles and one solid meal a day at daycare.

My LO is almost 7 months old. He takes whatever I pump the day before which is about 14 oz. At night and the morning, he nurses, so probably an additional 6 oz. total there. I'd guess he takes about 20oz a day of milk.

@78h2o: That's what I thought too! But my baby is a big boy (almost 18 lb at 4.5 months). The ped said that based on his weight he should be eating roughly 35 oz per day. He takes 3 bottles a day (1 every 3 - 3.5 hours) and nurses once in the morning when he wakes up and once before bedtime so I guess 7 oz isn't unreasonable. And he's more active at daycare too. But I've started asking daycare to make the last bottle smaller so he'll take more from me at night.

@chopsuey119: I didn't realize that either! I'm gonna bug ya now when I have baby questions. Haha!
