I know there is the calculation thingy on Kelly Mom (and based on that, my LO should be eating 3.5ish ounces per feeding-she routinely eats 4), but yesterday she downed 5 ounces of pumped breastmilk, and I am wondering what some of your averages were?

Good question, my LO is 4.5 months too and she will be going to my moms in a few days for a few hours and it would be nice to know how much milk to send.

@Bao: Today when I pumped, I put the milk into bottles at 4.5 ounces instead of just 4 ounces. Feeding her 5, routinely, seems like a bit much, but then again, maybe not? Just when I think I have something figured out, then I don't!

My pedi said that there should always be a teeny bit left over in the bottle when LO is done, so if she's finishing 4.5 oz completely, I would try giving her 5.

I send between 12-16 ounces of breastmilk to the daycare daily. He eats what's sent usually 4 ounces at a time. I would love to know how much he's eating when he's feeding with me like a breastmilk boob meter, so I know that he's getting enough during the day while I'm at work.

My LO drank about 4-5 oz. when she had a bottle around that age. I remember us switching to the bigger Avent bottles around that time, so she drank more than 4 oz. most of the time.

@Hilsy85: Good advice! Every once in a while, with 4 ounces there is a little left over, but usually the bottle is empty! Then maybe I should bump her up to 4.5 ounces for a day or so, and then to 5 if she is still finishing them?
