I was on mat leave for 6 months and didn't start pumping regularly until the last 2 months, I was able to pump about 3 extra ounces a day. I had about 80-100 oz frozen when I went back but really all you need is one day's worth! Though having a stash is awesome of course and takes some of the stress of pumping away.
I have only really needed to dip into my stash in the past 5 months due to illness/random days when I didn't get all my pumps in but I still have about the same amount in the freezer.
ETA: I feel like what I had was just right. I read about people have hundreds of ounces and I feel like it'd be stressful to manage that amount and make sure I rotated through it properly! But I had enough that I was never worried about using some here and there and now we're about at the year mark so we've made it to my pumping goal. Though I don't think girl's gonna let me pump wean anytime soon...

I had 250 oz and it was too much. It was a nice safety net but I definitely didn't need that much! It did allow me to drop pumping sessions earlier and just use milk from my stash (I went down to one pumping session/day around 10.5 months), so that part was nice.

I had about 100 oz. I wish I had had more. I ended up getting really sick when she was 4 months old and blew through most of it because 1) I was on non-BF safe medication and 2) my supply dipped because I was so ill.

Maybe 40 oz? I had major supply issues though. We supplemented with formula so I only used the freezer stash if it was getting ready to "expire".

I had enough for 2 days - so 30 oz? It was perfect for me. I was mostly able to pump for the next day, but for the first month I had to add in extra pumps in the morning and sometimes evening. So I guess it might have helped to have more so I didn't have to do that?

With LO1 I had about 150oz but blew 100 of it on trying to get LO to take a bottle.
With LO2 I had about a day and a half's worth, 25oz or so? I was nervous so I emailed my boss and told him that I'd like to be informed of any upcoming travel plans 2 weeks in advance. That assured me I wouldn't hear on my first day that I had a 5 day trip. I've been fine operating with a much leaner stash now.
