So far I've POAS 6 times. I've got 5 tests left. I doubt I'll let those go to waste.

With dS, 6? All in like a two or three day span. Just because I didn't believe it!
This time, I took 3 frer and 2 digital! Used over the course of a week and half or so to see "progression."

When I was actually pregnant? Just two and betas. Before that I took hundreds probably. It was a long 2.5 years. I'm sure you get it!

I think I did around 25 with my first (I was seriously overstocked) and then an unspeakable amount with my second, but only because I was having a lot of bleeding so was constantly checking to see if the lines were darkening.
pomelo / 5607 posts
I had at least 20 cheapies, and at least 4 frer's, and I took them all.
grapefruit / 4085 posts
I took 3 - a cheapie, then a digital later that day and another digital a few days later just to be certain the first two were right.

With dd - around 8?
This time - 4... Once I got my BFP I stopped, whereas last time I kept testing and testing

After IVF, I POAS just once before my first beta. Then because of the other betas I knew were coming, I didn't feel like I needed to POAS.

3 or 4 with DS but with my two losses about a dozen (at least!)
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
Dozens. I had been trying for over a year with a recent miscarriage, and I needed reassurance. Most of them were the cheap wondfos, though.

Over the course of 4.5 years...I'm sure I could overflow a landfill. After IVF, just two I think.
pomegranate / 3577 posts
I had never heard of watching the line darken. I think only one, maybe two with E, and two with H. (Because the first was a blue dye, and I didn't trust it.)
persimmon / 1095 posts
One, I was pretty sure before hand and just needed it for the doctor to be referred to an OB.

With DD1, three. Two cheapies and one FRER.
With DD2, six. Five absolute garbage cheapies, and one FRER.
I stopped once I had positive FRERs.
eggplant / 11824 posts
Just 2 - one to test when I realized my period was late and a digital about 20 minutes later to confirm. Never saw the point in taking them after that, different strokes for different folks, I guess.
clementine / 812 posts
Three: The first BFP on a dollar store test, the second on a FRER to confirm, and the next day the third, because I had one more FRER and I just had to see it again!

One a day for at least 10 days, probably more. I had 2 MCs previously and wanted the reassurance I kept them all well after DS was born, too!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
Just the two that came in the pack each time. I had no idea people kept testing after that. I figured it's positive, we're good. It never occurred to me to keep testing.
persimmon / 1481 posts
With DD, only two. They gave me such anxiety worrying about the lines darkening so I stopped and just got betas.
nectarine / 2784 posts
Oh gosh I didn't actually keep count but a lot! About 10 each pregnancy, but that's probably low balling it. Not counting all the bfns.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
Not counting , I probably took 6-7 with my first loss, 2-3 with my second loss and 4 with this little guy.
clementine / 911 posts
I took 2, one when I found out, and one several days later when AF was due to make sure it was darker. When I went in for my first appointment, the nurse seemed surprised that I'd only taken 2.

2 with lo1. So far, 3 with this pregnancy...will prob do another FRER and a digital in a week or so for reassurance!
pomegranate / 3355 posts
I never knew this was a thing. I did one cheapie got the positive and then the next morning did 2 (another cheapie and a frer) and that was it. So 3 total. I've never heard of poas to see the line darken....
pear / 1586 posts
A seriously embarrassing number. I started spotting the day after my BFP, so I basically took a test (weeks estimator, so really expensive! I am stupid but I was paranoid and wanted to see those weeks go up) every day until my first ultrasound.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
Erm, maybe 5? I had some that I had bought while visiting the US, but tests in Europe were seriously expensive, so I only bought one digital there.
