LO is 5 months old and we are still up at least 3 times per night sometimes more. She eats every 2-2.5 hours on average once in a while Ill get a 3-4 hour stretch and some nights Ill only get a 1.5 hour break. I never breastfed a baby this long as I pumped and supplemented with my son Is this normal? Is everyone elses exclusively BF baby doing this?

DS is 4 months and we're still getting up 2-3 times a night to nurse. Sometimes, he's up every hour - OMG!!!! At his 4 month wellness check up, the pediatrician said 2/3 of the baby STTN and 1/3 do not. There's nothing wrong with those in the 1/3 pool as some babies really do still need to eat. He said 6 months would be a better benchmark and a good time to let them CIO if they're still waking up frequently at night. We're going to try and do some sleep training soon any way though. I'm so exhausted!!!

We EBF and my LO is almost six months and we've pretty much always had at least two wake ups. A handful of nights she's only had one. Right now we are in some kind of regression or teething and she is up 3+ times a night.

Mine is six weeks and we have 2-3 wake ups a night. During her growth spurt she got up 5 or 6 times and it. was. awful.

She's 3 1/2 months old and wakes up twice a night. It was once a night for a long time, but then the 3-month growth spurt hit and it's been twice a night since. She's also sleeping later, though (she was waking at 6 for the day. Now she wakes at 7/7:30) so twice in a 12-hour period isn't terrible.

By the time I went back to work at 3 months, we were down to about 3 wakings per night (bed at 8, up at 11, 2, 5) It gradually did go down though.

We were at 2 wakings at 4 months, then went to 4-5 with the 4 month sleep regression.
At 6.5 months, we sleep trained and DD STTN. For a week. Then we went on vacation and she started waking 3-4x. Once we were back at home, her sleep gradually got better until she STTN again. Just in time for another vacation. Back to 3/4 wake ups/night.
By 8 months, we were down to just one wake up (sometimes two).
At 9.5 months we sleep trained again - last night was night 7. She started STTN (7:30-ish to 7:00-ish) on night 4.
So, yeah. It takes a really long time. And people who say that their EBF babies STTN before about 7/8 months are either lucky or LIARS.

My wee girl is thirteen months and wakes once or twice but wakes for comfort rather than hunger so often goes 9-10 hours between feeds at night.
We haven't done any sleep training and nurse to sleep and I believe that night waking is normal.
If it helps at all I have read an article / study on the pubmed website that 65% of babies are still waking during the night at six months.
@septca: I have a friend with an EBF baby who has been sleeping 12-13 hours straight since three months!!!

13 months, and 0-2x a night. It sucks--I am really ready for him to consistently STTN.

9wks and S has sttn (10-12hrs) for just over a week. Will be interesting to see how long she can keep it up!

That sounds about where we were for sleep then. So exhausting. It does get better. DS is 8 months now and about 3 weeks ago started getting up once. There are still some nights that are twice but at least he is getting better.

3.5 months 0-1 wake-up. Worried about the 4 month sleep regression though!!

Mostly zero wake ups since 12 weeks. Occasionally a tooth or major milestone will cause a wake up or two. Overall we've been very lucky.

My son would wake up in 3 hr increments until he could crawl.

LO is 3 months and we're up on average 2-3 times a night. More on bad nights, ughhhh.

Ugh. I'm in the 4 month regression right now (I EBF) and the longest stretch we get is 3 hrs. Usually its around 2 hours or less. Exhausted? Yes!

5.5 months and has never STTN. We have about 3-5 wake ups a night.

I BF until 13 months. DS was a TERRIBLE sleeper and did not STTN until just after 12 months. The whole first year he would wake up 2-4 times per night.

My bf 5mo is up once around 8:30 after a 9hr or so stretch. However, I give her veggies and a 2oz bottle of pumped bm before her last nursing (I nurse her to sleep) so I think that helps keep her full, especially the bottle since she nurses to sleep sometimes she doesn't get full before bed if I don't give her a couple oz.

My LO is 7.5 months and wakes up twice. Before we sleep trained at 6 months and then again at 7 months (after two teeth came in), he was waking every two hours! Although waking twice is a huge improvement, I am starting to feel like I just need to accept that I will be getting little sleep for a long time (which I suppose is just acknowledging being a parent now)!

LO is just over 3 months. I put her to bed around 8:30 and she usually wakes once around 5 am or so and then goes back to sleep until 7:30/8am. There are nights she sleeps right through. Like @Babymats: I'm starting to worry about the 4 month regression but right now consider myself very, very blessed.
