Say your supply didn't meet the demand of your LO. What percentage of their intake would have to be breastmilk before you deemed it not worth it?

We've always had to supplement, and LO takes a little over half of her food via formula, so it is about 40% breastmilk and 60% formula. In the first couple of weeks when I was so depressed and anxious about my meager milk supply, I saw a sign in the lactation consultant's office that said "Every Ounce Counts"

That has been my mantra ever since. Anytime I get bummed out that I could never exclusively breastfeed, I remind myself of that phrase.

I think my milk supply would have to get really, really low, like down to maybe her only getting 10% of her nutrition from breastmilk for me to quit before a year.

She may not get exclusively breastmilk, but she gets a good portion of it every single day. And while we have to be apart during the work week, I love being able to think about her during my pump breaks, and I hope she feels loved drinking my breastmilk at daycare. It keeps us connected.
