LO is 17 mo and just started daycare at a small home-based daycare. I'm having a really hard time with it and am feeling like I am going to have to compromise on certain things that are important to me.
For example - with food at home, LO eats whatever we eat and if he doesn't want it, then he's done eating (in other words, I don't give him something else I know he'll eat). He eats well so this isn't really an issue, but there are times where he will eat one part of dinner and won't eat anything else and that's fine with me. I don't want to be a short order cook and I don't want food to be a fight. I feel like the daycare provider is so concerned with the kids eating enough that handling food this way might be an issue. Food is really important in my life so I really don't want to compromise my preferences.
I want to be realistic and understanding that I can't have everything the way I want it, but I'm curious what others compromise on with daycare.
