The past few weeks, I have been pumping about 4 ounces between both breasts at a time. This morning I was able to pump 7 ounces, and was quite proud! lol!
How much do you generally get when you pump?

Well I pump only about 1-2 hours after LO goes to bed and get about 2-3oz total. If she misses a feeding I can get about 4oz combined.

I pump twice a day, around 10 a.m. and then 3 p.m. How much I pump depends on if LO sleeps through the night or not. If he sleeps through the night I pump 7 ozs, if he doesn't I pump 4 - 5 ozs at my 10 a.m. pumping session. My second pumping session is around 4 - 5 ozs. I also breastfeed LO in the morning before work and when I get home from work right before he goes to bed.

@ninja ooh, 7's good!! I pump 4x a day (6 hours between pumps) and average about 8.5oz a session. That has stayed pretty steady since I started exclusively pumping.
btw I love your avatar so cute!!

If I pump in the morning off one side while LO eats on the other, I get about 3oz. If I pump both sides after he eats, I get 1.5-2oz total. I'm a very infrequent pumper though...only when I know I'll be out of the house for a feeding.

well i only pump once a day now and olive is 14 months old, so I get about 4 ounces.

It would depend. The first morning pump, I could get anywhere between 6 and 13 oz from both breasts combined, but only get about 5-8oz at night.

I only pump after a feeding to empty the breast..so 1oz. But I add it all up at 8PM for his bedtime bottle (4.5oz).

I pump 3x a day (9, 12, 3) and usually get 4-5oz total each time. On occasion I may get 6oz total but that is rare.

I pump 3-4x a day. In the morning I get anywhere from 5-9 oz depending on whether or not LO work up in the middle of the night or how much she nursed before I pumped. For the rest of the pumping sessions I average 4 oz.

Thanks for all the input ladies! Seems like anywhere from 3-6 is about average, so I'm not so worried. Yesterday my little guy ate 16 ounces while I was at work but I only pumped 12, so I was a little concerned. I hope he's just going through a growth spurt.
@mrs. wagon: 8.5 oz, dang! That's awesome! Gotta love beagles!
@BabyBoecksMom: 13 oz takes the cake! I would have to switch bottles to get that much in!
@TurtleDoves: Does your baby sleep well after a bedtime bottle? I'm thinking about doing that with my LO...he's 7 weeks and is waking every 3 hours to eat. (And, what can I say, I can't resist a cute beagle!)
@purrpletulips: I pump 3x per day too, at 3 hour intervals, so good to know that you are seeing pretty much the same output.

@ninja: DS typically eats 12oz while I'm at work so I just keep up with him. On days when he eats 16oz I am usually able to pump one time between his evening and bedtime feeding which makes up the difference. Although your little guy is still eating at 3hr intervals perhaps try and add pumping session in between and that might help make up the extra needed.

@purrpletulips: thanks for the suggestions! I've only been back at work a couple of days, and he's eaten 12 oz, then 16 oz, so I'm not sure what his norm will be yet...but I'm kinda hoping it's 12, so I can keep up!

@ninja: something we do that may or may not work for you given your daycare/commute situation. DS usually finishes a bottle around 3:30 so I've asked our care provider to not feed the fourth bottle (which would put him at 16oz for the day) unless he is absolutely inconsolable. Since he gets picked up around 5 and I am home to nurse by 6 giving him that fourth bottle around 5 makes me have to pump and while I will do it I prefer to nurse him whenever we are together. This works for us now but wouldn't have worked with DD because she was in a daycare setting and they were much more strict with the bottle every so many hours scenario.

My LO eats 17-18 oz everyday at daycare, but she's there for 10 hours. They usually give her last bottle at 3:30 or 4:00 and I nurse her as soon as I get home 1-2 more times. She sleeps through the night and when I wake up to pump I can get around 12oz. I'm trying to stop pumping in the middle if the night though because I want to sleep!
