Is this for partial day or full day? If it's full day, I think it looks like a great deal!

Is that for full day? Is it run like a school with built in vacation weeks or more like a daycare where they just close for holidays? I guess since I live in the state with the highest child care costs in the US it doesn't look like that much. Here the average cost for full time infant care in a regular center I believe is 15,000 per year, or $1,250/ month. $1,445 for a school you love doesn't seem that crazy to me.

ETA: I just looked up the one nearest to us, they don't have an infant daycare, but the preschool from 8:30-11:30 M-F is $6,280 for the school year and they run on a regular school calendar, so vacation weeks and no summers.

I don’t believe that any of the Montessori programs in our area offer infant programs; I think they all begin at 3-4 years old and their prices are between $980-1350/month but that is only for part time care. None of them offer full time M-F, 8-6 care. They offer 5 day a week 8-12 or a max of 3 days a week for 8:45-5pm.

To compare, the infant rate at our daycare is just under $1400/month.

@me0wmeeh: We live in the same city! Yeah, I've been told countless times to hurry up and sign up for LePort now while I'm preggers to get on a waiting list! It's no joke around here!
My ex-boss went on the waiting list at 6 months preggers and got her son in at 2 1/2 y/o.
DH's co-workers have had similar problems too... have to drive to different a Montessori across the city!

The prices sound actually lower than I had thought? People were telling me to expect $2K/mo?

Infant: Not listed, but they only take 6 babies
Toddler: $1500 (from 8:30am-3pm. A full day is $1750)
Preschool/Kindergarten: $1310

And I live in the midwest!!! Where everything is ultra cheap! Kindercare is $300/week here for babies, which is VERY expensive for daycare in this area!

@me0wmeeh: I definitely need to do my homework then. I don't even know what the NAEYC is? It's been on my to-do list for over a month to go check out the schools. I sent an email inquiry to 2 and never heard back - DH said that demand is way over supply so they don't even need to call me back.

The Montessori school near us doesn't have an infant program, just 3-5 year olds and it's $7,400 for a half day and $16,400 for a full day (and full day ends at 3:45 p.m.)

I think that is reasonable. We spend more than that on daycare.

I put LO's names down there too and its impossible to get in!! We must live really close to each other!

I looked at a Montessori school in Beverly Hills. It was around $1400/month.

Speaking of LePort, it was actually pretty easy for us to sign-up and get in (but we ended up at a different school). They don't have the kind of waiting list that The Montessori Schools of Irvine have. They're not "all-inclusive" the way that the Montessori Schools are though - that's why I really liked the Montessori Schools. LePort has more hidden charges, but I guess it allows parents to really pick and choose what they're willing to pay for.

Wow. Ours accepts 2 years old for Mon - Fri 9 -12, and the tuition is $600 a month.

In my Houston suburb it is $840/month for a toddler, $750/month for early childhood, and $1k/month for elementary.

that is really reasonable, it is so much more costly in NYC.

@brownie: I'd love to schedule a meetup with everyone, but with @shopaholic and I both due within the next month... its probably going to be tough to do in the near future! We will definitely have to do one though. Mrs. Checkers is also from the OC!
