LO is 7 months and I think we're going to start looking for a sitter.
How old was your LO when you first left them with a hired sitter?

Um... probably like 7 months, I think. Our sitter is the daughter of a family friend though.

4 months. We interviewed several women from a nanny service and we used for about a year and a half.

Not yet. She's nine months. And I'm a big wuss.

We hired someone when Chloe was 6 months, but I work from home so she wasn't by herself.
She was closer to 8 months when we had the sitter watch her while we went to dinner.

I still haven't and my LO is 21 months. We will probably use a hired sitter (SIL's niece) for a date night this month.

4 months--last week. It felt like a big moment! But it is GOOD. I feel less bad if she is fussy than I did when I left her with family--because she is getting paid!

15 months - before that when we wanted a sitter, we had one of our parents watch him, but at 14 months old we moved far away and our only option is a paid sitter here. We actually go out more now that we pay someone than before!

we have never left LO with a hired sitter. Only at the daycare center or with grandparents. Maybe I'm weird but I dont feel comfortable with strangers being in my home when I am not there

Ours will be no more than 3 months -- my DH has a big work function about 3 months after my due date that I HAVE to be at, and it's definitely a no-babies-allowed thing. I'm already nervous about it! I'm hoping we can get one of our really nice neighbors to come over that night, as opposed to some random teenager or college student...but it's still too far off to really plan.

B was around 7 months when we left him with a babysitter for the first time.

LO is ten months and we haven't yet. I'm very lucky that I have two really close friends who often beg to babysit (for free) because they want to hang out with my LO.

He was 12 months. We hired the younger sister (high school senior) of one of our daycare teachers.

The end of this month will be the first time leaving her with someone other then family. She will be 7.5 months. But we hired a day care teacher since it is all afternoon and night, while we go to a wedding.

6 weeks old, lol. I hired a sorority sister of mine to babysit every week so DH and I could play in a company softball league. We hire her for date nights from time to time.

4 months. It was our first date night since the birth and we used one of my girlfriends.

He's 13 months and it hasn't happened yet, since my parents ask (read: demand) if they can watch the boys every weekend.

14 months and we still haven't...it's usually MIL or SIL.

We are at 12 months and haven't had a need yet, both grandparents still beg to watch. If/when we need it, we have 2 cousins that are on call to do it, I'm waiting until she's a bit older.
