And why did you transition when you did?
We're not looking to change anything right now, I'm just curious when you moved from the crib and why.

I'm thinking about it now at almost 19 months. We cosleep and taught her how to slide down off the bed so I think she could handle her own bed. I think it would more for naps so that she knows where to if she's tired and she can get in and out by herself.

I had always planned on converting to a toddler bed when he attempted to climb out of the crib. He's almost 2.5 years old and has never once tried, so I still have him in there.
I will probably do it soon, though.

Toddler rails at 20 months, I think? Twin bed just before he turned 2.

I think once she tries to climb out, or around this fall maybe...I feel like she wouldn't stay in her bed so I don't think I'm ready for that challenge just yet.

We just converted the crib to a toddler bed at 23 months. It has gone amazingly well with no issues. Our crib is one that you just take the front rail off.

33 months because we needed the crib for baby sister. He would have gone on happily sleeping in the crib for quite some time. He never tried to climb out.

Queen-size floor bed at 15 months. Need the crib for baby sister, and wanted the transition to be early enough so she didn't resent the baby for stealing 'her' crib.
It went surprisingly well! Although, it makes me sad to watch her sleeping on the monitor, and see how tiny she is in the huge bed. I just want to go in and cuddle her.

DS - age 3 because he was climbing out of the crib
DD - age 3 - just because!

Never tried to climb out but DH just wanted to see how she would do in a toddler bed and then a big kid bed. She did fine with both transitions so there was no need to keep her in the crib. Now the crib will be ready for baby #2
Converted to toddler bed around 20 months
Moved to big kid bed around 2 years 2 months

I'm so thankful we don't have a climber! She seems perfectly happy in her crib so I see no reason to change.

DD is 22.5 months and has never tried to climb out so we still have her in the crib. I am no willing to tempt fate by making the switch just yet!

17 months. we need the crib for the next baby and wanted to do it a couple months beforehand. it went really well, no transition issues!

T has never tried to climb out and he's almost 2.
We are moving in 3 months when he is 27 months and I don't know if we will move him to a big boy bed then. However, his baby brother or sister will be arriving when he is 31 months old and I suspect we will want him fully transitioned by that time.

19 months- twin mattress on the floor. Added the bed base at 30 months. He was attempting to climb out (hadn't quite gotten there but close), and I was due with Baby Brother a month later, and we wanted to re-use the crib.

@mediagirl: I read this as "How old was your lo when they got a big head"
No big bed for a while. She is in her toddler bed, which we switched to at 23 months.

Liam doesn't climb out of his crib yet, at 25 months, so we will wait until it becomes an issue. I'm hoping we can make it close to 3.

He just turned 2 and he's still in the crib. He's actually been able to climb in and out for months, but he's such an active sleeper, I'm nervous to switch him out of a fully closed in bed. I'm interested in when everyone did switch, though, so subscribing!

We're going to wait until she's climbing out or later this fall. When we travel for Christmas, it will be much easier for her to be able to sleep in a bed at our parents' houses. We will skip a toddler bed completely.

We transitioned to a floor bed at 16 months. LO was starting to climb in the crib, and LO#2 is due soon, so we figured now is the best time!

We switched M to a toddler bed (convertible crib) around 20 months. Her sleep was bad and transitions were horrible. We had nothing to lose! Transitions have been much better since.
She just turned 2 and we'll be switching her to a twin in the next month. She's ready and we need the crib for the new baby. We want as much time possible between switching her to a twin and new baby arriving.

Our crib doesn't convert and we're skipping the toddler bed. We're going to move houses in August so the plan is to get her a bed and set it up in her new room with her crib and let her make the transition when she's ready. She's currently 19 months.

We just moved LO at 3. We have a new one coming in a few months and need the crib, so wanted him to have time to adjust to the new bed so he didn't feel like the baby invaded his space.

Lo#1 was at 18 months because there was no keeping her in the crib any more. Lo#2 was at 20 months because we got the kids bunkbeds and putting her to bed in the crib was becoming the worst part of every day.

DS transitioned to the toddler bed at 2.5 and the big bed at 4.
DD transitioned to the toddler bed at 21 months and will probably be in a big bed by 3-3.5.

We moved LO to a toddler bed at 15 months. She will be around 21 months when the new baby comes, so we wanted to transition well ahead of that. When she moved to the 1 year old room at daycare they no longer napped in cribs, they used cots, so it was an easy transition for us.
