Hey bees!
I am planning to take my LO out today and want to give him breastmilk in a bottle rather than breastfeed in public as i have finally been having some success with pumping and saving milk.
I have a bottle in my fridge now and am wondering what is the best way to serve it? Should i warm it a bit before i go out and then serve it when needed? or let it go to room temperature on its own while i am out and serve it when ready?
or there other ways to do this that i am not aware?

I'd wait to take it out until you leave. It will warm up some at that point, then you can run the bottle under hot water (if you can find a restroom!) before feeding to take the temp up a little more

I always leave it cold and get a cup of hot water somewhere and put the bottle in to warm it.

@PurpleUnicorn: We always just took it out of the fridge when we left and as we walked around it warmed up to room temp and she drank it that way.
Where are you going? If you are going to the mall or a restaurant you can ask them to bring you a cup of really hot water (like for tea) and set the bottle in the glass of hot water.

@Thehistoryofus: i had thought of asking for a cup of hot water as i always saw my sister do that. but i am going to see a movie and he may need a feeding during. I guess i will check how the milk feels before i go in the movie and see if i need to warm it a bit beforehand.

We try to get a restaurant to give us some hot water. A bathroom sink works too, but kind of skeeves me out. LO will drink it cold too if needed.

Sometimes if I know LO will need to eat while we are out I pump right before we go. Since fresh breast milk can be out or a few hours I just bring the freshly pumped milk and give it to her when she's ready.

If I am going to a restaurant, I order a cup of warm water and I put the bottle in there to warm t up.

I have a Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle warmer that stores boiling water.

i used to take a thermos filled with hot water, and then heat the bottle in the thermos cup. works great since we were usually somewhere like the park where there was no hot water.

We also have the Tommee Tippe Travel warmer - highly recommend it! It's one more thing to carry but it's so convenient.

I do the same as Mrs. Bee. I do this at home, too. I keep warm water in a thermos all day long so that I can warm bottles super quick.

When I was on a work trip in Portland this year, my DH and LO came with me and went sightseeing. To warm up the bottle, he used the Tommee Tippee travel bottle warmer. He just filled it up with hot hot water before he left the hotel and he would have hot water to submerge the bottle in to warm it up. It worked really well for him.

@PurpleUnicorn: I carry a bottle warmer with me when i go out so I just look for an outlet and warm it up. I have the first years brand and it doesnt require hot water

these are all great suggestions, thanks! i will look into this tommy teepee travel thing. hopefully i can get it at babies r us as i still have some gift certificates to use up.
@Mrs. Bee: i also like the thermus idea! better than having to ask for a cup of warm water wherever i am!

@PurpleUnicorn: Yes, it is basically a thermos with a cap that you can heat bottles in. It is kinda big but very convenient!

I take LO's milk bottles and put them in the diaper bag. When she's ready for them, they're usually warm enough. She'll take cold bottles too, so if they're chilly, it's not a big deal.

I usually ask for a cup of hot water wherever I'm going. If there's no place for hot water (or a hot tap) then I warm it under my arm or between my legs. Haha!
Sometimes I let it come to room temp but it tends to get chunky so I prefer to keep it cold until it's time to feed.

@PurpleUnicorn: btw, a movie theatre is the best place to nurse in public. Its dark and everyone is focused on the screen. 
But yes, cup in hot water.

I bring a Foogo wide mouth thermos. I either bring my own hot water or ask for some at a restaurant. If I forget the thermos I will warm the bottle under a hot tap.

I do the same thing as @Mrs. Bee, just take a thermos of hot water with me and stick the bottle in that.

I put it in the diaper bag cold and let it get to room temp on its own.
