Oh no! I'm so sorry!!

I didn't have mold growing in my pump parts, but I did see a TON of nasty black stuff in LO's sippy cup part once I'm religious about cleaning it, but I guess there was one time I didn't dry it properly. I was so grossed out and couldn't believe she might have ingested some of it

@lindseykaye: I DON'T KNOW!! So many stupid little parts to clean and dry! Definitely go take a close look at all the parts, especially if there's anything that might not get properly dried. I'd post up a picture of what I found, but you might not be able to hold down your last meal :T

I use the microwave sterilizer bags for just that reason. Even if they don't get washed well enough I know the ick has been killed. So sorry you have to dump! heartbreaking!

@lindseykaye: I use my pinky to clean inside those stupid membranes. I had the same issue as you - DH washed my parts once and didn't do a good enough job. I didn't see any mold, but after pumping I noticed a smell, and all the parts smelled sooo badly, like rotten milk

That's terrible! Can you explain where you found the mold exactly? I want to make sure to really wash those parts well! What kind of pump?

I guess that's one plus to Dh never washing my parts. I kind of dont trust him to be careful enough.

@lindseykaye: thanks. I have a medela and I don't think it has an equivalent part. I always take the whie membrane off to clean it. I only pump a couple of times a week so I also feel I need to be extra careful since I got longer between uses.

@lindseykaye: Yeah, I had the same problem and a Q-tip is really the only way to clean it.

I'm so sorry! I found mold growing inside our hospital bulb syringes (I cut it open to see) and I was shocked. I had been using those for months to suction out my kids noses. And mouths!! I only use the nosefrida now. I hate mold.
