I left my bottles at home today. The Rite-Aid near my office doesn't carry pumping supplies (actually, the person I talked to had never heard of it), and I'm without my car. My husband will bring me something on his lunch, but in the meantime, my boobs are killing me. What's the best way to pump and dump? Stand over the bathroom sink?
I'm kicking myself.

@avivoca: Can you buy another type of bottle at Rite Aid and just hold it under? Not as convenient as one that connects to the pump, but better than wasted milk!

Do you have water bottles or baggies that you could pump into? Or a cup that you can hand express into just to relieve the pressure.

Sad! I'm sorry about that. I second @lawbee11's suggestion - even a Tupperware container might work to save some of the milk!

You don't have to P&D! You can use a rubber band to attach a plastic baggie (do you have any milk storage bags with you??) to your flange and pump into that! Later, you can just transfer the milk to bottles.

Don't pump and dump! Do you have a Medela pump? All regular sized bottles fit it. I had this happen and ran to the store and bought cheapo evenflo bottles and pumped into them.

@septca: I don't have any storage baggies with me. My husband is going to bring me those to pump into and have as back-up.
@lawbee11: @redsmarties: My pumping setup isn't really good for that (I pump in a storage closet with archival materials and would have to balance bottles/cups/tupperware on my knees. But I'm going to go raid the kitchen now to see what I can come up with.

@travellingbee: I've got an Ameda. Do other bottles work with those flanges? I've attached one of my glass Evenflo's to it, but I don't have them anymore.

@avivoca: Most bottles are standard, so you should be able to use any bottle they have at Riteaid.

Update: My husband gets the hero award. He took an early lunch to bring me bags when Rite Aid didn't have them. I feel kind of like MacGuyver with my rubber bands.
