DD will be 5 weeks on Wednesday. She had only eaten from the breast until mid-week last week when DH gave her a couple bottles of expressed milk (one per day for two days) to get her used to drinking from a bottle, as we had to go to a wedding on Saturday. My mum babysat and I came home between the ceremony and reception to feed her, but then missed two feedings while I was at the reception (DH was the best man and we sat at the head table, I kind of *had* to stay for a good chunk of the reception), so she got two bottles that night. Then, yesterday afternoon, I had a couple errands I had to run and she was getting fussy so DH took her home and gave her another bottle. All this to say, she's had a lot of bottles in the last few days.

As of yesterday, it started taking her forever to latch. Like, she opens her mouth, but then when I try to get her to latch she just...doesn't. She latches eventually but it takes numerous tries and we both get frustrated. This has never happened before, so I assume it's related to the bottle feedings?

My strategy for now is to eliminate bottles and just BF for every feed. Anything else I should be doing? When do you think it's safe to introduce a bottle again? I had hoped that not introducing a bottle until one month would mean there wouldn't be any issues switching back and forth, but apparently not.....
