What type of icepack do you use when you transport milk? And do you place it at the bottom of the bag? Thats what I was planning to do but I was told that since warm air rises the ice pack should be at the top of the cooler bag.
I have two enfamil ice packs that I got from the hospital and my pediatrician, Do I need to buy the contoured ice pack as well?

How far is your commute? My milk is only out of the fridge for maybe 30-40 minutes total (by the time we pack it in the morning till its put in the fridge at daycare). We use a small ice back that sits between the bottles. I don't know that I would buy a special contoured one though.

I just use the bag and ice pack that came with my pump. I've had bags of frozen milk stay frozen in there for 4 hours.

I wouldn't worry about it too much for just that short period of time. I found some thin ice packs from target (2/$2) and they are thin so they don't stay cold really long but do the job

I usually put an ice pack in between the bottles AND on top. And they've stayed cold for a while. I use the one that came with my Medela PIS pump and it works really well!

i used to put my pumped milk in the free enfamil bag along with the ice pack and stored it in the fridge at work until the end of my work day. that way the ice pack stays frozen and the milk stays cold.
