@mrs bunchy: I do CD3-7 and tonight was CD5 so I'm getting there. this is my 7th lifetime clomid cycle (since 2011) but I'm trying to keep up hope it can work for me again.

@thisisme: ha! By "snow day," do you mean the sky looked dark and a few flakes fell on the ground? We've definitely had a few of those types of "snow days!" I work in a really big county, and some parts are very rural, so if we can't get to them, everybody is out!

Have all your medications arrived? The first shot was the worst for me b/c of the nerves and disbelief that I was sticking a needle in my body. But it wasn't bad after that!

@mrs bunchy: how was 50mg for you? Were the side effects less noticeable than on 100mg? Sorry for twenty questions, I'm a little nervous about starting mine.

  5. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@MrsTal: I did one round of Clomid at 50, and the side effects weren't bad! I might be able to say that I was emotional, but that's about it. Taking it at night is supposed to help prevent hot flashes and other things as well.

  6. mrs bunchy

    kiwi / 533 posts

@MrsTal: 50mg was nothing!! It was like taking a placebo pill didn't feel any different ! It also didn't do much for my follicles or progesterone either!!

GL ! I'll answer any questions you may have !

@bhbee: Thanks for the article! We have been using Femera because it is supposed to be better for stiming with endo.

@Mrs. Pinata: Have fun at the conference!

    @just_ju: Thanks!

@Happygal: Looks good! I always feel bad asking for details that I feel like I should remember but its hard to keep my own cycle details straight sometimes so I'm sure this will help me keep up with everyone else too

    @FaithFertility: LOL...old school CD10 for OPK's sounds like a good plan

@thisisme: Good luck with the stims

@mrs bunchy: I see that you are being monitored on Clomid, they should be able to tell from your b/w and u/s whether you are ovulating or not.....What did the doc say about the progesterone level? Would they consider doing a trigger shot next cycle?

  9. mrs bunchy

    kiwi / 533 posts

@mrswin: dr says anything over 15 on medicated cycle shows ovulation.. I'm not sure about the trigger. Currently my husband just took on anther job, so I am waiting 1-2 weeks until insurance gets finalized with my company. So- until then, we are insurance less.

@Happygal: love the list! It is so hard to keep up with these threads

Sorry everyone that I haven't been very supportive or involved lately... I've been trying to stay positive after my failed IVF and it's been harder than I expected.

That being said, I do have a bit of an update. I had my WTF appointment today at the RE, and since he is changing my protocol (to long lupron) I'm actually starting again next cycle! I will get bloodwork next Friday to confirm that I've ovulated, and then I'll start Lupron once that's confirmed.

@mrswin: are you going for your IUI tomorrow?

Again, feel free to cut and paste this list, adding and subtracting as fit.

  13. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@mrs bunchy: Are you working with an RE? They all seem to have such different thresholds for 7dpo progesterone levels. Did they do it CD21 or actually 7 days after you ovulated?

@Shutterbug: No need to apologize here! Why are they switching the protocol this time? FX for a successful cycle

  14. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@Happygal: hahaha I wish they actually called it the WTF appointment... the actual term for it is "post-op", but basically it was just him explaining what the f*** went wrong. I'm not really sure what the Lupron will do differently... I haven't researched anything yet, and he basically just said it would help get more good quality eggs. The way it works is I take lupron (morrrre shots) during my luteal phase, and until I get my period. Then I continue it at a lower dose and also start stims (Gonal-F and Menopur, this time) through til egg retrieval.

Alright ladies I need some encouragement please. I got the call that our IUI is going to be tomorrow and that I need to do Ovidrel tonight . I have never injected myself with anything and I am a big wuss with needles although given the number of blood draws I have had done you would think I would be over it by now. How bad is it? Any good YouTube videos? The nurse showed me this morning but I know that later tonight I am going to need some reassurance!

  16. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@mrswin: It's not bad at all! Don't watch the videos--they'll freak you out. The needle I used was about the same width as my Follistim one. Just take your time to mix things up (I've messed it up and been very anxious about this). I did it right into my stomach, not my muscle. No problem. It can be raised and sore to touch afterwards, so aim a little higher than where your waistband hits.

Good luck! You can do it! What time is your IUI tomorrow?

@Happygal: Meds are supposed to arrive tomorrow. We watched our training videos last night. While they were exactly what I expected, I'm still soooo nervous about doing them ourselves! Most of our "snow" days this year have just been for the extreme cold! This week's was a bit of AM freezing rain that hadn't worn off early enough for it to just be a 2 hour delay.

A bit of cabin fever here, but work has been really busy, so I've enjoyed having the weekends to relax and be at home.

I've been absent from the boards as we decided to take a month off and just relax. I went on an amazing girls trip to the Caribbean, which was wonderful.

DH & I had an appointment this past week to check in with our RE. Quick history: DH has low motility and morphology. He's been on clomid for the past 3 months to try & get his numbers up. His testosterone did increase (almost doubled), but his numbers remain exactly the same, which was terribly disappointing to hear.

Our RE said we could wait another month and retest the SA, as the clomid might just take a little longer to have an impact, so we're probably going to do that. In the meantime, he said another IUI (we've had 2 failed) wouldn't give us any higher chance of BFP than timed intercourse, given our issues. (However, we did get PG on our own last year, but had a MC).

If the clomid doesn't work, there isn't any else that he recommends to improve the numbers, so we've started to discuss IVF.

I'm so overwhelmed, disappointed and downright sad at this point b/c I was CERTAIN the clomid would improve DH's numbers. IVF seems super overwhelming to both of us right now, so we're going to give it another month and retest in March, and then go from there.

Hugs to all of you out there.

@MrsWin: how was Saturday? I hope it was quick and easy for you. Welcome to the TWW!

@SunshineMcC: ohhhh, where did you travel to? We're going to take off for the Caribbean this weekend. Taking time to have a little break and process things is good.

@Mrs. Pinata: how was the conference? What did they talk about? I hope you had a great time with other adoptive parents!

@Mrs. Polish: I'm sorry. Sometimes I am surprised when I'm disappointed b/c I didn't even realize I had some hope.

@thisisme: good luck with meds today! Let us know if you have any questions. My advice before plunging in the first needle is to count to three and just do it. Oh, and taking the medication out of the fridge for a little bit ahead of time helps to reduce stinging.

Here's our updated list--@bhbee: you are done with Clomid, correct? How are things looking? @mrs bunchy: have you tested, or are you waiting for AF?
