I'm going to lose my mind before spring. 10 fresh inches of snow yesterday. It seems like my brothers are still on Christmas break. Today is their 10th day off since the beginning of the year.
Updates? I'm in a confusing place. I'm 9 days late for my period. I had curl up in a ball cramps on Sunday and assumed I would start Monday. I've had two negative tests. My progesterone is so high I just generally feel like junk. Oh, and I'm semi-crazy, still constipated. My tests are expired but I feel pretty confident they wouldn't lead me wrong. Anyone have experience with faulty/expired wondfos? I don't really have a gut feeling about this either way.

@Mrs. Polish: will you want to kill me if I said it got into the 50s yesterday? Virginia weather is so strange--freezing cold in the morning, then beautiful by the afternoon. Are you hanging in there?
Only update is that I think I ovulated. Not sure when--that's just based on CM. I don't have hope for this cycle, but I am enjoying a break. I thought I might feel anxious about not doing treatments, but I haven't felt that at all!

@Mrs. Polish: I do not have what it takes to survive long, hard winters. My husband started daydreaming about moving to Michigan. I think he imagined pristine snow, and that we would snow mobile and do other fun outdoorsy things.
I'm not sure about expired wondfos! How do you know your progesterone is high? I think with everything you're experiencing, you have a good motivator to get out of the house today--go buy a new pregnancy test!

@Happygal: I feel like I used to when I used topical progesterone and Provera. I think the earliest I'll get out is tomorrow and I might just have to ask dh to pick one up for me. Right now I'm not holding out hope. My guts are just wonky.
I promise that winter is not like a ski vacation. I wish. Every year about December we start looking to see what we can afford in Arizona.

I do not have cabin fever, I've had to go to work in atrocious weather lately and it's sucked.
As far as updates go, AF should have been here 1.5 days ago and nothing so far. I haven't had a 30 day cycle since last June, it's usually 28 or 29. I have none of the usual spotting or pms symptoms. I didn't chart or do OPKs, well not really. I didn't have fertile cm at the normal point it showed up around cd 19/20 so on CD 21 I had an almost positive opk in the AM then faded out over the next 24 hours. Is it possible I just ovulated super late? Could my HSG have caused that to happen? If that's the case AF shouldn't be here until next Monday or Tuesday. Which is annoying because I just want to start my next cycle with clomid.
@Mrs. Polish: I'd be making DH get me a test, I wouldn't be able to stand it! But I'm never late like that.
@Happygal: awesome you aren't feeling anxious this cycle. Enjoy your break from treatments!

I think I have a mild case of cabin fever. I don't get out much, but I kind of prefer to stay at home. A little more outside the house time would be great
I had my second IUI on Tuesday - husband's numbers were really good, and we're keeping fingers crossed. Beta is scheduled for the 18th.

@Mrs. Polish: I wouldn't trust the Wondfos. Something about the antibodies on the stick that react to your pee die off eventually. I used expired ones late last summer, and I was pretty sure I had a super super early m/c that month, even though they were negative (late AF, and saw what I think was a sac). I think it depends on how expired they are too...
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Mrs.Someone: they expired in Aug. @MrsTal: we do wine and pizza everyfFriday so I let him know that when he goes to the store he needs to pick up a test too.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Mrs. Polish: I would definitely not trust them then. You are one patient woman for not running out to the store for more
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Mrs.Someone: either way the test isn't going to change it, right?

Haven't had much cabin fever here in Seattle but it defintely got cold and all I want to do is stay in bed all day.
Updates: In the TWW. I'm not going to think about how many days I got til I POAS so I'm not going to figure out what CD it is.

@Mrs. Polish: I've had experience with faulty wondfos. I wouldn't use them again. get a frer.

plenty of cold and snow here in Boston. yesterday I wanted to go out in the snow and then when we did the snow picked up and we had icicles all over us! over winter for sure.
updates: last week I was waiting for my chemical to end and now I'm on day 3 of clomid, thank goodness. trying 100mg which is an increase for me, though honestly we're just giving it a shot because it worked before (since we don't know what causes the chemicals, we don't actually know if it will work again). I'm seeing the RE next week to figure out the insurance issues regarding future IUIs and figure out our plan going forward. I really want to try femara after seeing a study about how it positively affected endometrial receptivity in IVF patients.

@Mrs. Polish: Definitely get a test!
@Happygal: I'm glad that you are feeling calm about not doing any treatments.
@just_ju: Good luck with the TWW
@MrsTal: Weird! I don't think that the HSG would cause the late O but maybe the stress or something else delayed it by a few days
@bluestriped bee: Good luck with the TWW lady!

@bhbee: I hope this cycle works out for you. Do you mind posting a link to the study you are talking about, I would be interested in reading since I have only ever used Femera

I have cabin fever soooooo bad right now. We have had a really cold and snow-y winter so far and it still gets dark too early for my liking!
Sorry I wasn't around last week but I was just taking a little break, plus I was slammed at work. I am on CD 10 today and getting ready to do our last IUI this weekend. I think we have decided to move on to IVF if this IUI doesn't work out.
ETA: back to my corner I go to rub my pennies together to fund said IVF

@Mrs. Polish: You're right! But, good idea to get a test. I HATE buying HPTs as they have always just been a waste of money. Hopefully not for you though.
All is find here. I feel like we're the only place in the country that hasn't had snow yet. It's everywhere around us, but not here! I head to a conference for adoptive moms tomorrow, so I'm excited about a fun weekend!

@mrswin: sure I found the article on this blog about recurrent chemical pregnancies (link to full article text is in the post). I think the femara (letrozole) was specifically geared toward implantation failures vs other issues. I'm pretty interested because this woman's history is so similar to mine, and she had success with femara. I'm at least going to bring the article to ask the RE about it.

As this thread grows, I have a hard time keeping tabs on everyone. I really try to ask for updates and see how people are doing and fear leaving someone out! So if you all are game, I thought we could try to keep a running list we update here and there for these threads. No pressure--I don't want anyone to feel like they'll be hounded for POAS info or anything like that (unless you want that!) Feel free to format, suggest different headers, etc.

@Mrs. Polish: I ordered something like a 50 pack of those wondfo pregnancy tests a couple of years ago. I only know that they're still accurate for a BFN....
@Happygal: I'm in VA, too, but we had a "snow" day yesterday. This weather is working out well for me. School has been cancelled for my past two appointments, so I haven't had to use sick time from work! And thanks for trying to organize everyone's info!
I'm starting stims for my first IVF cycle on Monday!

@thisisme: Oh, good luck! That's exciting! Keep us posted as I'll have all my fingers and toes crossed for you!

No cabin fever here. Have had to work (weather made my 40 min communtes 1.5 hrs lately).
Currently 10dpo. Progesterone was only 15.3 this month I swore I had a speck of pink blood today after using the bathroom, but it could have been a figment of my imagination.
waiting this time until I miss AF to test. I spend too much $ on those tests now a days !! If AF this month- 100mg clomid again
eggplant / 11861 posts
@mrs bunchy: I think those progesterone numbers are still ok :)))) I know they say they like to see 20 but I think anything over 10 shows O ...fingers crossed for a BFP:)

@thisisme: Congrats on starting your IVF cycle prayers to you!!!
clementine / 901 posts
@Happygal: love the running list idea! I think that will help.
@bhbee: I'm sorry about the chemical. I hope this cycle works out for you.
@mrswin: I did some searching and a lot of women had delayed O after HSG, which seems weird, maybe it was just the stress of it? In any case I'm fairly sure AF will come next Monday or Tuesday unless I'm PG. I hope that this IUI works for you guys!
@Mrs. Pinata: the adoption conference sounds interesting and fun! And you can have some of our snow, we have plenty!
@FaithFertility: I love calling I old school! Ha
@thisisme: Exciting!!! Good luck!
@mrs bunchy: forgive me for not remembering but did you do 50mg of clomid this cycle? Was that all you did?
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@FaithFertility: even though we are doing clomid I also feel kind of old school going back to timed BD and OPKs!
@mrswin: good luck with the IUI!
@Happygal: I like the roster, definitely helps!
@mrs bunchy: how does 100mg clomid treat you? I am remembering just how crappy it makes me feel. I take it in the evening and start to feel the vision/headache effects right away and feel tired/nauseous/depressed until I get a day or two past it. oh and the constant sweating at night . . . ugh. hoping this cycle works out for you and you don't have to do it again!
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@MrsTal: Ha! I would definitely take some! I can't believe even Atlanta and Texas has had snow, but we haven't here in TN!
kiwi / 533 posts
@MrsTal: no. I have been doing 100mg clomid x3 months. Also u/s and blood draws. Was on 50mg x2 months before that..
kiwi / 533 posts
@bhbee: I haven't felt too horrible on it.. I think the worst are headaches and hot flashes. Usually only lasts the 3-4th days. Thank goodness!!! How long were/are you taking clomid?
