I like my job most days and consider it to be a career. It is in the industry I always wanted to work in but when I was younger I didn't know this type of job (consulting/finance) was an option.
My beta is 08/05 and I will probably POAS on 08/04.

My job is a way to make money for me. When I was younger, I thought I was going to be a successful actress. Clearly, life has taken me in a different path! But I board dogs now, and I like it most of the time. And it's allowed me to make "my own" money to take trips and shop, and have money available to buy gifts for DH for Christmas, birthdays, etc.
Updates: On day 6 of FSH injections. On Saturday, I'll go for an US to see how many follicles are looking good. Hopefully she'll tell me trigger soon after that. I plan on testing out my trigger this time, and I ordered some ICs yesterday, that I hope will get here in time!
What kind of side affects do you guys have when on injectables? In the beginning, I was just feeling a little tired and had some headaches. Last night I started feeling a little uncomfortable in the baby-making area. Like a dull ache, that sometimes radiates, if that makes sense. Mostly around where I imagine my right ovary to be. But maybe it's all in my head!?

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I just did injectables with my IVF cycle and I had an almost constant headache, full feeling in the abdomen (especially as I got closer to retrieval) and I was tired and thirsty.

@mrswin: Ok, glad to know it's not all in my head! I'm only on a small dose, but I hardly ever get headaches, and I've had like 3. So I was pretty much convinced it was the FSH.

I had no dreams of what I'd do when I grew up. My job is just a means to make money to me. I'd quit working in a heartbeat if I was financially able (which to us includes my husband cause he feels the same. We both work, or we both get to retire).
5DPO now for me. Just waiting to start the IVF cycle when my period comes. Not really hopeful since unmedicated or medicated TI or IUI hasn't worked thus far so with our bad timing, I'm not holding out any hope for this cycle.

I love my job. It is definitely a career for me, and I am where I hoped I would be when I was younger. Not necessarily a little kid, but this is what I saw myself doing/wanted to do from high school on.
Not too much to update...still waiting for AF...ugh!

@mrswin: FX for you!!!!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I was exhausted as soon as I started Lupron and stayed that way through stims. I had occasional headaches and then just the general full/achy feeling in my ovary area.
@PurplePumps: My last cycle before my IVF I wasn't hoping for anything either. I was just chomping at the bit to get started too! Good luck to you!

I like my career but not really my company. The work atmosphere is hard but benefits are good. I can't wait to get pregnant and have a LO so I can job hunt and move back east. When I was in school, I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor, instead I'm in the pharmaceutical industry doing drug development. I think this job is better for me. As much as I would want to be in patient care, I don't think I would have the courage and strength to actually poke and diagnose people. I am able to help people in my job so it works.
As for me, today is day 11 and my second IUI is today. My first IUI was yesterday so I'm in my TWW... 1 DPO! My POAS date and beta test is Aug 13. Oh, I scheduled a WTF appt on Aug 14 to talk about IVF if this cycle doesn't work. Hoping it's the one but covering my bases if it isn't.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I don't think its in your head
@bluestriped bee: Good luck with this IUI being it for you
@FaithFertility: Hahaha so close...so scary

@mrswin: Thanks!
So another update, DH wasn't able to provide a sample for today's IUI. It's okay because we have samples frozen. Fresh would be better but, at least, it's something. His fresh sample yesterday had great numbers, so still hopeful.

@bluestriped bee: awwww I believe frozen is just fine, better frozen then no sample or a crazy low count

Are you ready for your vacation?? I've been so out of it at work this week just waiting for it to be over! One more day!
i just got a call from the doctors office and the good news is that I've only used about $200 of my $7500 life time max. (I thought I'd used about 2k so far) The bad news is that the doctor told me it would be about 5-6k per round (so by my original assumption of 2k used, I'd owe maybe 500 max), but the contracted rate with my insurance is actually closer to 9k so I may actually have to pay $1500. I know that's still great for a round of IVF especially compared to totally out of pocket so I shouldn't complain, but it sucks when things are more than expected.

Bloodwork results from yesterday:
Progesterone 21.6
Estrogen 370
Whatever that means

@bluestriped bee: Fingers crossed for you, hang in there
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I'm sorry that you're feeling crummy, and hope that it is all worth it soon! I've never done injectables, but I often wonder whether or not all the endo pain is in my head, or real life. That feeling totally adds to the stress!
@Sunshine1810: I love my job too, it's definitely a "well at least I love my job" as we go through this whole IF journey.
@mrswin: You're getting SO close, even though I'm sure that it doesn't feel that way
@PurplePumps: Just another example of all the crazy ups and downs that we go through I'm sorry that you're stuck in all this crap.
I absolutely love my job, even though it is pretty constant and can be stressful. I have to admit, physically and emotionally, I feel best when I am totally absorbed in it. I just wish it paid a little more, especially now that we are looking at the potential need for IVF, because it doesn't look like it will be a financial possibility for us for the next couple of years
I have an initial consult with an re on Aug. 18. Obviously, I'm hoping that he can magically, and relatively cheaply, get me knocked up ASAP. If that dream doesn't become reality, I hope that I can at least get to feeling better. I am tired of feeling sick and tired all the time. I want to get back to feeling like myself!

@babycanuck: is that 7dpo? 21 is great for progesterone! I have no idea about the estrogen number.

My job is a career, but right now I'm seeing it as just a source of income. I've been doing it for 10 years and although I've definitely moved up, I feel a little stagnant. I know I want to do something else, and I think I know what, I just don't know how to get there. What I'm doing now is not something I dreamed about growing up, but I didn't really think about my job then.
No IF updates from me. I'm feeling much better after the chemical pregnancy I just had. At the beginning of this week I was feeling really down and depressed about it but now I've accepted that it happened and I'm trying to see the positives in it. We're off to Vegas this weekend and I can't wait!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: fx for you! I'm excited and positive for you that this will work. I hope you start feeling better though.
@PurplePumps: GL! I hope that you this cycle is successful and you don't have to start IVF, but if you do, at least you know you will be doing all that you can do
@bluestriped bee: So excited and hopeful for you! This has to be the one I'm not really familiar with IUI, does the man always have to provide 2 samples?
@PurplePumps: That sucks that you have to pay more than you thought, but it really is awesome that your insurance covers most of it!
@babycanuck: I have no idea what that means but I hope it's all positives
@owlteach: I hope that your RE is able to give you some answers!

@babycanuck: Both look good to me!!! I posted about estrogen levels the other day... I guess they go up nearing O and decrease after as progesterone takes over? But the number depends on how many eggs, how mature, etc.

Well, I just started a new-old job a couple months ago (it was a job I was at a couple years ago). It's a non-traditional legal job but will be perfect for once there's a LO. It's low stress which, at this point, is nice and what I need. But none of my post-graduation jobs are what I thought I would be doing. Such is life!
Update - Back at the RE tomorrow for another check up. I hope this is it. Last Clomid cycle, I started to surge on my own on CD15 (per my blood work) and tomorrow is CD15. I'm hoping IUI is Saturday but we'll see!

My job is my career. I am a nurse. I was always interested in the medical field but also was really interested in cosmetology too. I am glad I went into nursing, it constantly challenges you, your always learning, and it is rewarding. But it doesn't come without it's downfalls too. Stress, long hours, working weekends and holidays, ect.
I am currently 3dp5dt. Feeling nothing. Tested out my trigger. Just trying to have one more day or rest before working all weekend.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I was so nervous about injectables for my IVF cycle. The only thing I had was trouble sleeping. My awful bloating didn't come until after retrieval but I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly all the stims went. Hope you feel well!
@Sunshine1810: hurry up AF!
@bluestriped bee: Hope this one works for you so you can skip IVF all together!
@PurplePumps: So wish I had some kind of IVF coverage! You are a lucky one:)
@LindsayInNY: Good luck!

@alohaorchid: Yup, if I want back-to-back inseminations for my IUI, DH has to come in twice (day after trigger and then the next day). At my old office, they had a different protocol and only did one insemination. Either way, the pressure was sometimes too much for the DH, so that's why I like to get the DH to come in way before my IUI so we can freeze some samples for back up. I've had 2 cycles cancelled in the past (no IUI) because DH wasn't able to do a sample. So, although, I have to pay for the cryopreservation costs, it's definitely better than having a cancelled cycle and waiting another month.
Not sure on the stats & literature on doing back-to-back inseminations versus only one, but I figure it couldn't hurt to have swimmers in there two days in a row and around the time I'm suppose to O.

@FaithFertility: Yup, exactly.
@PurplePumps: Yup, can't wait. I have to stay late at work today and I'm leaving work early tomorrow. Tomorrow needs to get here.
@babycanuck: Sorry, I never took progesterone so I have no idea what that means. I hope it's good!
@LindsayInNY: Hope your checkup looks good tomorrow!!

I love my job! I am an xray tech and also went to cosmetology school when I graduated highschool early- so I cut hair on the side.
Updates: waiting for another u/s Tuesday to make sure this bean is growing. So nervous.

Cross-posting from the IUI check-in page....
I don't know what to think about this whole process anymore... Went in this morning for another ultrasound check. On Monday, I had 3 or so of a good size on the right size (1-2 larger than the other or something like that) and some smaller ones on the left side. This morning, the left side has taken over. The right follicles (not sure how many) are 13-14mm, I think? I tried to get the number but she wasn't overly vocal during the exam. The left size had one huge follicle though and, with this morning's EWCM I'm fairly certain that I will be naturally Oing this week. I guess that's due to the big left follicle? I was hoping there would more than 1 "ripe" one though. I asked what happens if I O naturally before everything is mature enough and didn't really get a direct answer. Waiting for this afternoon's call once they have my blood work back. We'll see!

@bluestriped bee: thanks for explaining that. It definitely makes sense. I can't even imagine the amount of pressure guys must feel when they're going through all of this. My husband told me a little bit about when he went through it previously and it definitely sounds hard on them too. Two IUI's sounds better than one and anything you can do to help make it happens is worth it
I have everything crossed for you that this is your cycle! And, I hope you have a great trip!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@LindsayInNY: Sorry I can't remember but are you taking Clomid or Femera? I have had this happen during and IUI cycle where a smaller follicle became dominant between checks. They will know when they get your bloodwork back whether you are already surging or not. Also there is a possibility that the really large follicle could be a cyst which they will also be able to tell from the bloodwork
bananas / 9229 posts
@mrswin: I took Clomid 50mg. I'm almost certain that my blood work is going to show that I'm surging (literally the exact symptoms as last time and I was). No history of cysts though and they did some color thing on the screen during the ultrasound to see if certain areas were blood vessels or a cyst. I'm just so fearful they'll cancel this for whatever reason.
