Assuming you trust this person, what would your reaction be?
It's almost 10pm here and my sister texted to see if she could take my 2 and 3 year old from Friday night until Sunday. It's DH's birthday Friday and mine Saturday, so I'm thinking she's wanting to give us a break for our birthdays. I was caught off guard though because it was so last minute! We had plans that involved the girls but I'm thinking a free weekend sounds amazing right about now!

DS is going to my MIL this weekend and if I could send the newborn off for a few hours too I would. But he's pretty much attached to me and she isn't too into babies.

For my toddler- yes!! But the baby won't take a bottle so we are a package deal.

I am going to have to go with thanks but no thanks. Summer weekends are fun for us, and as a working mom, I really count down the hours to the weekend. If it came as a request during the week I would be all over it.

Two nights might be rough on my kids since we haven't been away from them for that long, but one night, assuming it was my parents, YES! My parents are actually taking them Saturday night for us so we can go to a wedding. I'm excited to sleep in!!!

Do it! My FIL asked to take the kids on Tuesday to sleepover, and I was so excited. Not so thrilled that he asked that morning, and I spent all morning getting food packed up (food allergies) for each meal. DH decided to take advantage of our kid free day, and he took off Wednesday so that we could go into the city and spend the day together. We had so much fun, and it was amazing to be kid free for a day.

Absolutely. In fact, tomorrow we'll be dropping LO off at grandma's for the weekend.

I'm the same as @looch: I'd say no. But I fully acknowledge this isn't normal!! 
I feel like my weekends with DD are too precious to give up. I often wonder when that will stop being the case and I surely try to brace myself for the future when DD will not want to spend any time with me all

@looch: @Ajsmommy: same. We get very limited time as a family of 4 because of work schedules, so I'd decline. I'd take a date night though!

@looch: @Ajsmommy: same! I had family staying in town Monday night and a concert Tuesday night, with work I didn't see my son awake for two days, I missed him so much.
I really look forward to weekends with him. Some day he won't want to spend all weekend with his mom but these days, I have to soak them up because I'm at work all day.

@Bao: I cant leave my LO at the last minute like that. I need to know ahead of time and plan it properly. She is 4 and we have only left her over night once. Leaving her gives me more anxiety than anything and we enjoy being with her on the weeknds since its busy during the week. we also do church together and fun weekend things.

Sure. LO spends entire weeks with her grandparents a few times a year (one week in the summer, a week between Xmas and New Years, etc.) and there are no issues on either side. And she's 4 hours away, so not down the street or anything. Bonding with other relatives is good and everyone is happier for it.

I'd say yes in a heartbeat, but since neither of my kids STTN, I always turn down the offer. I don't want to burden them with frequent MOTN wake ups.

If my kids were those ages and with someone I completely trusted then Totally! One night at the very least if I wasn't sure about all weekend.

If it were my sister volunteering ( Either of my sisters ) absolutely yes! If it were my inlaws then I'd say no ( but my husband would be choked at me I'm sure hahah. )

I took her up on it! I'm a little sad I won't see my girls for my birthday BUT I also need some time with just my husband. No responsibilities!
