I quit pumping around 13-14 months. I just had enough and decided to stop. I knew I wanted to wean by 18 months, so I wasn't worried about keeping up supply. I didn't notice a huge decline right away, but I was only pumping once a day.

With DD, I pumped until she was 13m and nursed morning/bedtime until she was 14 1/2m when she self-weaned. DS turns 1 on Monday and I'm still pumping 3x/day so I plan to continue for a while longer but am going to slowly wean from pumping with the hopes of maintaining a nursing relationship at minimum of morning/bedtime until he wants to self-wean (which may happen when I have to be out of town for 3 days in December for work).

@HabesBabe: I am happy to still have a small frozen supply, especially since we are done nursing now (once I got pregnant, you couldn't have paid me to nurse, it was so uncomfortable!)- I give him a sippy of pumped milk every few days. He had a fever not long ago, and it was one of the few things he would drink.

i stopped at 15 months because she rejected the bottle completely anyway after christmas break. i was so glad to stop! and she's still nursing at 23 months, so no regrets! (other than not weaning sooner!!!)

My LO is 14.5 mo and I'm dying to stop pumping. In fact, I'm actively trying to stop and am down to 1 12-min pump per day and morning/night nursing session for a total of 3x per day. I'm really scared to stop the final mid-day pump bc I'm afraid it will be too physically painful for me. My body seems to take its sweet time getting used to the decreased request for milk. I never thought I'd still be pumping past 1 yr!

I always find transition times the hardest - introducing food at 6 mo, when to give chunkier foods, stopping breastfeeding.
