We hired my mom as our nanny. I guess really au pair because she basically lives with us during the week. I got her a le cruset 4 piece cookware as her holiday bonus because she likes to cook

I wrote ours a second check this year, but gave cash last year. This year it was kind of spur of the moment - I was planning on giving it to her this week, but last Friday we were chatting and she mentioned that she was going to finish up her Christmas shopping the next day, so I went ahead and wrote her a check right then.
