Was your cycle length regular, or all over the place? I'm still nursing/pumping (DD is 10.5m) and AF came back a little over a month ago. My normal cycle length is around 5 weeks, so she should be back any day now but I can't tell. I hate not knowing!

It was longer at first, then got more normal.

It's regular, but nothing like pre pregnancy. I used to have 29 day cycles and pretty manageable periods. Now it's 22 day cycles and periods from hell!

I got it back around 3-4 months pp. Then nothing for 7 months or so. Cycles were pretty normal after that.

I got mine back at 12 months PP, when I quit pumping, but was still nursing 1-2 times a day. It was all over the place, sometimes 35 days, sometimes 21 days and everything in between. I only had 5 cycles before I was KU again, so I'm not sure where it would have landed. Prior to pregnancy, I had a very regular 28-day cycle.

Yes, my cycles are usually 5 weeks long but the first few that I got (11 months pp) were more like 7 weeks.

I nursed for 15-16 months, but my cycle returned at only 6 months post-partum. It was a normal cycle when it came back.

Like clockwork, starting a month after birth
The flow itself hasn't been consistent though.

I had one period after LO1 was born at 11 months pp and then I got pregnant again. That cycle was regular (for me). I have long cycles that are about 45 days and the one pp cycle fit that pattern (I ovulated around the same time I did before I got pregnant the first time).

The first cycle was long, like 36 days or something, but since has been between 27-29 days eta ad came back when lo was about 7 months, and she's 19 months now and I'm still nursing

It's been fairly regular after the first one, which was extremely heavy and painful.

I got my first pp af at 15 months. It was super heavy, much more so than before I got pregnant. 2 weeks later I had a week of spotting. Then another heavy period about a month after which was also followed by another week of spotting 2 weeks later. It has been about a month since that and I have a lighter more normal period this time. I have been ovulating between the week of spotting and regular period so if it weren't for that 2 week stretch and then the spotting my cycles would be pretty normal. I have also started getting migraines that seem to be hormonal. I have never had them until my first pp ovulation and then myu second af. I am still breastfeeding a couple times a day and overnight.

After ds1, I got my period back at 4.5 months, but the cycle after that didn't happen until almost 60 days later... but by the third cycle I was back to my usual (Longish) cycles 32-36 days.
I spotted twice in month 2 and 3 this time, but I still haven't gotten a full AF visit yet ... I"m assuming its right around the corner though. I'm 4 months pp and DS2 sttn around the same time as DS1, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it for my body.

@mfa_lady: I guess by mittelschmerz and CM? I have one day that it really hurts when I sit down and then CM stops and AF shows 2 weeks later.

AF came back at 8 months postpartum and the first few cycles were long but shortened up and remained pretty consistent. (See pic. FYI March was a CP do probably would have been shorter if I hadn't gotten pregnant. I had a random long one right before the cycle I got pregnant. Pre-pregnancy my cycles were closer to 36 days and the cycle I conceived on this time would have been longer (ovulated on CD23). So mostly consistent but still a little whacky. I was/am still nursing.

Both times AF came back at 6 weeks pp, and I had a regular 29 day cycle. Both were exclusively breastfed, and never slept through the night while BFing.

All over the place. I've had 5 post partum periods. One was at 7.5 weeks, one at 10 weeks (but I think the 10 week one was due to minipill), one at 6.5 months, one at 8.5 months, and one at 10.5 months. I'm due for another very soon, at 11.5 months. They all seem to have varying luteal phases and varying ovulation times (I got pregnant a few months ago on accident and conceived on CD6.....ended in miscarriage but really, CD6?!) Baby is still EBF and STILL doesn't STTN consistently. Good times.
