We figured out at 3 weeks I have low supply. For the last week I have been pumping after every daytime nursing session, and we have been supplementing with pumped milk and formula. I'm not seeing any improvement in my supply at all yet and I'm starting to wonder if it will ever actually get better. I do not feel like nursing AND pumping every 2-3 hrs all day is do-able long term, especially because I'm on my own starting tomorrow and have no clue how I'm going to manage pumping while watching lo alone.
So I'm wondering.. If you had a low supply, did it ever improve? If so, what did you do to improve it and how long did it take? Or at what point did you just accept that your supply sucks?
I will stick with it a bit longer but I'm so tempted to just say f it and just breastfeed her and supplement with formula as needed and stop stressing about pumping and getting my supply up.
I will ask about the Rx, although I'm generally so hesitant to get on rx drugs so I'd need to look into that a bit to see if I was comfortable with it.
It is NOT all or nothing!
