@Arden: we find out what we are having tomorrow but Rosalie is on our short list!
Other names are Josephine, Elyse, Eloise, Emmeline, and Audrey. Middle name would be Mae.

Zoey or Riley. I really like Aubrey, but one of our friends named their daughter that. Along with Leah.

@illumina: Ah, love it! Those are DH's two Grandma's names, which makes it even better.

If DS was a girl she would have been Eleanor (Ella) Marie as I've always loved the name Ella and DH wanted something more formal.
But now I'm really loving the name Maeve Marie and am pushing hard for it if we have a girl next.
I have no idea about boys names.

@MUI831: I LOVE Ella/Ellie/Eleanor--but DH has a friend with a not-so-upstanding sister named Ellie, so it's out for us. Dangit!

@mfa_lady: I'm a teacher and that makes naming kids difficult because they all remind me of someone. But I've only had one Hannah and she was an absolute doll. Ever since then I 've loved it. Although my husband would prefer the Scandanavian spelling Hanna (as in Hanna Anderson), so we'd likely do that.

@bushelandapeck: Hah! Such beautiful names, many of those are on our list too!
Eloise is the one name that seems to be coming out on top for our girl due in Oct (DH was in favor, but is even more excited after finding out one of his favorite NFL coaches has a daughter named Eloise. Sheesh.
). Coralie (nn Cora) is also in the running.
If it were only my decision, Beatrice, Maeve and Nora would be in the running. If DH had the ultimate decision-making power, he would pick Pascale.

I would go with a name that didn't get picked for my DD, either Vivienne, Liv or maybe Lucie, although Lucie is too close to my DS's name.

We are obviously going through the same thing, naming girl #2, and these are some of the ones we're considering or have considered (but can't use for one reason or another): Eliza, Eloise (both too close to DD#1's name), Maude, Matilda, Josephine, Beatrice, Alice, Cecily. I also like Clementine and Imogen but DH said no way to those
It's tough with this one bc DD#1's name isn't in the top 1000, so nearly everything else seems super popular or trendy in comparison.

Ours girl's name (which I will apparently never get to use! DH's family is full of boys and so far our kids are no exception) would have been Kaylie Aurora. Other front runners were Olive and Violet.

So many nice names on this thread! I liked Rowan as a boys name last time so I'm glad that didn't end up happening if its a girls name. Dh didn't like it anyway.
I think our top contenders for the next LO, if we have another girl, are Cecelia, Julia, and Aria.

@Pancakes: I hear you! My DD's name is outside the top 1000 and everything else we considered seemed so popular.

@sorrycharlie: Hahaha I'm a huge Frozen fan as well! Luckily I loved Elsa before I saw Frozen so I try to forget that it'll be hugely popular because of the movie.... I'm hoping that the hype surrounding it dies down by the time I have to name a baby girl for real!

@Pancakes: I'm going to be the same way if we have another girl. DD's name (Audra) is not in the top 1000, but all the other girls names I like are pretty high on the list.

Congrats!! I really want the chance to name another little girl! My top choices are Willa, Margot, Cecelia or Asher.

Yesterday on the playground, there was a girl named Flora, and I thought it was a lovely name.

@MoonMoon: Flora is my great-grandmother's maiden name. I love it!

I like Marley, Avery, Delaney (nn Laney), Reilly... but truthfully I'm hoping for boys

@bushelandapeck: Eek so exciting!
Our short list for girls:
Grace C/Katherine
Amelia Grace
Eleanor Grace
Abigail Grace
If D had no say Olivia Grace would be on the list, too, but he vetoed it because of popularity, and Evelyn Grace would be on it but we have an Evan already
.

@Ms.Pumpkin: awesome! Maeve is on my list too!
@autumnlove: @lovehoneybee: eek!! Can't wait

Our daughter (due in less than a month!) will be named Madeleine Joyce.

@bushelandapeck: Josephine is on our list, too. The only downfall is that it is our niece's middle name, so I'm not sure how that would go over if we "stole" it as a first name.
Right now our current #1 is Aubrey Michelle. That's what we would've named our son had be been a girl, so that's the name to beat. Unfortunately, it's grown in popularity over the past two years, so that's working against it.
Others I like are Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Allie (but I'm not a fan of Allison). Middle name will most likely be Michelle (my middle name) or Mae (my new fav for a middle name). My husband also likes Maggie, but I'm not a fan of Margaret. I kinda like Ellie, too.

@Pancakes: You have great taste! Most of the ones you listed are on my short list.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@BunnyLovesBear: You could definitely just use Allie or Maggie. I know 2 girls right off the top of my head who were named just that, not short for anything.
