anyone have the ikea gulliver crib? i'm not a fan of the traditional curved, ornate cribs at bru. i like simple, clean lines. i love the way the gulliver looks online, but we don't have an ikea close by. it's definitely in our price range... even with shipping. if you have this crib, i'd love your input/opinions/suggestions!

We used to have the sniglar and had no problems with it. I assume the gulliver would be the same. I did sand it a little before we used it though.

We have the sundvik, but the Gulliver looked nice in the stores too. I didn't like the Sniglar, because that looked really rough and the spindles looked really thin to me.

We have a gulliver crib. I really like the simplicity of it. It was so easy to put together, and it is quite solid. This is a picture of it in the room (there is a mesh "tent" over it to keep the cat out).

Yup, I love it. It has simple lines, that's what I liked best about it.

I like the clean, simple lines too! I did read somewhere though that most regular crib mattresses don't fit the Ikea cribs? Just food for thought.

@shopaholic: I heard that too. I looked at dimensions on the ikea site, and it looks like a normal mattress would fit. It has the same measurements.

@cvbee: Thanks! I keep posting pics here and there, there wasn't a photo posting option before, so I never did a reveal! It is actually more decorated now (some more art on walls, a bookcase, etc).

Sorry to thread jack but @MsMini where did u get the tent? I'm afraid my kitty will lay in the crib but haven't seen much besides the pack and play type nets.

We have the IKEA gulliver too and it is perfect for our needs. I wasn't in the market for a convertible crib, so we were looking to spend as little as possible to get a plain crib.

I've been thinking about buying two of these because it says it is solid beech, and I'm hoping I could paint it whatever color I want! Also, since we're buying two cribs, the price just can't be beat!

@Mrs. Blue: Tons of people paint the gulliver cribs different colours! It seems to work quite well.
@Phillybaby2013: I got the crib tent at a local baby store that was going out of business. We have actually taken it off now though, because my cat is terrified of my baby (LOL).
