My son is almost 9 months old. We started purees at 6 months but he pretty much refused them. We could never even get him to open his mouth. In the last three weeks he's finally started gobbling them down and doing great. He likes them to be runny.

I have been giving him pieces of food and thicker purees but even if the smallest bite of something gets on his tongue that is thicker and not super runny he starts gagging and vomits. He basically can't tolerate anything with substance at all.

Did anyone else deal with something like this? I'm going to bring it up at his well visit in two weeks, but in the meantime I'm wondering if others have any experience. My daughter was eating basically everything we did by this time so it seems off to me, but maybe not?
