I think natural soy products like edamame and tofu are better than soy-fortified products. I've read that a couple of servings a day won't hurt them.

Our doctor actually recommend soy foods (including edamame, tofu, and soy milk) for DD since she doesn't eat much meat and she doesn't like cow's milk. She doesn't have soy every day, but my understanding is that soy foods are fine in moderation.

I think edamame would be considered good, especially if it is organic, because it is a much less processed soy product.
