Or does every emergency vehicle and or construction truck have to go by during nap time? I'm sitting here about to have a panic attack and watching the video monitor. My street is NEVER this loud when M is awake! Mama needs a minute to herself

@MrsF: I've noticed that the garbage truck likes to come right as LO finally falls asleep. Or UPS comes and freaks the dog out. Or our neighbors pull up blaring their music. It's like everyone knows when she's asleep and is conspiring against me.

My problem is Lady M waking up just as I need to do something - like a call for some freelance work today. Of course she would only wake up at that exact time b/c I had something scheduled. If I didn't, she'd be taking a 2 hour nap right now!

I was just telling DH yesterday that the doorbell only rings during nap time or after nite nite time. Every.single.time.

@Andrea: We unplugged our doorbell for this very reason. It wasn't even the doorbell itself that was the big issue.... it's the fact that the dog loses his damn mind and barks like a fool every time it rings!

@MamaMoose: i would rather they ring the doorbell than bang on the door, though. people are crazy. if i ignore the doorbell, they think it is broken and start banging which ends up being a lot louder. walk away people...just walk away....
ETA - DH said that he'll buy me a house some day with a gate. One can dream ...but by that time, I won't have any young children so who cares??

I used to feel this way- Finally get H down and then Ups rings doorbell, so dog freaks out barking, etc
But then we got the Marpac Dohm and I can't hear anything going on downstairs when it's on and I'm in the nursery, so I know she can't! I wish I would have had this from the start but we didnt get it until like a month ago!

@PrincessBaby: my baby still wakes up with the marpac on. she is so sensitive!

Ugh, I hate that! Same thing seems to happen when I'm driving and she's asleep, too--truckers will lay on their horns, fire trucks will go by, etc.

@Andrea: hahahaha... tell him to go build you a moat in the mean time!

@andrea, @mamamoose: I need a gate, a moat and to have the stupid home phone unplugged. DH feels like we need to have one but it's only ever a telemarketer and always at nap time. I'm getting rid of it.

@andrea: I think I will too. The call that woke M up yesterday was someone trying to "arrange for the delivery of an I've fallen and I can't get up system". He literally said that. Not worth waking a baby for, that's for sure!
