What does this feel like? And does it mean it opens the gates for milk flow?
I will feed on one side and the other side will start leaking on her, does that mean letdownhas already happened? I never feel anything, just feel milk leaking out mah boobs!

Not every mama feels a letdown. Mine are super strong though. Like a weird tingly sensation that sometimes actually kinda hurts!

Like PP said, not everyone feels letdown, but if you leak on the side you're not nursing, that means you letdown

Some Moms don't feel a let down, mine felt like a squeezing sensation in my boobs, it was really strong at first, and over time has gotten more subtle.

Besides the leaking my letdowns are accompanied by an intense wave of thirst.

I never feel it on the side that I'm actually nursing on but the other side (the not being nursed on side) always gets a feeling that I'm assuming is letdown- a tingly, almost painful feeling!

I only ever have it when I'm actually nursing. When milk leaks throughout the day into my breast pad, I never feel it...yet the pad is wet so I know I did letdown at some point. Be gla you don't feel it- in my opinion: it hurts!

what the other ladies said - some people don't feel it, but if you're dripping, you're definitely letting down 
mine isn't *painful* but definitely uncomfortable! like when you have intense pins and needles.

i didn't feel mine let down until about a month into breastfeeding. like some pp, mine feels like this tingly sensation and sometimes it is accompanied by a pressure like feeling when the let down is very strong.

I I didn't and don't feel it when breastfeeding or pumping. I would feel a weird tingly sensation about an hour after bfing or pumping on the early months, though. I never understood that.

@FutureMrsMcK: yes!!! There has been more than once in the middle of the night when she latches on and I literally have to wake my husband up to go get me a bottle of water!

I usually don't feel anything. At the most I feel a faint pins and needles for about 2 seconds. I found out at the LC today that LO is taking 3.5 oz from one breast, so i'm certainly letting down whether I feel it or not.

Same as ms mini. Also I didn't start feeling it until after a few weeks and then it got very strong.....and then it got less strongff over time.

I never felt a letdown with DD. With DS I will feel a tingly sensation sometimes I would feel it then begin dripping but sometimes I wouldn't.

I've been breastfeeding for 4.5 months and only felt it a couple of times and when I did, it didn't hurt in my case.

I only feel it when I'm not actively feeding, like when I'm out and about and my milk lets down. It's kind of tingly, though it doesn't hurt for me. It does make me feel the tiniest bit nauseous though (more like losing my appetite) - does anyone else get that?

It took me a good month to feel a let down - I'd just leak (actually still do) on the side I'm not nursing on.
Now it feels like my boobs tighten. It hurts when they both do it at the same time

Agree with PP...LO is nearly 5 months and just started to feel it when I let down. It doesn't hurt and is pretty subtle It's just a recognizable feeling now, especially when I'm pumping.

@Beehive: I'm totally the same! I feel it usually 2 hours (almost on the dot) after I pump (since I EP), but never while I'm actually pumping. And I get the slight nausea...not like really sick...just a hint of it.
