My son is 16 weeks old and is EBF. He eats 5 times a day, no problems there but he weighs 19 lbs. and measured 27 inches in hieght. He's a BIG boy!!! Did you have a big, chubby baby? Did they even out once they became mobile?
I love my chubby boy! What I don't love are the comments, like what are you feeding him and maybe he needs to eat less. I thought you could never overfeed a bf baby!?

Wagon Jr. Was an incredibly chubby ebf baby and we got comments all the time too. After his first illness where he didn't eat for a few days and we didn't have to worry about him losing too much weight, the comments didn't bother me anymore! I asked at every doc appt if I needed to cut him off with feedings and they always said he was fine. Now he's almost 4 and we struggle to get him to eat enough calories. So don't worry! Once they start crawling and walking they totally stretch out. Try not to let the comments bother you too much and enjoy your healthy, chubby baby!!

@jh524: my sister had two enormous breastfed babies too and go those comments a lot too. They are both actually a little on the small side now at 3rd grade and 7th grade and eat very healthfully.

Both my babies were about that size at 16 weeks! They do slim down a lot once they get more mobile. Don't worry and ignore the naysayers!!

I have a big boy who's EBF too! I proudly say "my milk made that!"
I don't understand why anyone would EVER comment on a baby's weight and/or diet!

@jh524: haha I just looked at my EBF son's stats at 4 months and he was 19lbs8ounces and 27 inches long! 
He's perfect and your son is perfect too!
edit: at 10 months old he's 30 inches tall and 23lbs!

My baby is tiny. She is 14 months and doesnt weigh as much as your LO. People have crazy comments either way!

I saw a tiny thin woman holding a very chubby baby at the doctors office. We struck up a conversation and she told me all of her kids were super chunky and her 2 oldest were with her - super gorgeous and completely healthy weight. Some babies are just chubby, no big deal

Those proportions sound fine to me! Not too chubby, overall a big baby, but that's awesome! I can't speak to whether or not you can overfeed a bf baby but I don't think you're overfeeding him based on those numbers! Be proud! We got "chubby" comments too and dd still has big cheeks although her body is much smaller. I don't know why people think it's ok to comment anything they like about babies just because they are young and little. I'm sure he's a perfect little guy!

Don't worry, my DD is super tall, super chunky, and EBF too! I hate the shocked looks and "Oh! Wow!" response I get every time someone asks me her age. One time at a family gathering my grandma announced that I must have "very potent breastmilk." Thanks, Grandma...

He's in 6 month clothes and I'm about to bust out some 9 month clothing....can't believe it!!!

My baby is a chubster! She is in the 90th percentile for weight, but more than that, she's always just had rolls upon rolls upon rolls. She's currently 9 months and her chunkiness is what i get the most questions/comments about! It still bothers me at times, but I try my best to ignore the comments and usually just say, 'yup, I love her rolls so much!' Cuz I do she's getting to be mobile and hasn't slimmed down much, but she's EBF and I figure she's still young. I may be biased, but I think fat babies are the cutest!!

Yeah, I'm getting bothered by the comments too but people's opinions don't mean much as long as he's healthy and my dr. Isn't concerned. You LO looks adorable in your avatar pic!

Some of your babies are bigger than my 2 year old! She was (is!) breastfed, so it just goes to show that every baby is different. You CAN NOT overfeed a breastfed baby - they are perfectly able to eat as much as they need, and then stop. You made that baby, and you made him perfect.

@jh524: I TOTALLY agree! I always wished that my skinny little baby would chub up. Never did, and it broke my heart! Also, my daughter didn't drop down to 5 feeds a day until she was 18 months old. I would have KILLED to have a 4 month old who nursed that little. I think I just make skim milk!

My baby is ten weeks ebf and is 14lbs and 24 inches long. I get comments but I just call him my super baby! BM does amazing things. Chubby babies are awesome! Gotta love the rolls!

My LO is almost 6wks and has so far been on the 9th centile for weight and height. She hasnt even reached the weight I was at birth yet. She has literally no chub whatsoever and people are often commenting how skinny she is and she must be starving etc.

My lo was jumbo sized until she became mobile. I miss the rolls! She's still super tall but only 80% in weight now. We had a lot of the same comments but I felt OK about it knowing it was healthier for her to have weight to spare rather than be scrawny.
Even being mom to a jumbo baby I'm still surprised when I see huge babies. I met a 28# 33" nine month old this week. Totally healthy, just big. Turns out his dad is 6'11".

@jh524: I was a chubby breastfed baby. I had no interest in crawling or walking so I became a ridiculously chubby toddler. It all evened out when I weaned around 18 months. The only lasting effect is the shocked reaction I get when people see my baby pictures.

Sounds similar to my boy! He is 20 weeks old, EBF, and weighs over 18 lbs and is over 25” tall. I do get tired of the constant comments about baby bodies, but I just try to enjoy my healthy guy. The only downside is how fast he grows out of clothes, but even that is evening out now. Your baby sounds adorable and healthy!

My grandma always says I must be producing cream, since DS has always been chunky. 7 months later and he's not really mobile, but still chunky.
I wish we only nursed 5 times a day!

@ALV91711: nursing five times a day is so nice...I remember like it was yesterday when he was nursing ten times a day and woohoo am I happy those days are done. Although I still loved it;five times is so manageable. I think it's because he doesn't wake in the night for a feeding...my "cream" as I call it, curbs his hunger until morning.....And I'm thankful for that!

He's almost 6months old and weighs 24.5 lbs and 27 inches long. I cannot carry him in his car seat anymore. It's way too heavy ! I need suggestions!!!
He is EBF and very proportionate, already rolling over both ways, very active. Just huge... How do I carry this big boy!

I'm a mom to a skinny babe. At 6 months, he was 14lb 15oz and 27". I still think he's the cutest baby ever! He eats pretty well most of the time - it just doesn't stick on him I guess!

I get worried because my baby is short and chubby. She's 8th percentile for height and 50th for weight. I try try try try not to stress about it but since I have weight issues it's hard.

@jh524: Wow! Just baby-wear in a carrier or always use a stroller as much as possible? That's what I have to do anyway even for my petite girl because of my hand problems.
