Ok, I know a yawn is a sleep cue. But would you think a 2m old baby is tired if -- 30 mins after a two hour nap -- he yawned? I am trying to figure out R's sleep cues still because he can stay awake for hours without being fussy. I'm guessing the yawn was related to the last nap? I swear, I've done this before

If the yawn was more than once, then I would guess a sleep cue. Could it be boredom?

@winniebee: for C it was a sleep cue and in the first few months she would often be ready for a nap less than an hour after getting up. She slept all the time! She would sleep at least 10 hours overnight, nurse, get dressed, do some tummy time and be ready for her first nap within 45-60 minutes. That first nap would be like 2-3 hours. Then she's nurse, tummy time, and be ready for another nap less than an hour later. She slept almost 20 hours a day - I was home all the time when she was a baby

D's max wake time was around 45 minutes for a while, so being tired at 30 doesn't sound too crazy.

I would take it as a sleep cue... maybe going through a growth spurt?

I read that the amount of time of the nap won't equal the length of time up....

Turns out he was tired. About 10 mins later yawned a few more times. Got him down and big brother woke him up. Classic!

I remember reading that if they start yawning they should already be in bed. LO1 would start yawning within 30-45 minutes of the first nap- so that sounds about right.
Sorry big brother woke him up!

Yawning is a sign of over tiredness.

It would be. K only stays up for 45 min up to hour and a half. Since that includes nursing, she is really awake and "free" for like 15-20 min!
