We speak only English but my MIL speaks Japanese and my parents speak Chinese to my LO. I hope LO learns both languages!

Yup! With my mom here now we are speaking Fujianese, Cantonese and English to her. I need to take it upon myself to speak Cantonese to her daily so she picks up Cantonese and English fluently.

We speak English at home. We live in Tokyo, so everyone else speaks to her in Japanese. My mom speaks Japanese to her too, when she does Facetime from the US.

I'm so jealous of all of you! We try so hard to expose our girls to different languages, but I fear I'm falling very short. At least Lala's school goes Spanish immersion when she turns three. We're working very hard on building her Spanish vocabulary now.

Yes, she will be. English and Swedish at home. My mom will speak to her (on Skype) in Tagalog and English. My grandma might throw in some Ilocano words whenever they "talk". We live in Sweden so everyone else will talk to her in Swedish.

English and French. I'm not much of a French speaker but it's my husband's first language, so that's what he speaks with her.

@mrs.cowgirl: I know what you mean! When I was home with my son all day when he was a newborn, we spoke 100% korean to him. After I went back to work, I somehow just started mixing it up (korean/english). I'm inconsistent about it though so I wonder if he's confused!. Like I'll say "You want a cookie? Yes? Gwajah? Yes? Kaka Yes?" hahaha. He's probably like "Is it cookie or gwajay or kaka or WUUUT??" I'm trying to be more consistent so that he'll start talking soon!

DD is exposed to Cantonese when my parents are around but that is not often. She is going to start going to Mandarin classes in a few months though.
