I just had the best pumping session of my breastfeeding "career" and then, as I was unhooking, dropped one of the bottles on the floor of my office, spilling milk all over my outfit and the carpet.
Most of it was salvaged, but ugh, so depressing!!

Nooooooooooooo! I have spilled before, too, and I had to have several moments of silence before I was ready to just accept that it was gone.

Oh no! I had a bottle tip over on me and had to count to 10 so I wouldn't start crying. Hopefully it's not too noticeable on your outfit!

I think this is the only time it's okay to cry over spilled milk! We work so hard to harvest that liquid gold. It happens to the best of us. I'm glad you were able to salvage most of it!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I'm so sorry. Moment of silence for your lost liquid gold.

@ninja: @anbanan15: Seriously, I don't even know why that is a saying! Spilled milk is DEFINITELY a topic to cry over.

I get upset when I lose a drop, not to mention spilling. How many times have you hit the flange trying to get every single drop out?

Ahh.. no! I spilled my first ever pumped bottle & cried like a baby. My husband laughed at me. I punched him.

Ugh! I am so sorry! The first time I did it I just froze at first, looking at it all on the floor until I finally realized there was nothing I could

When I had an over supply, I was not worried about dropping milk at all. Now that my supply seems to have taken a hit, I am terrified of this happening!

UGH. I cried when I had to dump all my thrush milk stash! It was like, 20 oz. I think it's totally acceptable to cry over spilled milk!

@sorrycharlie: I got mastitis when I was working on building a freezer stash for the first time. The thought of throwing all of that out was so traumatizing.

@sorrycharlie: just so you know for the next time, you don't have to dump a thrush stash. Mark the bottles and mix with fresh milk over a few days. That is what my LC told me.

Ugh, has happened to me. What's worse is when someone else handling it drops it. Ugh (someone who was helping me out early on)....

@Ms.SK: Please tell me this isn't true - I tossed so much thrush milk
@highwire: UGH the worst. I am crying for you.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@littlebittyhouse: I tossed it too! My LC told me it wasn't okay to keep.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! I dropped an entire bottle (4.5 ounces) down the sink after a pump session once. I almost cried.
Okay.. maybe i did cry! It was horrible!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Ms.SK: omg, seriously??! I mean I was just creating an "emergency" freezer stash but I still wanted to die throwing that all out, but I was afraid to get thrush again if it was in the milk!

Oh no, I'm so sorry! I dropped a bottle once (and couldn't salvage it) and burst into tears--and I really only have them for when we go out! And of course LO woke up screaming and hungry about 5 minutes later...

@MsLipGloss: @littlebittyhouse: @MsLipGloss: @sorrycharlie: I think there is a lot of different information out there it is hard to get a straight answer. But your milk normally has some level of yeast in it and it takes a lot to cause a thrush outbreak. That is my LC's opinion.

OOHHH NOOOOO.... Sorry to hear it! I worry about this EVERY time I unhook & transfer milk from one bottle to another and think about how sad it will be if i drop any!

Hugs. I spilled milk after worrying about not having enough for the next day. I cried and went to bed.

DH tossed a few ounces of milk because he thought it was formula that had been out too long. We had a big discussion about smelling it if you aren't sure, or just don't toss it until you ask me!

Ugh! So sorry! I dumped a bottle the other day and was pretty unimpressed with myself. Also, I had excess lipase early on (that magically resolved itself), and I had to dump at least 100 ounces of milk that S wouldn't touch
