I'm officially out this month. But I'm super stoked that today is day 39 & I just started spotting on my own (grown up time may have helped, lol)! Last cycle was 3 months long & had to induce AF with provera, so 39 days is awesome! I'm not pregnant, but this is a great step toward it! I wonder if I O'ed somewhere in there... I didn't get a + OPK, but I also gave up & stopped doing them at some point. I def didn't have any EWCM. I have to decide if I wanna keep up with the acupuncture where I'm at now, or seek out somewhere that does the zappy kind. I'm feeling pretty positive about things right now which is refreshing, haha.
Baby dust to the rest of you who are still in for aug! And I'll see some of you for a BFP filled sept!

@mrs. bird: Awww, I'm sorry that you're out, but I'm happy your cycle was more normal this time around! That's definitely a good sign! And you have a great attitude about it! I hope your cycles continue to normalize and you get your BFP soon!!!

@JoJoGirl: Oh I'm so jealous you have a CBEFM now!! I wish they weren't so expensive cause that would ease so much stress for me. I sure hope it works for you dear!!!

@mrs. bird: sorry you're out!! Horray for a shorter cycle though! Did you just come off the pill, I can't remember?

@mrs. bird: Sorry you're out!!!
@Crisark: Haha I know, I'm so excited! If I get my BFP with it, it's yours
I was trying to wait for AF but I caved at 12dpo and tested - stark white. Figured!

@sslm: came off BC a year ago in may. cycles have just gotten longer and longer since then, until this month- wohoo!!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@mrs. bird: I had a similar issue coming off the pill! Went off in July last year, cycles were something like 35, 46, 46, 58, pregnant, mc, 10 weeks to get my period, 30, and then this one I ovulated on day 30 so it would have been about 44 had I not gotten pregnant. Good news is it seems I must have been ovulating :). Charting might be an excellent option for you!
bananas / 9628 posts
@sslm: hubs is not keen on charting and i'm not a good sleeper, so sleeping 4 straight hours is rare for me. i'd love to do it though, i bought a thermometer & downloaded FF with full intentions of starting, but then DH went on some rant about how if i start throwing thermometers & charts at him, it'll be to much pressure and he's afraid we'll loose all of the enjoyment of 'grown up time'. i wanna yell, 'dude, it's been 15 months of not stressing you out, but you getting it whenever ya want. if i wanna stick a thermometer in my mouth each morning, get over it!' haha. i can go get stuck with needles each week and see drs & whatnot, but heaven forbid we stress him out! oy. maybe i'll just do it anyway =)
did you use OPKs or were you just basing when you were gonna O off your charts/CM? i gave up on the OPK thinking if it was so late in the cycle, even if i did O, it wouldn't work 'cause my lining wouldn't be good by then. hmmmm.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@mrs. bird: I didn't use OPKs because I figured it would have cost me a fortune with how erratic my cycles were!! I went off of CM to know when we should BD and temps to confirm that it happened. I'm lucky that I got pretty consistent and reliable CM. As for your hubby, I would just tell him that without it you're really risking missing your actual window, and after 15 months you'd really like to try it. I mean, would he rather go in for a sperm sample and testing when there could be absolutely nothing wrong but timing??? I hope he comes around
pomegranate / 3398 posts
@JoJoGirl: Oh honey I want you to get a BFP cause you deserve it. And once that happens if you want to pass along the CBEFM that's up to you. The important thing is getting you a baby
bananas / 9628 posts
@Crisark: I wanna order one too! I've been looking on Craigslist & eBay hoping to find a super cheap one. I wonder how much ppl spend on the sticks each month too though. I have super long cycles, so I don't know if it'd be worth it for me to spend the $$. I'm a nanny & DH works in a last resort facility for special needs children, so needless to say, we're lacking in the $$ department I feel like I've spent so much on things to pee on at this point, it's a lil ridiculous! Although, the sooner I get KU, the sooner I stop shelling out $$ each week for acupuncture, so maybe it would save me some... I may use that approach to convince DH to let me buy one! I bet if you bought a used one you could recoup most of what you spent on the monitor itself.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@mrs. bird: That was how I rationalized it too when I was trying to decide about spending the money. Like if it's this vs. IVF or something, may as well invest here. I read somewhere you can use the digital OPK sticks in the monitor (which they sell for cheaper...) but haven't tried that myself so can't vouch for it yet. I should be starting to use it this week when AF comes so I'll report back
oh also since the one I have is used, I can tell you I went through the whole process of resetting the thing and erasing the memory. Took a little digging to find the instructions but it was really easy. The poor monitor told me it was day 99 of my cycle when I turned it on. ha ha.

Alright ladies, now I'm just confused! <TMI warning> last night after DH & I had sex, when I went to the bathroom, there was some dark brown tinted CM when I wiped. That is normal for me the day before my period starts, so being CD 39, it made sense. This AM there was even less when I went to the bathroom & now nothin so WTH was that?? It's not my period, it was dark, so it couldn't have been fresh blood from rough sex... So am I still in the same cycle? I'm so annoyed!

@mrs. bird: I don't think you're at CD1 yet if there isn't red flow.. what's happening today? Also have you tested?

@JoJoGirl: tested this morning, just in case, BFN. still nothin today =(

@mrs. bird: hmmmm. bummer. well, hang in there - she'll either come or she won't. Limboland is the worst

Hi everyone! Just checking in. I guess I am now in my TWW? Not sure though as I am not charting or anything, I tried to use the Target brand OPK but it was bugging me out and I never got a positive. So my cycles are usually 29-31 days long, it's CD20 for me, so I'm assuming I'm in my TWW? Who knows. I have no expectations this cycle. But I am anxious to see what happens!
@mrs. bird: I get random brown/dark brown CM through my cycle too, I don't know what it means though haha sorry for not being helpful whatsoever.

cantaloupe / 6017 posts
my guess of 8/12 was a bit early, but I tested today and fertility friend has me at 10 dpo. Today was a BFN. going to try to hold out and wait until Wednesday (12 dpo) to test again, because I feel pretty discouraged right now (even though its so early!).
I've been totally exhausted for two days now- like the kind of tired that just hurts inside my body. I can't get motivated at work- feel like I'm ignoring my clients & struggling to stay focused on them. I really just want to know if its PMS or early pregnancy so that I can stop the crazy-making wondering!
Can't decide if I'd rather feel hopeful or convinced that I'm not! I bounce back and forth between which is a better state of mind for me right now!

@Beetones: Maybe our odds are lower this month for BFPs after such a big July?! Hope not!
@mountainmama: Hang in there!

@JoJoGirl: thanks, you've been so sweet and supportive! I really appreciate it!

@mountainmama: Hugs!
@Beetones: Oh dear that means I'm up to bat. I'll test tomorrow if AF doesn't show. I don't even have a glimmer of hope for a BFP so ready to gear up for September!

@JoJoGirl: I've heard a lot of ladies say they did not get any symptoms the month (s) of their BFP's. So look upon August with anticipation of good news m'lady....
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@Beetones: For my own sanity I'll expect AF and be pleasantly surprised by any other outcome. I think this being my 5th month (and first without symptoms!) I've resigned myself to "it's never going to happen" instead of expecting the opposite every month. Defensive pessimism?
clementine / 770 posts
@JoJoGirl: LOL @ Defensive Pessimism, that's the spirit. Fingers crossed for you too
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@jojogirl: I think I'm in the same mindset, it's easier for me to believe there is not a chance this is our month. That's how I was in March (April POAS) and I got a BFP so maybe thats the trick! Low expectations?
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@alison206: Haha I guess we'll see tomorrow It has made the TWW way less stressful, I can say that!

we've still got a few more weeks, ladies!! i'm hoping for a strong finish
@JoJoGirl: if it helps, i had zero symptoms this month when i got my BFP, and a ton of phantom symptoms the month before. hoping this is your month!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@sylvie_b: Well, temp dropped to coverline this morning. Expecting AF any minute. Thought being sure it wasn't our month would make this easier but I'm still so bummed. Onto cycle 6.

@JoJoGirl: I'm so sorry. Thinking of you, and hoping that next month will be your month. Take care of yourself today.
