@Mrs.Someone: Do you know which tests you had for your thrombophilia work-up? There may be a few I can't do right now (on BCPs) but all of the genetic ones should still be fine. I had all of the APLA testing and that came back negative.
ETA: Also, to anyone who took Lovenox or heparin...how long did you take it during your successful pregnancy?
pomelo / 5228 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I didn't have a whole lot of the genetic tests, just Factor V, thrombophilias, and karyotyping. I already had a lot of that information since we did 23&Me (before the restrictions). Here's a link to the tests that found the answer. They are all autoimmune tests, I tested in the "gray area" for 3 of them. Unfortunately, many doctors don't believe in autoimmune issues being a cause of IF/RPL.
I went on Lovenox about a week after ovulation. It would've been a few days sooner, but we were waiting for test results to get back. I stayed on it until 36w pregnant, then switched to heparin which stays in your blood stream for less time (prep for delivery). Postpartum, I was back on Lovenox for 4 weeks, and continued baby aspirin for 6.

Have you guys ever felt that an embryo just HASN'T taken? I know I'm only 2dp5dt but I just don't feel it.

@jaguar: No...but I'm so sorry you're feeling low. Still sending lots of positive and sticky vibes to you and FX!!!

@FliegepilzHut: Thanks chick. Trying not to be negative but I'm just really nervous.

@jaguar: Hopefully LO is just finished hatching and trying to get good and burrowed in! I know how hard this must be...but please don't count yourself out just yet!

@jaguar: Also wanted to send tons of really positive vibes your way!!! I know how hard it is, but we are all so excited and hopeful for you!!

Started Lupron injections on Saturday. I am so sick of needles!! But three down and only 26 (ouch!) more to go ! Don't remind me about the PIO - I'm in denial about that for now.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@GreenThumb: Wow, lots of needles. We won't talk about the POI for now
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@GreenThumb: Yeah...I had some pretty intense dread just thinking about the possibility of another fresh cycle. But, yes, this is/will be TOTALLY worth it!
pear / 1986 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I know! We will have to seriously consider our options if this cycle doesn't work. While we would still have 4 embryos frozen, it is tough to keep going back to WI for transfers. And I'm not sure I have it in me to do a fresh cycle again, so I'm not sure what we will do. Just hoping for the best!!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@GreenThumb: That is a hard decision...hopefully one you won't have to make! Are you planning to transfer 1 or 2 at a time (I'm sure you've answered that before, I just can't remember)? Also, is there any way to safely transfer frozen embryos between clinics?
pear / 1986 posts
@FliegepilzHut: We will transfer two embryos so hopefully those little ones will do the trick! Are you doing one or two? Yes, they can transfer the embryos to a new clinic but my RE doesn't recommend it (although they will help us do it if we want to). Their rationale was that their embryologists are most familiar with their methods of freezing and thawing so that there is a higher chance of success. But I would think that any reputable RE clinic would have good embryologists capable of thawing another clinics embryos. Still the whole idea of traveling embryos makes me nervous.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@GreenThumb: We've decided on 2. We may have a third left over, but otherwise, I suppose that's a little bit of "insurance" in case one doesn't thaw well. That makes sense...but I agree that a reputable lab, if they're using the same technique, should be able to manage defrosting without much difficulty. It's nerve-wracking to think about transporting embryos. On the other hand, I can't really imagine leaving "extra" embryos, if you were still planning to grow your family. I am getting SO EXCITED ...and also nervous because we've never had a successful pregnancy yet.

@jaguar: Thinking of you! Staying positive for you! Hugs!!
So I had my suppression check & injection teaching yesterday and my E2 levels are good... actually she said perfect! Injections start on Wednesday!! So happy to start phase 1, the ER!
Oh, I got my IVF packet & calendar for my FET. I got my med list, too. I'll need look at it again and let you know what meds I will be put on.
Question for you all.. for your ER, did you need to take pain meds afterwards? I think I'm getting prescribed Vicodin but I'm wondering if I can just get like a high dose of tylenol or something. Also, were you guys in bed for a few days? I'm planning on taking at least 1-2 (3 if I can manage) days off but I might have to work from home on one of those days.

@bluestriped bee: That's great! It's going to go really quickly once you get started!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@bluestriped bee: I took a couple Tylenol after the ER, I wasn't prescribed anything else and used a heating pad because it felt tender. As far as rest I took the rest of that day off but went back to work the next. I wanted to save my time for ET but I have a desk job that was pretty much the same as sitting on my couch all day!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@bluestriped bee: I don't remember taking any pain meds. I felt pretty good by the day after retrieval but still took it easy!
pear / 1986 posts
@bluestriped bee: So exciting to be moving forward and awesome that everything looks so good!! I did not have any pain meds after my ER and didn't really need anything. I also took the rest of the day off, but was pretty much totally fine the next day. I got pretty bloated/crampy due to the stims/eggs, so there was a sort of feeling of relief after the ER.
@FliegepilzHut: Can you believe it is almost just a month away!! I'm also getting so excited/nervous. I'm really hopeful that the odds are in all of our favors this time around.

@bluestriped bee: I got Vicodin, and I took one the first night, but I probably could have done without it. I was only in bed for the rest of the day of, and I was uncomfortable but not in bed all day the second day. The third day I was back to work, and almost normal, just a little bloated/sore. It was about the same for both ERs.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@bluestriped bee: My retrieval was pretty much painless. I think I took 2 Tylenol (whatever they gave me after I woke up) right after and then was fine the rest of the day. I did even end up going out to help DH paint the house after a short nap the same day :-X
pear / 1556 posts
@bluestriped bee: I was prescribed Tylenol with Codeine and I did take it that day right after. I didn't need any more than that though.

@mrswin: @FliegepilzHut: @GreenThumb: @Shutterbug: @PurplePumps: @Sunshine1810: Great. Thanks everyone! I have a pretty high threshold of pain so I'm hoping just a high dose of Tylenol will be fine.
persimmon / 1316 posts
@bluestriped bee: I think they said just to take tylenol if needed after ER. I just used a heating pad, the pain really wasn't bad at all just a little crampy. I guess dealing with endometriosis I am use to way worse pain.I slept most of the day. After that the bloating kicked in so I wasn't super active but wasn't bed bound. Excited for you to start wed!
persimmon / 1316 posts
@jaguar: Hang in there, its so easy to over analyze symptoms or lack of symptoms after a transfer but that little one could have a mind of its own and implant differently than your others. What day will you start testing?

Hi ladies! I thought I'd pop in to introduce myself. We are about to go into our 2nd IVF cycle (at a new clinic) once my stubborn ovarian cyst goes away! All I do is wait as I'm sure you are familiar with the frustration. My simple cyst is 4.5 cm and I'm pretty sure its residual from my last IVF. I have no pain but I'm worried at how long this is gonna push things back for us. Im on bcp now to help shrink it. Anyone have luck with that?
Anyway, We are dealing with a male factor as my tests all came back normal. Hubby's sperm count is anywhere between 2 and 4 mill. Last IVF however, we had a terrible fertilization rate where out of my ten mature eggs only 2 fertilized with icsi. They transfered them both on day 3 and I had a positive beta but it turned out to be chemical.
This time we did a sperm fragmentation test and are waiting for results. If there's high fragmentation we will probably do TESE which may help with our fertilization rate. All this waiting is exhausting as all i want more than anything is to start like, yesterday.
I'm so glad to have found this TTC community and on Instagram too! I look forward to talking with you ladies!

@leanne82: Hi! It's a bitter sweet welcome to the boards. Sorry you have to be here, but welcome to this supportive community.
I hear ya on the waiting! I'm waiting until January to do my second round of IVF too for insurance purposes.

@Mrs.Pinecone316: I'm a nutjob and tested yesterday at 8dpo. Negative this morning at 9dpo (4dpt) too.

@leanne82: Welcome!
@jaguar: Fingers still crossed for you, lady!

@FliegepilzHut: Yup, today's the day! Posted this on IG and FB!

@leanne82: Welcome! I switched clinics in April after a 3 failed IUIs. My new clinic finally diagnosed me with PCOS and DOR. We tried 3 more IUIs but they didn't work either. Today, I'm starting my injections for our first IVF cycle. I'm so happy to be at this point. Waiting for IVF to start is so much harder than the IUI process.
Hoping switching to your new clinic is just what you need!!

Umm, I'm a bit too eager to start! Today isn't the 23rd... Dammit! I'll call my RE to tell them that I'm an idiot and started early. Ugh! Well, that's a great way to start my stims...
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@jaguar: lol! Do I? I started my stims a day early. Doh! Posted on IG and FB that I'm starting today... Today isn't even the 23rd.
Though I won't admit to FB and IG I got the date wrong. Only you guys will know.
I honestly think I would have made this mistake no matter what. I had in my head for at least the past week that I would start my injections Wed AM.
It wasn't until after I injected myself that I was writing notes on my IVF calendar that I realized I was writing it in the wrong box. Hmm, why am I writing it in Thursday's box? *light bulb went off* Crap! I'm a day early!!!

@bluestriped bee: Oh dear! It's almost the 23rd here in Aus, so you can pretend you're in our time zone.
