@bloved: Crazy right? My husband and I disagree. He wants to do a retrieval regardless and test the old frosty with the new batch, since the odds of it actually being viable are low.
But I see the tiny shred of a possibility that it's viable as "maybe I won't have to do any stims or retrievals!!!" Which is so unlikely but if I did a retrieval and found out we had a good frosty all along I'd be annoyed. Lol. Especially if nothing from that retrieval was good it would really have been for nothing.
It's all so far fetched but I can't help being a tiny bit optimistic.

@winter_wonder: YES!!!!!!!! BFP! Congratulations!!! How many dp5dt are you today? So exciting!!!

@SweetiePie: So if you wait and test with a fresh batch after another retrieval, what would the cost be for thawing and adding it in? I'd probably lean towards waiting as well, and testing with a fresh batch, since it would make me nervous that it hadn't been good enough to get the "passing" grade the first time around. But I don't know really anything about PGS, so forgive me if I'm missing something obvious!

@momazon: 5dp5dt! Funny story, I took a wondfo this morning and only waited like a minute before throwing it in the trash because I didn't think I saw anything. I also did one this evening and re-read the directions that say to wait 5 minutes. As I was waiting I noticed a faint line appearing. I then screamed for my husband to bring me the the unopened box of frer to see if the line would be darker and it was! And like a crazy person, I dug the first wondfo out of the trash and realized it was positive too! I was just too impatient this morning, lol!

@winter_wonder: Haha! Nice one! That is an impressive line for 5dp! You must have a sturdy one in there!!! Stick, little one, stick!!!

@winter_wonder: Congratulations!!!!!
@SweetiePie: That is such a hard decision. I had a hard time with the ER and would want to try to avoid going through that again. I totally understand how you can't help but want to be optimistic. But then there is the cost factor and the odds of this one actually still being viable. I would be so torn on this one. Good luck making a decision.

@winter_wonder: congrats!!! So exciting! H&h9!!!
@SweetiePie: you were the one asking me about twins, right? Let's say u thaw this one and it turns out viable and you have a baby. Would u want to retrieve to try for a third or would u be done? How much would it cost extra to thaw and if viable, add to another transferred egg?
For your situation, I'm leaning towards adding it with retrieved egg. Only because it's hard to get one viable egg. Also, since your hubby is leaning towards retrieval.... I'd prolly just try for this egg if 3600 is no big deal.... Reallllllly hard decision.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone I'm trying not to over analyze the darkness of the line on my remaining wondfos! Friday can't come soon enough!!!!!

Hi all! Popping in here to introduce myself! I just had my third failed iui (well AF is due Friday, but bfn on frer today), and will be going on bc to start my ivf cycle. Really boring history, ttc for 18 months, completely unexplained infertility. Im really nervous about this whole experience but antsy to get the show on the road!
persimmon / 1479 posts
@MrsKRB: I'm sorry your third IUI is looking like a bust but, I hope you have success with ivf!
persimmon / 1479 posts
@PurplePumps: thank you any updates on your end? How are you doing?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@winter_wonder: Last cycle was a bust. AF showed up a whole 2 days earlier, even on Endometrin. It sucked. I'm doing an injectiable TI or IUI cycle now since I had meds left over. Not expecting much from it though, but figured why not. I have 4 consults lined up, 1 down 3 to go to see what other doctors have to say, then will be picking between RMANJ and CCRM for my hail mary next year.

@PurplePumps: I'm so sorry it's great you have 4 consults lined up, I really, really hope you get some answers. I've been thinking about you lately

@MrsKRB: Welcome! I'm sorry you have to be here, but hopefully you'll find tons of support from those of us in the same position! Wishing you tons of luck and a smooth cycle!
kiwi / 613 posts
@PurplePumps: I'm really sorry about how things went again with your most recent cycle. I don't know if this is an insensitive question, or too soon, but are you open to donor eggs at all? I'm so thankful we finally moved on to them, even though my cycles always "seemed" to go ok ... But I definitely wasn't ready until we'd tried several times with my own first.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@momazon: Oh no, it's ok. But no, we're not interested in donor eggs or embryos. We've discussed it, and for us, it's going to be bio kids or childfree.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@PurplePumps: hey, hope you're doing ok
I just saw your post about consults and RMANJ. I'm actually going to RMA in NYC. My doc just moved to that practice about a year ago, he treated me at his previous practice. He's really great, not sure if NYC is an option for you but I can wall you if you want his info.

@PurplePumps: I'm sorry for your previous cycle.
I'm dipping my toes back in, since our mandatory break is over - we're preparing for a FET in the next little while. Very nervous, since they'll be thawing and growing the day 1's.
persimmon / 1114 posts
@SweetiePie: Wow that is such a hard decision. I also hate fresh cycles, so I would be leaning towards trying this embryo out. Did you make a decision?
@PurplePumps: I am so sorry your cycle was a bust. Are you in NJ? I have a friend who used RMANJ and had success with her ivf, but I have also heard that they are very much like a factory and if you don't "fit the mold" of infertility they don't really deviate off course. Then again, I know they have amazing numbers.
@jaguar: Welcome back and good luck with your FET. Do you know when your transfer is scheduled for?
nectarine / 2465 posts
@PurplePumps: I hope you can find answers with a practice
@jaguar: Good luck with your next FET
Negative bloodtest today, so just waiting for AF to show (should have been here today), eager to get this process started!

@bloved: I'm in MA, but willing to travel at this point. I had just figured I'd go to CCRM since they are known as being the best, but after some research I found RMA, and they seemed to have great numbers too and would be a 4 hr drive vs flight, plus my uncle lives near there so it'd be a lot of savings. I read that that both of them are very factory like with no handholding... that's ok with me, I know the drill and just want a place that can give me results.
@SweetiePie: I looked into some place in NYC including Cornell and SIRM, but I'm not really interested in the hassles of city driving and parking. Thanks though!
I had a phone consult with MCRM on Tuesday and his recommendation after reviewing my info was that I should be going back on antagonist protocol with Menopur, and Lupron trigger or some combo of HCG. Funny enough, my doctor called me today and said their team had reviewed my case, and suggested the same thing as MCRM. Now I'm really curious to see if the other consults say the same. And if so... does it really matter where I go? WWYD? Give your clinic another shot with this new protocol or still try another place with better numbers... ?
persimmon / 1479 posts
@PurplePumps: I feel like I might try somewhere new if that's an option. I don't really have strong reasoning for this, but I think it's what I would do.

First beta was today:325 at 10dpt. I go back on Monday for a second.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@PurplePumps: We had this dilemma last stim cycle. Both clinics (old and new) suggested the same protocol. We decided to stick with the old clinic for ONE LAST TRY and it ended up biting us in the bum. I wish I'd moved then and there, in hindsight.
@MrsKRB: Thanks hon x
@bloved: We're scheduled for thawing the day 1's this coming Wednesday, and provided we have something on day 5, transfer is Monday the 20th July.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@winter_wonder: @jaguar: I agree with you guys. Something is just telling me to try another place too. We will most likely go to CCRM. I think I'm trying to convince myself to go to RMANJ to save on flight and lodging cost, but deep down I want to go to the place with the reputation as the best. DH is on board and thinks we should go all out if we are going to do any travel at all.

@PurplePumps: I hope it helps. I think sometimes fresh eyes can be a good thing.
persimmon / 1479 posts
@bloved @momazon: thanks guys!
@purplepumps:good luck to you, I really hope you get some answers at the new place
persimmon / 1114 posts
@PurplePumps: I definitely understand wanting to switch places, as well as wanting to go to a place that has good numbers. I feel like there is also something to be said for the mental health of making a switch too... for me it let me feel like I was taking some control/making positive steps over the situation.
@jaguar: Yay to having a transfer scheduled soon!

Hi ladies! I popped in a few weeks ago to introduce myself as i was waiting the results of my last IUI and contemplating IVF. Well, here we are in our estrogen priming cycle, gearing up to start stimming in August.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's updates, rooting for each of you and soaking in all the love and support that this thread brings!
nectarine / 2465 posts
@YogiRunner: good luck! Do you know what day you are starting stims? I thought I would be stimming in August, but my RE has me on an extended birth control cycle, so I won't start until September 4. Kind of bummed about that, I was hoping for an exciting birthday (Aug 29).
clementine / 849 posts
@MrsKRB: Thanks lady, you too! Right now I'm on an estrogren priming protocol, where I take estrogen in the luteal phase. I anticipate being done with this priming cycle on the 1st of Aug and the stims and monitoring will begin. What a bummer that you're waiting till September, but think of it as going through the very best prep that your body needs for a successful cycle. Have a cocktail on your birthday, hopefully it'll be your last for awhile!
nectarine / 2465 posts
@YogiRunner: I hope so! I'll be following you to see what I have to look forward to
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@YogiRunner: Welcome hon, exciting few months ahead! x
@MrsKRB: The best cycle I've ever had (Georgia's one!) was on a long birth control one... I hope it brings you lots of luck. The waiting sucks, though.
@bloved: Thanks hon. Hopefully Monday, all going well.

I'm dipping a toe in here- hope that's ok! I'm 35, TTC#1 for 2 years. Initially unexplained, then told it was moderate MFI (morphology 4%), then that went up to 5%, told unexplained again. Went to new doc earlier this cycle, who found:
1. elevated prolactin
2. borderline TSH
3. elevated NK cells (34%)
4. AMH 0.2, despite 3 day FSH 6, and 10 day FSH of 6 on a femara cycle
What a roller coaster, and so many things wrong!
RE has started me on cabergoline, synthroid, and prednisone (luteal phase only). We're also adding DHEA, melatonin, and L-arginine to help my eggs. I'm already on femara, ASA, royal jelly, and metformin. The low AMH has expedited our plan and we are now considering IVF. My current thought is to give my body a few months to get prolactin and thyroid under control, do IUI in the meantime just in case), and prepare for IVF. I'm completely freaking out over the AMH and NK cells, especially since we have our heart set on two kids, and hoping getting a little more info on IVF will help me calm down.
nectarine / 2465 posts
@jaguar: thank you, that gives me a lot of comfort! Everything I've googled (need to stop!) is showing women on birth control for a much shorter time frame. I hate waiting but I'm putting my trust in my doctors hands
persimmon / 1114 posts
@MrsKRB: I think I was on birth control for almost 2 months before my first (and only successful) Ivf. I would not worry about it!
@AmeliaBedilia: @YogiRunner: welcome!
