@Winnie13: Nothing yet! But I heard from my coordinator today and she spoke to my doc. I'm going in tomorrow (that lovely 7am time slot!) for a blood test to see where I'm at in my cycle. If it's still early enough I can still start BCP
So we'll see! But I'm honestly at peace with it either way it goes.
@yellowbeach: Woohoo! Glad to hear this! And yeah, @winnie13: said it right. We all have different journeys but want the same result. I LOVE seeing any IVF'er get a BFP. It gives me so much joy and hope

@SweetiePie: Any news from the doc this morning? Hoping you get to get rolling!

So last night I was feeling mild cramps on the left and managed to convince myself I have an ectopic pregnancy. This is where working in the medical field is definitely NOT helpful. Trending my HPTs until tomorrow's Beta. Like everyone else I keep wondering if you ever get to stop worrying.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@yellowbeach: not yet! They said I'll definitely hear back today but it won't be till after 12pm. It was just a quick blood draw otherwise.
Another positive - I was able to move my 7am monitoring appointments to a location that's walking distance from home! I didn't realize that was an option before. So I don't have to schlep across the city in a cab fighting traffic. And it's a nice walk so I can take my time on the way back and get a coffee or smoothie. My consolation prize for the early morning waking and needling and wanding
Your test progression looks great!

@yellowbeach: cramping is good! I had so many cramps during the week (before and after) of my positive.
@SweetiePie: yay for close monitoring!

@yellowbeach: Wow! Look at that line! Praying for amazing results tomorrow!

So, I missed day 3, but by a lot more than I expected! I'm about 2 weeks from getting another period according to my bloodwork today. I did have a bit of spotting a week and a half ago but I was still in my active pills of my BCP so I thought I just took one pill a little late and had a bit of spotting. I guess for whatever reason that was my period!
So good news is that at least I didn't JUST miss day 3 and have to wait a month for my next period. I missed it by a lot so at least I only have to wait a couple of weeks
I feel like they think I'm nuts, like I don't know what a period is. Lol. But it's seriously almost nonexistent right now. I hope that isn't a bad thing!

@yellowbeach yay such great news!!!!!! keep on climbing beta!
@sweetiepie that is also great news. the waiting is one of the worst parts of this whole IF mess. I was so irritated waiting for AF this month and told my DH I have never been more happy to see her! Also kind of jealous you have a non-existent flow! Hope AF shows up soon so you can be a cycle buddy with me!
honeydew / 7463 posts
@yellowbeach: yayayay! Congrats! Grow baby grow!
@Mrs. Pajamas: Thanks! Yeah the super light AF is great, except for things like this Now I kinda wish I had a distinguishable AF! Hope we can get on a similar schedule, would be nice to be cycle buddies for sure
Question for everyone - what did/do you do about travel? I'm supposed to go visit family next week and I'm paranoid I'll get AF while I'm there and miss CD3 again. It's my mom and nephews birthdays and I've had it planned for months so I don't think I can skip it. Should I ask my RE if there's a lab there they recommend? (It's a different state).
nectarine / 2648 posts
@SweetiePie: Thanks! As for your test, I would think you could go to any LabCorp and they could do it.
pear / 1881 posts
@SweetiePie: I am not sure about travel, but I would certainly ask your RE. I completely understand the desire to not push it back again!
honeydew / 7463 posts
@yellowbeach: @NorthStar: thanks! I spoke to my coordinator and she said that if I get it while I travel to just take an hpt to make sure I'm not pregnant (which, I'm not, as I hear you have to have sex to get pregnant
) and then call them for the BCP start date and to schedule tests for my return. So she didn't say I should get cd3 testing done, but also didn't say that I would be delayed another whole cycle.

1st beta: 160
2nd beta: 356
I cheated and looked in the health portal. My RE hasn't called yet. Anything I should ask them? Should I expect to be given an US date?
pear / 1881 posts
@yellowbeach: yay! That is awesome! Yes, ask about an ultrasound date. Are you on any meds (estrogen/progesterone)? I would also ask how long you would be expected to take them. I stopped mine at 10 weeks. They are so dang expensive, so I wanted to know how long I had to take them.

@yellowbeach: That's wonderful!! Ditto to @Northstar!
@SweetiePie: LOL!!! Sex... what is that??? Poor DH! Between Egg retrieval and OHSS he hasn't gotten ANY... Just when I start feeling better... guess who shows today?? LOL! Poor thing! Glad you were a little later in your cycle and you're still on track! Hopefully once you start BC you can get the ball rolling! I start mine in about 2 days!
@Mrs. Pajamas: What CD are you on?
nectarine / 2648 posts
@Winnie13: I'm so glad you brought up the sex thing. I feel like that's been the great irony of IVF - all these hormone meds finally ramping up my libido. I'm feeling like a frisky 22 year-old and and I'm not allowed to do anything about it

Girls, my heart is just broken right now. I know this is a place to vent and find some encouragement!
**Trigger warning**
My brother and sister-in-law have been trying to get pregnant for nearly 7 years now. They started their IVF journey about 2 1/2 years ago. They were successful their very 1st time and were over the moon. Sadly, they miscarried at 16 weeks. She did a FET with their only embie and it ended with a negative. They did another ER and implanted all 3 embies and that ended with a CP. They did another ER and it was successful, only to miscarry at 8 weeks. It was devastating. They did another ER and they got 3 embies. They implanted 2 and it ended with a CP. They just transferred their last little embie 2 weeks ago and received a negative result on Friday. It's so hard to understand why they are going through all this, but I would appreciate any prayers and positive thoughts for them. I don't know what their next steps will be, but I'm just praying they get their sweet miracle. I know that is all what we want at the end of this IF journey.

@Winnie13: I'm so sorry to hear about your brother and his wife - what a horrible journey they've been on, trying so hard to welcome a child into the world. Hopefully they are working with great doctors who can help them navigate all the additional testing and treatments, etc to make their dream a reality. I'll say a prayer for them and send all the best wishes that their journey ends happily. I went through three IUIs, six fresh own-egg IVF cycles, one frozen cycle and three (early) miscarriages before I moved on to the donor egg IVF cycle that brought me a healthy pregnancy and my perfect little son. We went through a ton to bring this little guy here, and I'm thankful that we were able to keep moving forward after each failure along the way. Sending tons of positive thoughts towards your family during this long struggle.

@Winnie13: ugh that's so difficult - I'm sure they are understandably devastated. I will say that sometimes God rewards people after struggle. My best friend just called me today to say they are 9weeks pregnant with their little accident. They went through 6 IUIs, 5 rounds of IVF including 4 retrievals and 2 miscarriages before they had their IVF twins. This time they weren't even trying and conceived this little miracle. I'm hoping your brother and SIL can find the same reward at the end of their journey.

@Winnie13: My heart hurts for them. It's bad enough to go through IF and to keep having to go through treatments is absolutely heart wrenching. Praying for them.

@Winnie13: I'm so heartbroken for your brother and SIL. I can't even fathom so many roadblocks. I'll pray that they get their miracle soon, one way or another. ️

@Winnie13 Oh my gosh I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through and my heart hurts so much for them. I mean, I have been through what I feel like is hell to build my family but their story really seems like a whole other level. Wow. i know they will get their miracle in the end but I'm sending so much love for them and your whole family.
You asked a few days ago about where I am in my cycle. I am CD9 today. So on BC for a little less than 2 more weeks and awaiting results of PGD on our 5 frosties. Transfer is set for 9/7.
@LoveHope @yellowbeach how are you lucky ladies feeling these days? any u/s appts on the horizon?

Thank you all so much for your love, support, thoughts, prayers, and encouragement. It's so hard to see the ones you love suffer so much! I know their miracle will come and I'm praying for their next steps!
@Mrs. Pajamas: I'm not too far behind you. Today is CD 5. I'll be on Lupron starting on the 20th, then I slowly start in the estrodial and then the PIO about a week before transfer. Mine is the 22nd!! Praying for awesome results!! When do you think you'll hear?

@Winnie13: I'm just now seeing the update on your brother and SIL. That's horrible. I watched my sister go through the same thing. She ultimately had to go the donor egg route and I volunteered to be her egg donor! Too bad (or maybe better, depending how you feel) you can't be an egg donor in your situation because (a) he's your brother, and (b) you are going through your own IVF stuff. I never thought at the time that I was donating my own then-fabulous eggs that I would end up going through IVF myself. Such a crazy turn of events. I wish your brother all the best. Its such an awful time to go through, that's for sure.
nectarine / 2648 posts
@agold: I love hearing stories of egg donors and surrogates. What an amazing gift. I don't know much about egg donation, but were you able to use any of your younger eggs, or is it that once they are gifted, even if unused they are gone?
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@yellowbeach: So my sister used all of the eggs and fertilized them with her husband's sperm. So I suppose if I wanted to use one of my eggs mixed with her husband's sperm, I could have. But no, I didn't want that. Plus, she ended up using up all of what she had. With the egg retrieval for my own purposes - about 4 years later - I got much less eggs initially. That was shocking, but not really, I suppose, since I was older. But I had responded so well the first time around that the RE office used to call me frequently for quite a while asking me to be a donor for other couples. Ha! No one is calling me now for that!!

@agold: a little off thread, but these guys are two of my friends. warming story about creating a family.

@yellowbeach: Oh my goodness. What an amazingly sweet story!!! Wow. The sister doing traditional surrogacy is truly amazing. That's beyond what I think I could do. (Although I also never thought I could donate my own eggs, but I did!) My sweet sister said she'd be a surrogate for me in a heartbeat if that is what I needed. Obviously none of this was like a quick easy decision, but its what worked out best for my family.

@agold: That is just beautiful!! That is wonderful you were able to help your sister like that! How so very special! Thank you for your well wishes!
@yellowbeach: What a sweet story! Thanks for sharing!! How are you feeling?
nectarine / 2648 posts
@Winnie13: Feeling good! Night before last I was feeling nauseated, but I was also taking care of two patients with hyperemesis gravidarum at work, so it was probably in my head. Otherwise just trying to keep myself busy until our 6wus a week from today

@yellowbeach: Congrats!!
Well, I had to take some time off after being down that we only ended up with just 2 blasts. I thought we were off to such a good start too. But, with an amazing stroke of luck, both came back pgs normal! (both male too). So we're revisiting some immunology testing since my RE is second guessing the easy assumption that my miscarriage was due to chromosomal issues.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@PurplePumps: PGS normal is great news! If nothing else because it gets you one step closer to figuring out the underlying issue.
Gotta keep on keeping on and we're all here rooting so hard for you!
