@GreenThumb: that sounds rough but you're making progress!
Still waiting. If it didn't make it to freeze, that's one less reason to stay there. I have the second opinion 4/1.

No growth from yesterday. Total failure. He's willing to manage locally if I want to get a second opinion from a distance and recommended Dr. Scott in NJ. I really don't want to go there for egg retrieval and then have our frozens far away. He thinks I might have lymphocytic oophoritis, and that prednisone has a good chance of helping. He doesn't think we should do another full stim since this one went so badly and I did well on femara except no BFP, so recommending mini ivf in June. We might recheck AMH after being on the prednisone for 6-8 weeks. I have a second opinion 4/1 with another local RE. We had an ok cycle in January, which still tells me we might be able to make good embryos. It's just so hard to know what to do/how far to go.

@AmeliaBedilia: oh hun, I'm SO sorry and don't even know what to say. I'm very disappointed in your doctor and that he didn't do more for you prior to starting this cycle. Please take care of yourself. How is your DH holding up through all of this?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: thanks. I haven't heard back from DH but he's more optimistic that the prednisone will work. What do you mean that my doc should have done more before the cycle?
Any suggestions on a discreet way to get records for the guy across town? I'm thinking of asking them to mail me a copy so that I can get them to the NJ guru my RE recommended.
pear / 1881 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: just that it seemed like you were having to be the one that suggested all the different things that you tried this cycle and wish he had come up with more suggestions to make it successful. I would just say that you want to get other opinions (and you have every right to). He really should have no right to be upset or offended. But, if you are worried, then yeah, just see if you can get copies of everything so that you can call a few different places for opinions. The worst that he can do is say 'no'. Good luck
AFM - transfer is scheduled for 12:30 tomorrow, but we are literally getting like a foot of snow. With it being later in the day, hopefully, the roads will be better in the morning. So, we probably wont' go down tonight as planned.
pear / 1986 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Oh no, I am incredibly sorry, too. You've been through so much in such a short amount of time. I think you have every right to request your records. Your RE probably won't even really know since I'm sure the office staff does it. I think it will be really good to hear what the other RE in town thinks.
@NorthStar: Wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Sorry the snow is throwing a bit of a wrench in your plans, but luckily it sounds like you can avoid too much trouble. Can't wait to hear how it goes!!

@NorthStar: Lots of luck for tomorrow!
@AmeliaBedilia: GAH. I am so sorry hun. This blows. I would just be up front and ask for all records. Say you're compiling a history and want to get it organised. Who cares what they think? You deserve to be able to fight for what you feel is important. IVF is such a devastating journey.

@AmeliaBedilia: So sorry to hear that this cycle was so terrible, through and through. I'm just devastated for you. Not fair. I just hope you give yourself some time and space to grieve this and then not think about this stuff for short while. Easier said than done. Maybe another Paris trip?
We were very upfront and matter-of-fact about wanting other opinions. They gave us paper copies so we could make more copies and send them around, without having to put in a authorization form for each doctor we wanted to send it to. That said, we did this before the cycle started, so it wasn't connected with the outcome of the cycle. I'm just saying I get feeling uncomfortable about it. Just do what's easiest and best for you! Take care of you!
@NorthStar: I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

@AmeliaBedilia: I am so sorry and hope you can find a plan you feel comfortable with to move forward
@NorthStar: Good luck and safe driving!!

We transferred the one on bottom right, a hatching blastocyst w 65% pregnancy rate. We also have 2 and possibly one more to freeze. A miracle cycle and the doctor was so happy with how it went. ☘☘

@AmeliaBedilia: Oh no, I'm so sorry for your last update. I would just ask the doctor's office to send you a copy of your records. They don't really ask why and it's usually handled by admins anyways so you don't have to have that weird conversation with the doctor about it. I don't think it should be shocking to them if you want to consult with other doctors either way.
Is that Dr Scott of RMA NJ you're consulting with?? I have read really good things about them/him. I had a consult scheduled last year with him as well (though I ultimately cancelled cause I didn't want to make the drive for it to be covered and didn't want to pay for it). I hope you get some answers soon. *hugs*
@NorthStar: Nice looking blasty... FX for you.
AFM... just prepping for the FET... tentatively scheduled for next Wed pending tomorrows blood/lining check. We've decided to transfer only 2.

@NorthStar: That's a great looking embryo! I'm keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for the best!!!
@PurplePumps: Good luck! FETs happen so quick. I'm hoping for the best for you!!

@NorthStar: What beauties!!! Wishing you so much luck and love during this 2ww! You're off to a great start.

@NorthStar: beautiful!!! Congratulations! Ours looked a lot like that when we were successful....definitely won't be surprised to see your bfp in a few days!!! Are you going to test at home before your beta? Again congratulations!!

@PurplePumps: @agold: @jaguar: @Amorini: @waiting4you: Thank you ladies! We are still in disbelief that we even have any to freeze and hoping this little guy or gal hangs on. I like the idea of naming it like @jaguar: did, but need to some up with something. Something Irish would be fitting
@AmeliaBedilia: How you are doing? I've been thinking of you nonstop and wish you some strength for this weekend.

@NorthStar: I am so glad everything went great! That is a beautiful little embie!!! And wonderful news about having some frosties, too!
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: Thank you! We just got the call that they froze another one today, so we have 3 blasts frozen. Unbelievable..
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: That is amazing news! So... when is your beta?!
@PurplePumps: So exciting that your FET is next week! FX for a great check for you today!! I think transferring 2 is a great decision!
AFM: Suppression check is Monday morning, and then nothing really exciting except estrogen patches and more Lupron until 4/7 when I'll have my lining check. Steady as she goes! DH is headed to Switzerland the week after the transfer (PHEW!!) so at least I can practice the PIO on myself when he is still around or have my mom come up for a few days if necessary.
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: Not until the 28th! 11 DPT! I think that the Easter weekend is affecting the beta date because last time, my beta was 9 DPT. There is no way that I'll hold out and will definitely need to test.
You are getting SO close! Yay! Do you have an exact date for your transfer?
@PurplePumps: Sending lots of good vibes for your check today!!!
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: Sure, that makes sense about the beta dates... Wishing you a very fast and stress-free TWW!!
My transfer is scheduled for April 13 (Wednesday), so still some time between now and then, but less than a month!

For those of you who did FETs, were you kept on a high dose of estrogen until your beta?
This upcoming FET is the first one we've done with this RE. I noticed according to the protocol, we ramp up on the estrogen (up to 4 patches) up until the lining check and then scale back down (to 2 patches) until the beta. With my previous FETs I stayed on 4 patches all the way through beta. I haven't had any trouble with my lining (I'm usually concerned about it being too thick), so I'm not worried, just curious about your protocols. TX!

@GreenThumb: This is my first FET, but I'm on the same dose of Estrace the entire time.
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb: i use the suppositories, not the patch and the dose is the same throughout
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: @endymion4: Thanks! After a little more googling, I wonder if they are trying to mimic a natural cycle since it looks like estrogen peaks and then drops after ovulation.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@GreenThumb: I'm on oestrogen pills (3 daily) and have been since the beginning of the cycle, pre-transfer - and have to stay on the same dose up until 12 weeks!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
Wow! I good surprise actually happened this weekend! (Just about as good a surprise as can be aside from a BFP). We got what I was expecting to be a 3k+ bill for genetic screening that my husband did since it was the first thing we did this year since we have a 3k deductible. I swear my heart skips a beat in anticipation of the numbers that I'll see when opening these medical bills.... but they discounted the whole deductible and the bill was less than $100!!
And two more days until transfer!!
pear / 1986 posts
Ok ladies so just had my suppression check. What's the deal if I have a 10mm cyst (the tech called it paraovarian)? Waiting on blood work and a call from the nurse.
pear / 1986 posts
@endymion4: Thanks!
Nurse called and said that they didn't get labs back for the day (she will have to call me tomorrow), but start with my estrogen anyhow. She said lining was a little thick (CD3 and it was 6.something) but the cyst was really small. She wouldn't speculate on anything for me, just gave me some run around about a pregnancy test, to which I laughed my *ss off since I just came off BCPs... WTF?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@GreenThumb: I hope it turns out to be nothing! I know what you mean with the preg test too... sometimes I feel like just telling them to skip the beta and save me a few bucks. I'm like... my period just started or ended, we haven't had sex cause I feel like shit.. I'm pretty sure we can skip that one!
And in more good news... my company just sent out an email saying they will be providing 3 weeks of paid parental leave for mothers and fathers! Hopefully on top of the 6 weeks short term. And hopefully we get to use this perk sometime sooooooooooon...
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@PurplePumps: That is a pleasant surprise - the $$ AND the pat leave.
@GreenThumb: I hope you can find out some more info soon!
pear / 1986 posts
@PurplePumps: @jaguar: Thanks! As much as I can't wait for a transfer, I just don't want them to try and push this cycle through if things are less than ideal. We are getting to the end of the road... only 2 chances left, so I don't want to waste a chance!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@GreenThumb: I totally understand. I don't know about that cyst, but I do always err on the side of a thicker lining, so hopefully they can give you some more insight on that. x
pear / 1881 posts
@PurplePumps: YAY for all the positives you had today!! So wonderful! two more days!! Can't wait to hear how it goes
@GreenThumb: I didn't know that lining could be too thick? I thought that they wanted it nice and plump? Not sure about the cyst, but I would assume that it should mess up anything too much as long as it's small enough. Hoping you get some clearer answers soon. Do you have a follow-up appointment?
@jaguar: How is Olaf doing?!
AFM - dealing with a massive headache right now. Not sure if it is from the estrogen patches I started this morning or a horrible client I was at today (or both). I'm 4dp5pt and will wait until end of week to test, i think. I'm not even sure if I have any decent preg tests here at home. I keep feeling twinges and they were pretty intense on Friday afternoon (day after transfer).
persimmon / 1132 posts
@PurplePumps: Whoa! Happy news about your insurance and new benefits. They say good things happen in threes so ...
@GreenThumb: Did they think your cyst could be a remnant from stimming? I have learned that there are a lot of things that get labeled "cyst" down there. I had a remnant "bruised corpus luteum" on my first suppression check for my FET. The main RE called it a cyst at my saline sono and then my u/s RE called it a bruised corpus luteum (probably from overstimming). That was 3+ months after stimming, a period, and 2-3 weeks of BCPs. Anyway, it all turned out fine and didn't effect my cycle!
@NorthStar: Oh, oh, oh!!! Thinking of you and sending tons of sticky, implantation thoughts!
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: So excited for you!! Twinges are GOOD!! The nurse is supposed to call me today. I think the issue with the lining is that on CD 3 I should be shedding and it should be thin-ish and then building from here on out. But we'll see.
@Amorini: Hope you are well!! The nurse really didn't want to say too much about it. I'll have to push for more info today when she calls about the lab work. Its funny, after all the U/Ss I've had, even I saw it... and was like huh? even before she said anything. It is small, so hopefully it won't be a problem.
@PurplePumps: Awesome news about the parental leave! I'm sure you'll be able to put it to good use soon. I'm so excited for you tomorrow! Wishing you all the best!!
pear / 1986 posts
Well, apparently the blood work didn't show any issues which is great. I pressed the nurse pretty hard to see if they were concerned about anything but she was adamant that everything was ok. The cyst is outside the ovary and very small. She said that it was the thicker lining that triggered the blood work. Anything over 5 mm at baseline calls for a check. But I had only had AF for 2 days, so still shedding, I guess. Next check isn't until April 7th.
