@KittySunshine: Sorry about AF. I would go straight to an RE. They specialize in reproductive medicine and they may have different options for you. hugs to you. This is not easy.

@KittySunshine: I would contact an RE as well. I really wish that I would have done that last fall and am now approaching 2 years of TTC. Good luck in your decision!

When I had my ultrasound Monday on CD14, my follicles were pretty small, so the RE put be back on Clomid at 100mg for 5 days and told me to get another ultrasound next Monday, 7/20, so that they can schedule the IUI. Well, my CM is starting to look watery / closer to what it is like when I ovulate (sorry if TMI) and I just took a OPK (cheapy version) and it's positive. Unfortunately, I don't have any good OPK's here with me at work to verify that it's truly positive. I'll do that this evening. My gut is telling me that I'm going to ovulate before next week and therefore, miss the IUI. I've also never ovulated later than CD17, so to have the RE assume that it will happen next week has me a bit perplexed.

    What would you do?

@NorthStar: can you contact your RE? What would your options be?

@LoveHope: Yeah, I'll verify tonight and then maybe call tomorrow.

@NorthStar: yea, definitely call your RE! They missed my ovulation for my first iui and I was so upset.

@MrsKRB: Thank you! I definitely will! I'd be so upset if we miss the IUI considering how much I've paid for 3 ultrasounds this cycle. It's ridiculous.

For the ladies doing acupuncture.... Did O day change for you? My acupuncturist said that I may ovulate earlier now that I'm doing acupuncture (friday will be my second session). She wants to see me before I O. I usually begin testing with the OPK on day 12 but now wondering if I should begin earlier.

@LoveHope: I ovulated around the same time, but was always normal (except for this cycle!). But, you should be fine starting on day 12. When do you typically ovulate?

@NorthStar: day 16/17 usually. Ok well that's good to know

CD19 here, and I probably O'd either CD13 or 15, making me 5DPO or 7DPO. I barely slept last night, and have spent many hours googling low AMH. Thing thing that I don't understand is that I inadvertently did a femara challenge (did femara CD3-7) with FSH on CD11 and it was 6. I O like clockwork without meds. The women in my family have kids into their late 30s. My RE said that AMH can be damaged in shipping and sometimes be falsely low, but said it "won't go from 0.2 to something like 4." I did some reading about the autoimmune issues and am concerned that it's autoimmune premature ovarian failure, but the FSH confuses me. My previous CD3 FSH was 6 as well. I'm hoping it is falsely low due to low vitamin D. I'm asking him to recheck it. I'm trying to focus on the fact that we've made a ton of changes this cycle- DH's morphology only recently got up to 5%, I did femara, acupuncture (once) and metformin, just started treatment for high prolactin, hypothyroid, and autoimmune issues, as well as starting DHEA, melatonin, and L-arginine. We also had good timing. I keep thinking that if the prolactin were the only thing that was abnormal, that this would be so positive. Even if I get a BFP, the autoimmune issues scare me about miscarriage. Sorry to be a downer, I'm just having a really rough time.

I'm either 4-5dpo and woke up with my right boob sore. Its really odd for because I've never had boob pain even when I was pregnant with my first LO. But...not going to get my hopes up but can't help but symptom spot during the TWW.

@AmeliaBedilia: it's ok to feel this way-you're dealing with quite a lot. Sometimes it's the little changes we make that make all of the difference. We are all rooting for you.

I'm not sure why I haven't been getting update alerts for this thread. I've been thinking about you all tho! Fingers crossed for everyone who's still in for this month. And I'm sorry to everyone who's going to be joining me in August. I know we're all exhausted and ready for our BFP.

I had to get off FB again today. Disabled my account. One friend started maternity leave today and another had a gender reveal party. They're both having girls, which is what my husband is praying for (he already has a son). And both of those friends got married after me, which shouldn't make a difference but it does for some reason. Ugh. I'm so tired of this.

If I O soon, my next POAS day will be the first week of August. I'm on Femara this cycle but I'm not using the Ovidrel. So I'm not sure if I'll O soon. Last cycle I O'd on CD 12, which is today and I haven't gotten a positive OPK yet. Merg.

So sorry I've been MIA this week, I've been on the west coast for work and things have been crazy busy!! If anyone wants to update the list for me, please go ahead

Thinking about POAS on Tuesday... That's when AF would be late.

@AMommyThang: the TWW sucks so bad. I'm 11 dpo today I think? And every little feeling makes me think I'm pregnant.

@KittySunshine: I would find an RE too, and even more importantly, if you have options I would research thoroughly and get as many opinions as possible as to which doctor you choose. I unfortunately didn't have many options and have been thoroughly disappointed with over half of the different doctors/midwives/OBs I've tried. They're not all equally good, so do your homework ahead of time so as not to waste the initial visit fee (assuming this is all out of pocket).

@AMommyThang: Symptom spotting is the worst. For some reason this TWW so far I'm doing better. I think it's mostly because of the distraction of a busy new job, and because I don't really have any symptoms to spot (although that hasn't stopped me before!) So my only advice is to keep yourself busy and distracted! I'm much more relaxed this time. I'm 6 dpIUI here, so right around the same timeline as you.

@ms.line: @LoveHope: @NorthStar: @2farmmoms: Thanks for the suggestion about the RE everyone. I had been toying back and forth about going to an RE vs an OB for a long time and think I went with this OB only because my GP recommended them, but the method this particular OB uses is the Creighton Method. Meanwhile I feel like the RE pretty much has many different options that they use but they do not use the Creighton Method.

I think I've heard that Creighton Method often does a good job as far as solving a "medical problem" to the point that it can be helpful with insurance. My insurance will cover the diagnose of but not the treatment of infertility. How frustrating! Yes, we'll let you know something is wrong but after that you get to deal with it on your own. I suppose I should be thankful for what I can get.

But after hearing all of your posts I am definitely considering an RE. This particular RE has 25 + years experience whereas the Creighton Method OB has about 5 + years experience. I've read positive and negative reviews for both.

@AMommyThang: Now it's your turn to play the waiting game! Good luck to you!

@AmeliaBedilia: Hope things get better for you soon! I feel like it's about just taking one step at a time and it sounds like you've been taking many many positive steps!

@KrzyRiver: Thanks for the words of encouragement for those of us heading into August. I'll watch for you @ an August 2015 POAS post. FB is the worst sometimes! I've read just passively viewing FB can make a person depressed but actively contributing to social media (like this forum) can help!

  22. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@KittySunshine: I guess I'm ignorant on this - I thought the Creighton Method was just used to identify your fertile/non fertile times? Which you seemed to have nailed down already! Is there something more to it that actually "fixes" fertility issues? Does that OB do IUIs or any other ART procedures?

Since they have different approaches, I don't think it would be a bad idea if you saw both the OB *and* the RE, at least for an initial consult. You might get a better sense of which path feels best for you right now.

@KrzyRiver: I'm in the same boat. I completely off social media because I can't bare anymore pregnancy announcements. I actually got a baby shower invite in the mail yesterday but decided I'm not attending. I can't keep putting myself through this. Hang in there. We're here for you
My next POAS Date is beginning of August too. Hoping we get our BFP soon!

    pear / 1881 posts

@KrzyRiver: I completely understand about getting off of FB to keep your sanity! I had to unfollow one person because she announced her 3rd pregnancy on FB. She knew we were going through struggles, but yet, didn't tell me. Keep you head up!

I'm on CD18 and am taking my final dose of Clomid today. It's so weird taking it this late in my cycle when I've typically ovulated by now, but I need to trust my RE. We are BD every other day to cover our bases, just in case I ovulate prior to Monday's ultrasound. I gave up on temping, so I don't have that to fall back on.

Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

  26. KittySunshine

    olive / 50 posts

@ms.line: I am also pretty ignorant on the Creighton Method. I'm pretty much going off what I've read online, since it has taken so long to actually get in to see this OB. I agree with you, I feel like I've already been tracking with Fertility Friend!! I've heard some groups charge a lot of money to attend Creighton classes to learn about tracking your body and cervical mucus, but not sure if that will be what I will face or not.

From what I've read, a woman who is seeing the doctor I am seeing was Oing successfully but didn't have enough progesterone or cervical mucus. She went through laparoscopic surgery and was prescribed Pregnatude, FertilCM, vitamins and antibiotics to stop an infection killing her husband's sperm.

The problem I see is they don't have all options. They don't do ARM as far as I can tell from what I've read.

At this point I'm more just interested in trying to get an answer, any answer! I hate having to wait all the way until August 4 when I started asking into this back on June 10!! I like your suggestion of talking to both for an initial appointment. At first I was worried about cost, but I think that's more my husband's concern than mine. I hate not having any answers, options or plans!

@AmeliaBedilia: looks good! But this is exactly why I decided to stop temping once ovulation was confirmed. I always drive myself crazy analyzing every change in my temp. It's actually really helping, I'm not symptom spotting nearly as much as usual!

Hello everyone! Back from my work trip. Pretty sure AF is on her way unfortunately :(. I had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday and have been cramping. Only time will tell I guess.

I'll update the POAS list once I get on a computer this evening!

@sslm: Sorry about AF. FX it doesn't show.
@AmeliaBedilia: that's a nice high temp, FX for you!

I think I am 6 DPO, but my temps have been slow to rise, and then they jumped up. If FF ever confirms my O date, it wouldn't be for the date I think I o'd on. I was very warm this morning, I had to change rooms. Also I've been having the most annoying dry mouth the last few days. I had dry mouth as one of my very early pregnancy symptoms in a previous pregnancy, so that's encouraging. I'm not sure I'm going to POAS on my test date though, I might wait until the 31st or 1st of August. I'll probably know if I'm having another CP, but maybe not seeing the lines will help me get through it easier.

    nectarine / 2192 posts

@auggiefrog: Hoping dry mouth is a good sign.

Today I got up at my regular time and my temp is still high. It's not as high adult typically is at this time, but my temps have all dropped shortly after starting Cabergoline. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

    Finally updated the list!!

I am stuck in pre-AF hell right now. I know she's coming, I've had spotting, and my temps went way low... but she's not here. 15 dpo. Ugh.

@AmeliaBedilia: hope your temp stays up!!
@sslm: ugh. I have my fingers crossed for you still!!

I'm CD11 a very boring part of cycle. I won't O for at least another week. I'm still deciding whether I want to try this month or not. Both my losses have April due dates so I'm not sure how I'd feel if I did happen to get pregnant this month. I'm probably just being way too neurotic and really what are the chances of actually getting pregnant this month anyway? TTC sucks.

  35. KrzyRiver

    apricot / 276 posts

    @sslm: Sorry about AF.
@delight: I know how you feel. I've had two losses that we're due in July, so my husband and I have already decided that we'll never try to conceive around October ever again. Maybe it's silly, but we feel it would add an extra level of stress.

I'm on cycle day 16 today. O doesn't seem to be coming. I skipped the Ovidrel this cycle, and I've been super stressed this month. So I don't know if the Femara is going to help this time. But my cycles are usually a couple days longer than average, so it could still happen.

I just had an ultrasound and am on cd21. I had one follicle at 21mm and only one other that was over 10mm - it was 11mm. So now I wait to see what my re suggests. I was convinced going in today that I would have already ovulated, but looks like I was wrong. let's just hope this one follicle is the one!

  37. LoveHope

I saw an RE today for the very first time and I feel so much better to know that there are different options for me. She's going to run some additional blood tests so we can see if there's anything we're dealing with and then take it from there. I felt so much better talking to someone who focuses on reproductive medicine as opposed to my OBGYN. I'm currently on CD14 so I should be close to O. I have so much paperwork to go through tonight but it will be worth it hopefully.

  38. AmeliaBedilia

    @delight: Thanks!

    @NorthStar: Sending prayers!

@LoveHope: Glad your appointment went well.

Either 9 or 11DPO. Temp still up so much that fertility friend says I ovulated before my second thermal shift. I O naturally CD15, the two other cycles on Femara were CD14, and I've read cabergoline can make you O earlier, and can make BBT drop. Temp is still up. I'm hopeful but trying not to get my hopes up. I expect a phone call later this week about my repeat AMH and vitamin d level. My RE also suggested we monitor next cycle in response to the low AMH. I just don't think it's accurate- FSH is 6, I'm only 35, and I O like clockwork even with high prolactin. If we are going to monitor, it makes sense to do IUI, but I just started on the cabergoline and synthroid, so we don't want to use up one of the three IUI tries when my levels aren't fixed yet. With an AMH of 0.2 but everything else is good, how much do we need to rush? My gut is telling me that it's the elevated prolactin which has been the issue.

  39. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

RE office called but it was the dingbat. She told me results were worse, but really a tiny bit better at 0.27. (Still bad). She said he recommended IVF or IUI, then said he recommended IVF and when I questioned that based on earlier plan (recommended we monitor this cycle), she said he recommends either. I still just don't think that's a problem with only 35 and an FSH of 6. I asked about waiting for the cabergoline to work, and she said there is no note about that in my chart, and I don't want to do that since "you don't have much time" and "timed intercourse won't work." AF due later this week, so I took the first Monday appt and we will go and discuss it with him.

  40. NorthStar

    pear / 1881 posts

@AmeliaBedilia: oh man - I don't know what to recommend, but definitely go with your gut. If timed intercourse won't work, then why is he saying that an IUI will. My understanding is that the IUI doesn't provide a significant increase in success, but perhaps, I'm wrong in that?

At what point do you think you will test? I really hope that these high temps are due to being pregnant! Thinking of you..
