@LoveHope: Yay for seeing and RE and feeling more comfortable! I agree that it is a relief to have a game plan in place and working with someone who understands and knows the best path for you. Good luck with the paperwork tonight!

I caved and tested at 8 dpo. Of course it was a BFN. I just haven't been feeling myself at all a and I've been symptom spotting like crazy. I finally told my mom that we've been trying for a year and for whatever reason it made it all the more real. I have one more First Response and I hope I can hold back from taking it until Sunday or even Monday when my AF is actually due. There's been so many times where I've POS and two hours later AF showed, praying hard that doesn't happen this time around.

@LoveHope: Yay, so glad to hear you had a good appointment. Seeing an RE was really reassuring for me, too.
@AMommyThang: Fx for you!

My POAS date will probably be pushed out until 8/4. I apparently am ovulating a week later than normal and am doing the IUI tomorrow. I did the Ovidrel/HSG shot last night, so I need to give it some time to get out of my system..

Either 10 or 12 DPO. My temp continues to be up (now four days). I want to POAS, but I want it to be definitive, since my meds change based on the result- if pregnant I get to stop the cabergoline and if negative, I wean the prednisone. I'm thinking 7/24. I really think treating the prolactin will fix the problem, but this low AMH puts such a rush and damper on all this. If negative,I have an appointment with RE Monday for an ultrasound and we will discuss the plan. I'm really dreading the monitoring and IUI (particularly getting bad news since it seems like this whole journey is continual bad news). Anyone done the monitoring and have positive stories?

My RE is having me run the following blood tests:HBs AG, HCV core antibody, HIV 1/2, RPR, type & Rh factor and she suggested I get these done through my OBGYN'S office for insurance purposes. They'll cover a certain percentage as opposed to getting these done thru the RE's office. My OBGYN is saying that these tests are usually done when you become pregnant and is hesitant in ordering them. This back and forth is a pain in wazoo. Anyone get these tests done?
kiwi / 689 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I honestly have no idea...I really don't want to do unecessary blood work but there must be a reason they are asking me to run these tests.

@LoveHope: I can't recall if you've had any miscarriages? If so that could be the reason for the RH factor. Also, not sure the reasoning but the fertility center here does those same tests you listed as an initial batch. So there must be some reason for it!
kiwi / 689 posts
@sslm: I've never had a miscarriage before. I'm thinking the same. There must be a reason they run those. My OBGYN is hesitant but I'm following the RE's orders going forward. They know what's best.

@LoveHope: I had a viral screen and HIV 1/2 when I first started at my RE. I think if you're positive for any of those then you're immediately going to be categorized as high risk, and I think REs like to act sooner than OBs. I didn't have my type and Rh factor done until after I got pregnant, but I already knew mine anyway. The back and forth is annoying, but I'd just push your OB into getting them done now. One less thing to worry about after you're pregnant, IMHO.

@ms.line: thanks
Next step is an appointment with my doctor on Thursday. Going to push for CD3 bloodwork. And a referral to the fertility center.
The fertility center is so expensive though. I'm not sure if we're at that point yet.

@sslm: tell me about it! My insurance covers $1000 for me and $1000 for my husband for diagnostic testing related to infertility and I can see this is going to get expensive real soon.

@LoveHope: mine only covers the drugs up to $2400 in a lifetime and nothing else (tests, treatment)

My acupuncturist is wonderful but doesn't do much IF. She recommended this acupuncture guru who is 1.5 hours away. I was able to get an appointment on Friday which is rare since he is usually booked (yea for a cancellation). I'm going to see if he can develop a plan for my acupuncturist to carry out. It makes me feel a little better. That is my POAS day, so hoping it will be acupuncture for pregnancy instead.

@AmeliaBedilia: FX you can get a plan for your acupuncturist. 1.5 hours is way too much for me to be driving each week!

@auggiefrog: Thanks!
Temp was down a little- I checked my temp about 30 minutes early, and slept under a lighter blanket, so not sure if that's the reason. With Femara and cabergoline, my LP is expected to be 14 days. It's possible O date is wrong and it's really 13DPO. I am really dreading next cycle with monitoring and getting bad news.

@AmeliaBedilia: I'm really pulling for you and hoping the temps stay high! Try to keep your hopes up as much as you can. {hugs}
@LoveHope: You are lucky to get any coverage! We have absolutely no coverage at all, so everything is out of pocket. We've almost used up our HSA, so starting soon, we will need to dip into savings
I just finished my second IUI and trying to remain hopeful. My husband's numbers were great - 330M sperm count - post wash and concentrated, with a 70% mobility/motility. I forgot to ask about morphology.. Does anyone know if it's normal to cramp after? I cannot tell is it's my ovaries getting ready to ovulate or a cramping uterus..
nectarine / 2192 posts
@NorthStar: thanks. I haven't had an IUI (will probably have my first in the next few weeks), but I've heard cramping is normal. Take that for what it's worth. Good luck!

@AmeliaBedilia: I found monitoring to be extremely helpful. I have PCOS and don't ovulate without a lot of help. The monitoring was invaluable at helping to see how I was reacting to the meds. It also helped us realize that Clomid is not an effective medicine for me. And the great thing about monitoring is that if something doesn't seem to be working, your protocol can be tweaked. Unlike being sent off on your own with meds and figuring out a month later that it didn't work.

Can you all see that . its so faint on camera so I tried to make it easier . of course I'm testing 3 days early! I'm praying that on Sunday its way darker!! Oh my God please let this be it!!!

@AMommyThang: I think I see it!! How many DPO are you? Is it clearer in person?
cherry / 152 posts
@Ms.Line, its way darker in person. And I believe I'm 11 dpo. my app says I'm supposed to start Monday.

@AMommyThang: Yay, that's awesome! I bet in a day or two it will photograph great - congrats, mama!

@AMommyThang: Congratulations!
I'm either 12 or 14 DPO. Temp still high, so I tested and BFN. DH thinks there's still a chance since it could be early. After all the badness this cycle and the last two years, I just can't take any more bad news. I'm so scared that monitoring will be, "yup, hardly any follicles here, it's hopeless." And the meds make me a different Person, yeti need to stay on them until I'm pregnant. I feel so discouraged!

@Northstar, at 5 dpo my right boob was tender and I've been STARVING! But that's it. With my first I didn't have any symptoms but a light food aversion at night with chicken lol

@AMommyThang: I see it! Congrats!!
I just had my appointment with my family doctor and it went really well. She is going to run some tests to check for PCOS, and if that comes back "negative" then I will see her partner who has more experience with this stuff and can order an HSG and possibly start me on clomid.
If I do have PCOS then I will be started on metformin... (spelling?) If that doesn't work after a month or 2 then I will go see her partner who would try clomid.
She also ordered an SA for DH, so he's going to do that ASAP.
I feel really happy to have a plan, but kind of scared about what they might find...

@AmeliaBedilia: When does AF usually show up? And are you sure you didn't actually ovulate on CD20 or 21? I'm sorry about the BFN
nectarine / 2192 posts
@sslm: I usually O CD15 and have 11-12 day LP on my own, and The two other times I've done Femara, We think I Ovulated CD14 and 14 dayLP with Femara. I started cabergoline CD7 for high prolactin which lowered my temp, and started prednisone and synthroid about a week after O, which could have raised them temp, but it didn't jump until four days after the new meds.

@sslm: having a plan makes me feel great too! Sometimes having some help makes all the difference in the world!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@sslm: I understand about it is good to have a plan but afraid of results. That's where we are. I'm glad to know prolactin is an issue and we can fix that, but we found two other problems (NK cells and low AMH) I never suspected. I plan to ask RE Monday how likely all this will work and I am so scared of the answer.
