July 2017 POAS - Star Spangled.. Wondfo's?

I'm on AF spot watch now. I haven't told DH because I'm stupidly optimistic (every single cycle) and instead am thinking about how I would tell him. Now I wonder if I should POAS tomorrow before leaving on vacation, in the event I don't start spotting (again, wishful thinking)?

@knittylady: Can you put me on the tbd? I'm not sure when I will test this month since I don't know when I ovulated.

Yet another OPK newbie question: This morning I got a darker result but not quite positive, so I tested around 11:30 this morning hoping to see another darker line. It was light again :(. Is it normal for LH to waver like this before getting a positive OPK? Or is it more likely that I surged between 5:30pm and 5:30 am and I only caught the tail end of it?

    @chypmunk: @sunflowerbee: Welcome ladies! Glad you're here!

@Coral: same! The due date calculator website is bookmarked on my phone...

@LindsayInNY: I vote test if you don't start spotting! Then again I always vote test!

  13. Coral

@nanilani: Gosh. That's a tough one. You do you have any idea of what a true positive looks like for that brand? I usually just use Google images.

  14. nanilani

    apricot / 374 posts

@Coral: They're wondfos, so I think a true positive would be darker than this morning's test. It's hard to see in the pic, but the 5:20am OPK test line is not quite as dark as the control. It seems like LH was doing something, but surging overnight (5:30pm yesterday was clearly negative) seems unlikely, right? The timing seems off to me, but I'm new at this.

  15. Coral

    clementine / 874 posts

@nanilani: I gotcha. What CD are you and how long are your cycles?

  16. nanilani

    apricot / 374 posts

@Coral: CD33 and I'm completely irregular. Since AF came back after #1 was born, my cycles have been anywhere from 32 to 78 days long.

  17. Coral

    clementine / 874 posts

@nanilani: I know LH can have lots of "false starts" in a cycle where it gears up to ovulate and then doesn't. If you really want to be sure, you might bd once and call it good and keep testing. Unfortunately, opks can be more of a hindsight thing sometimes.

  18. nanilani

    apricot / 374 posts

@Coral: I was in the middle of googling multiple LH surges and the results were agreeing with that. I'm thinking this morning probably wasn't a true surge yet, but I wasn't really sure what to expect with my first cycle using OPKs. I'm not too bummed about the false alarm b/c DH is out of town until tomorrow so timing wouldn't have been ideal. Thanks for all the feedback

  19. Coral

    clementine / 874 posts

@nanilani: of course! There is definitely a learning curve but, once you figure them out, you notice your particular pattern. Like I tend to get my first positive OPK on either CD 12 or CD 16 and my OPKS stay positive for 2-3 days. Everyone is so different.

I think the spotting is starting. I noticed some brown. I kick myself for having any bit of optimism about this. I don't want to be all "woe is me" but I was really hoping this time around TTC would be different/easier/shorter...

@LindsayInNY: that is me every month with spotting - I'm sorry I found it really difficult when trying for #2 because I had hoped my issues were gone and they weren't. Hoping one way or another you see a bfp soon

Think we finished our scheduled bd for this month ... today was o+1 by opk but I still had ewcm (which I usually wouldn't) so I don't know. But I had kind of cramps yesterday around dinner so hopefully that was it. The beginning of the 2ww is the best time of the month for me - hopeful and too early for spotting!

    @knittylady: @bhbee: So. Me.
Yesterday I did take one test at (get this) 1dp5dt. 🙈 I mean it was literally impossible to get a BFP but I just really felt like it. Tomorrow I'll be the equivalent of 8dpo so I MIGHT test early since my natural pregnancies I got a squinter at 8dpo. But Monday is really my best bet.

@SweetiePie: ooh I'm excited for you! Maybe just cave a little and test Sunday

So I only had one dark brown splotch. Nothing since. I'm 10DPO (I think) today. I always spot on or by CD26, which is today. I don't want to get my hopes up though...

Here I am, late to the party as usual!

    Cycle Day: 20-21
TTC Cycle: 2 since we started trying again (miscarriage in Feb)
    Ovulation Date: June 27
POAS Date: Around July 10 if my luteal phase is longer than 10-11 days
    Baby #: 3
What's up this month: Nothing too exciting planned for July, just the usual working and parenting!

Got crosshairs on my chart this morning! Excited that it looks like I ovulated on my own on this first cycle off BC. Our timing seems pretty good. I'm the kind of giddy hopeful that comes with the first cycle TTC

Alright, I may be back on the July list for the end of the month! Let's see how soon I ovulate.

The labs are all back and they all point to it being a second abnormal uterine pregnancy. This is getting old, but, I need to get moving again. If I don't get pregnant by October I have to figure out if I change my grad school trajectory or dealy my TTC plans.

@MrsJBeeG: I agree!! I was telling DH that I've never been so happy to see AF in my life! It helps with closure now I feel positive and feel I can move forward and try again
