July POAS!!

Just checking in! I'm on vacation this week

So, I thought I'd post about my experience with acupuncture, since a few ladies on the June POAS thread were curious.

I had my second acupuncture appointment today (CD9), the first appointment was last Thursday. Both times the appointment started with chatting about my charts, my mood, stress levels, etc. Then she checks my wrists and palms and I climb up on a massage-type table. Both times she has had me lay on my stomach first, and did around 6-8 needles in my lower back and one in the insides of each ankle. Today, she also ran an electrical current through two of the needles in my back to help stimulate even more blood flow to the uterus. It just felt like a little tingling, like a small spot on my back had fallen asleep. After about 20 minutes laying on my stomach, with the lights dim and relaxing music playing, she comes back in, takes out the needles, and I flip over on my back. Both times I've then gotten a couple needles in my stomach near my belly button, inside ankles again, mid calf, wrists and one in the top of my head, and she also puts a heat lamp near my feet (although I think the heat lamp is more just for warmth and relaxation than to really do anything). Another 20 minutes of relaxing in the dark, and she comes in again to remove the needles and that's it.

I'm actually enjoying the appointments, they're pretty relaxing. I was really nervous the first time though, since I'm not a fan of needles. But it doesn't really hurt, some of the needles I don't really feel at all, and others just feel like plucking a hair, and once it is in you don't feel it at all. So I was nervous for no reason, a bikini wax is about a hundred times more painful!

I will say that it is pretty expensive though. The clinic I chose works with several of the top fertility clinics in the area, so they are highly recommended, but I'm paying $90 per session when the average rate in the area seems to be more in the $50-60 range, based on my research. But when I look at how much I've been spending on months of digital OPKs, the CBEF monitor and sticks, FertilAid supplements, and pre-seed, I guess I'm already invested in this baby-making thing! Hopefully it will help get my hormones in balance so I start ovulating properly. I'm giving it a couple months at least.

    Anyone else doing acupuncture?

Holy moly I think I got a positive opk on CD 7!! I don't have much CM so I think it still may be early for O just yet (last month I had two days of positive OPKs). Maybe we get in good time before DH leaves tomorrow.

Well I'm out!! AF just came.

I also found out my grandma died she had Alzheimer's and it was a long time coming but it still sucks.

My cycle was 26 days so I may be able to squeeze in one more cycle this month and test again at the end. Ill have to have an updated date later on this month.

I guess, yes, my cycles are short, 23-27 days but then I had a random 40 day one in there.

@T.H.O.U.: Looks like that top one is pretty close to +!

I didn't bother to test this morning. I have my normal pre-AF spotting and its getting heavier and heavier, so I expect AF sometime this afternoon or evening. *sigh* On to August?

@doxielove: boo to AF on the way

@BabyBoecksMom: Surprisingly no, it doesn't hurt. Most of the needles I don't even feel, but the ones in my ankle feel just like tweezing a hair, probably because the skin is thinner there. No real pain though, and once the needles are in you don't feel them at all.
