@boopers sorry for your loss
@sprite i just started acupuncture also, and while i have a huge fear of needles, i was surprised at how painless it was. really helped me to relax too. this cycle i went on cd 4, several days before o on cd 8, and going again during my tww on cd 24. my acupuncturist really only takes patients who are ttc and having some trouble and has a great success rate. it is also helping my stress a great deal!

@Boopers: I'm sorry for your loss. Hugs to you.
@doxielove: boooo AF. I'm sorry, lady. How are you holding up?
I had my HSG this morning, and the tubes are clear, so that is good. I also found out we can use this cycle if we want, instead of waiting until August. I'm not sure what we will do, because we haven't discussed it much. But if we do, I may have to give myself a POAS date. Scary and exciting at the same time!

@Sprite: Interesting. Thanks for sharing about your acupuncture experience. I had done it once before where a bunch of family members have gone for various reasons. I did not for fertility, but my cousin did, and went throughout her pregnancies. I really, enjoyed it. I moved though, so didn't get to keep it up and periodically look into starting again... but like you said, its not cheap, so I keep balking. You've got me interested again though, I remember it being very relaxing.

Ok, time for a new round of questions, post a thon style!
What is your favorite Pandora station (or song mix)?
What is one album you can listen to over and over?
...And most importantly...
What is your opinion of the power ballad?
*My favorite Pandora stations are Sara Barillias and the Zumba mix stations.
*I love Paul Simon's Graceland, Garth Brooks Double Live, and Sara Bariellas Little Voice ( I know I butchered her name)
*Most importantly, the power ballad is a lost art. I adore power ballads. My favorites are Hazy Shade of Winter and Total Eclipse of the Heart.
I'll update the list tomorrow (tonight is our anniversary) , so in the meantime....GO!

@LovelyPlum: Glad the procedure went well. How far into this cycle are you? I would maybe use it as a bonus cycle and just have fun?!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@T.H.O.U.: thanks! I'm at CD 7, so we could totally use it. I think fun is the name of the game this month. Or , at least, no pressure. HSG cycles are supposed to be good for getting pregnant, actually . Now the question is, will it help baby to stick??
Congrats on the OPK! Glad you caught it

@LovelyPlum: So glad to hear the HSG went well! And yay for potentially getting a go at it this cycle!
Hmm...picking one Pandora station as my favorite is hard, but I'm currently loving the Macklemore station.
I also agree, there are very few great power ballads these days. I need to dig up some old school Heart or Meatloaf to listen to! I also miss rock ballads from the 90s. I still have the "Buzz Ballads" cd that they used to have commercials for late at night on MTV, love it!

@doxielove Boo AF! Sorry, lady!
@lovelyplum Glad everything went well!
As for your questions, I find music questions the hardest to answer! I think my favorites change week to week! Currently:
What is your favorite Pandora station (or song mix)? Florida Georgia Line mix. I love country music in the summer!
What is one album you can listen to over and over? Hmm, Adele's 21, and John Mayer Room For Squares
...And most importantly...
What is your opinion of the power ballad? I love any song I can sing at the top of my lungs (off-key, unfortunately) in the car. I think that's why I love 21 so much!

@LovelyPlum: Yay on your HSG...good luck if you decide to try this cycle
@DoxieLove: Boo to AF!!!
Fave Pandora Station - Foo Fighters
One Album to listen to over and over - Right now totally obsessed with the new Daft Punk album
Power Ballads - Love them! My favs are Aerosmith "I don't want to miss a thing", Poison "Every rose has its thorn" and Motley Crue "Home sweet home"
What can I say, I'm a child of the 80's/90's

How do you guys get through the tww? I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, it takes forever!! I feel like I will be going through several tww's because our BD timing is never that great. I want to live as normal as possible but it's hard not to think about it. I really don't want it to consume all of my time. I think I'm doing better this month than last, and I haven't symptom spotted (yet), but as I get closer to poas date I'm sure I will. I picked up a book at the library for something to do to keep my mind off things on my down time and I think the holiday will help too! Staying busy is key, I think. Anyway, how do you guys get through the tww?
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Bao: The TWW is crazy! I am usually ok not symptom spotting but staying busy in general does help. I think also, I just like to try to pretend in my head that maybe I am and try to soak/savor/day dream it even though it may not be true.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@T.H.O.U.: I do that some days, but then other days I keep telling myself I'm not so that way I can't be bummed. I almost think it's easier for me to convince myself I'm not so when AF shows it's easier on me. lol that may not be all true though, it still sucks I wish we could just see inside ourselves to know!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Bao: Yes! It is crazy because either you are or aren't! I also try to think about the list of things I want to accomplish before #2 would arrive such as finish up LO#1's baby book, organize pictures, organize closets, etc.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@T.H.O.U.: that's a good idea too, do projects. We have a boatload of projects to do around the house!

Ok so my period was due yesterday so I tested and I was negative now it's late maybe and I woke up this morning with the most horrible heartburn ever. Not sure if its related or not but I'm out of town for a while but probably won't bother to test gain. I hate this madness!
cherry / 106 posts
@Bao: The TWW is so hard! I'm usually okay until about 11dpo when my temp starts dropping if AF is on her way so I way overanalzye every increase or decrease in temp. I try to read and stay busy, but at the end of the day I end up obsessing.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@anonysquire: don't give up until AF shows!
@AlmostMrsG: I don't temp so I guess that's one less thing for me to not have to over think I swear last month I had lots of symptoms but then AF came a week early. Oh the joys.
blogger / cherry / 179 posts
@Bao: that's exactly the way I feel! The tww is terrible for me, and like you said I don't want it to consume my life, however right now I feel as if it does! All I can think about is baby stuff and whether this month will be it or if I'm going to be disappointed...again. Once AF comes I'm just ready for O and then it's back to the tww again! I feel like I'm wishing my life away. This month has been better for me too though, I've been trying to stay busy and focus on doing this that I won't be able to do once I'm pregnant or a baby comes. It's definitely not easy though and I'm the worst at symptom spotting! Lol everything little thing means maybe I'm pregnant!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@CharityAnne: so glad I'm not alone though! But you're right, AF comes, wish O time would hurry up then wish tww would hurry up. Repeat.

@LovelyPlum: Glad the HSG went well! I understand your mixed emotions about going ahead with this cycle vs. waiting. Hopefully you and DH can come to a consensus. Also Happy Anniversary!!!
As for your questions: I don't usually listen to Pandora, but maybe I should. I was at a friend's house last weekend and she had some really good alternative type Pandora station going. I'm not sure about the album. Sufjan Stevens' Songs for Christmas is one of my top played according to itunes. I'll pass on the power ballads, but I do love to sing really loud in the car.
@Bao: I know, the TWW is awful. I think the best thing is to just stay busy. I have been beyond swamped with grad school this month and it has definitely helped keep my mind off things!
nectarine / 2134 posts
Fave Pandora station is definitely Mumford and Sons. Also can't go wrong w Daft Punk and Passion Pit.
@Bao: I'm only on my 2nd TWW but it's hard! Just staying busy with work, and having family around for the holidays has really help take my mind off things. And I can't have a test in the house otherwise I'm tempted to POAS really early!! Good luck with the wait and FX for a BFP!!

oh my gosh! SO much going on here. Good luck to everyone entering the TWW. I am so sorry to hear of a family loss as well. Sending lots of good thoughts. Glad to hear that luckyplum's HSG went okay! Bao- trying not to think about it too much- but it is HARD!

@Boopers: oh no, so sorry for you loss!
I think I'll be a rollover into August at this rate. AF is 8 days late but I got a BFN the other day. Currently CD40. My cycles are never this long...no clue what's going on.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@SupernovaJ: I'm sorry. I had a wacky cycle that was 40 days and it was nuts. Luckily things seem to be back to normal.
