@Springtime: Ummm that is definitely a line! Congrats!!

@pui: Awww I hope the synthroid regulates quickly for you!! ((Hugs))

So I'm 8 dpo according to ff, possibly 9 or possibly 2, & got a bfn this morning. Boo that! I'm trying hard not to read into anything but I had tons of symptoms already by this time last time! Ugh!

@runsyellowlites: Don't give up hope yet! It's still early! I got BFN at 8 dpo.

@pui: hang in there! Synthroid takes something like 3-4 weeks to regulate your thyroid, assuming it's the right dosage (which often needs to be adjusted at first). What dosage are you on? I started at 25mcg, retested my TSH after a month, then they upped it to 50mcg, and after another month my TSH was normal.

    @Springtime: congrats!

@runsyellowlites: I got a BFN at 8DPO, too! It was just too early!!

@Springtime: @MrsKoala: Thanks ladies! I know it's really early for a bfp.. I got my last at 14 dpo, but I think my biggest thing is my lack of symptoms, which I just keep telling myself every pregnancy is different!!!

Ok. OPK today definitely looked darker. Would you ladies say O is coming soon?

  11. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@luckypenny: I'm totally dumb when it comes to the OPK.. every single one I've taken as had some kind of line & when I got my "almost" positive the subsequent tests all were light again... I saw just start DTD now & don't stop till af shows or you get a positive hpt (ff says this too).

@Springtime: there's a line congrats mama I don't get my BFP til 11dpo on a cheapie and then went to get a FRER and got a faint positive and got a bfn with digital and didn't get a BFP on a digi til 14 dpo which was my first day of my missed period

@runsyellowlites: Don't give up it's still really early and I had zero symptoms with LO. I think I had more symptoms the months I wasn't pregnant

@pui: aw I know it frustrating but just hold on I have a little cousin going this this exact same thing and haven't had af since jan but was for some reason scared to go to the doc and just found out that was the cause a few weeks ago so keep your head up and I'm rooting for you and you at in my prays

  15. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@Bao: Thanks for the reminder! I totally "know" that, but it's hard sometimes not to focus on it!

  16. citymouse

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@luckypenny: The line closer to the pee side is the test line, so I would say that is a negative test, no LH surge yet. EVERY one of my FR OPKs pre-AF looked like this until I got a real positive where both lines are the same color. Could you try with a digital? We did Sperm Meets the Egg, EOD after AF until you get a positive OPK, and then 3 days straight.

  17. luckypenny

    grapefruit / 4582 posts

@runsyellowlites: @citymouse: we've been pretty good about BDing EOD . I'm just so anxious! lol I'll keep testing. FF says O is the 16th so we will see thanks ladies

  18. Honeygold89

    nectarine / 2527 posts

@runsyellowlites: I tested at 10dpo and got a bfn and like @Bao: said didn't even feel symptoms this month and even told DH the morning of 11dpo I didn't think it happened this cycle and when he left for work i went back to sleep and had a dream about getting a positive so thats what made me test again and to my surprise it was a BFP but the digi said no so I kept retested with cheapies after the first day of a missed af I took another digi and it was positive and that was at 14dpo so good luck and don't give up yet

So since AF came 8 days early this month, I'm assuming my O day will change dramatically, or is that not necessarily true? My app has me at an O date of June 26th but I don't trust it for some reason.

  20. citymouse

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@Bao: I ovulated a week late in March due to my first international trip, and it did change my next Ovulation date. It didn't change my LP tho, so the Cycle length was the same. Does that make sense?

  21. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@citymouse: so your LP was just shorter?

  22. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@Bao: my O date fluctuates monthly, so I almost never know when I'm going to O at the beginning of my cycle. Generally, it is in a range of 3-5 days, but I've also had months where it was weeks off. My LP is almost always 13-15 days, but the only way I know about O is checking CM and BBT. I find that one wonky cycle doesn't really impact the next one, though. I had a really long one over Christmas but the next was more normal.

I have no idea if that made sense or was helpful...sorry

  23. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@LovelyPlum: No it's helpful, thanks! CM usually gives me a good indication but with that I never know if it's before, after, during ovulation? a few days before? It's all so confusing!

  24. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@Bao: well, I am a freak, so don't take this as gospel-I get. CM every. freakin. day. Buut, normal people (ie, not me) typically get a clearish, slippery discharge in the few days leading up to O. I do, too, but for me, it can sometimes be hard to find it amongst all the other CM (sorry if that was way TMI). Still, it is there, and that is how I know I'm about to O-the quality of the CM goes way up.

I use Creighton Method to track, but I know lots of people here have recommended Taking Charge of Your Fertility-I think it talks about CM there (someone correct me if I'm wrong!)

  25. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@LovelyPlum: Yeah I get the ewcm for about 2-3 days as well as the pinching near ovaries but in relation to when O actually is, is my problem. Hopefully opk's will help pin point! What's Creighton Method?

  26. Sprite

@Springtime: Whoo hoo, I definitely see a line on your second test. Congrats mama!

  27. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@Bao: hopefully! I never used them, so.I'm no help there. I usually O a day or two after the ewcm stops. Bit, from my understanding, the CM actually can be helpful in getting pregnant-makes it more conducive for sperm, maybe? Not totally sure of the specifics. We usually use those days, or at least one of them, and then at least one after it stops.

Creighton Method is a model of Natural Family Planning. We have used it for 2.5 years (when I was last on bcp) to try to sort out ly crazy cycles. We really like it- I have learned a lot! It mostly tracks CM, so.it is not super different from what a morbid people do to try to get pregnant. We just have also used it to avoid for a while

@Bao: whoa, holy typos, Batman. Sorry about that...

    @LovelyPlum: gotcha, ok thanks!

  30. citymouse

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@Bao: Im sorry, not explaining it well. No. Nothing changed, so everything was just moved back a week. I O'd a week late, so everything else got moved back a week. My LP never really changes. 13 days on the dot normally. My FP fluctuates a bit by a few days or so.

  31. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

    @citymouse: alright thanks

  32. citymouse

    persimmon / 1116 posts

@Bao: I get EWCM for about 2-3 days before O as well! And I have some kind of CM every day like @LovelyPlum: does too. This last cycle, I O'd on May 21st. I recorded Fertile CM on 18, 19, and 20. I got my first +OPK on the 20th, in the morning, and another positive on the 21st in the morning as well.

@Bao: Last month I felt O pains and BD the day after (really about 36 hours after) and it wasn't a successful month for us. I believe that once I felt those pains I was out of my window.

The two months I had short cycles, FF did change my O date (basically right after AF ended, I was scheduled to ovulate) in order to accommodate a standard 14 day LP.

  35. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@luckypenny: I would definitely keep up EOD. If you see that line start to get darker, but still not positive, you may want to start using two OPKs per day just to make sure you don't miss it.

you ladies totally answered one of my questions regarding ewcm! i also didn't know WHEN you were supposed to BD in relation to seeing the ewcm. before it happens, during, after? all i had read was that ewcm helps facilitate the sperm to the egg - so i guess that's why most people suggest DTD a couple of days before ovulation (ie: time of ewcm), since sperm can live up to 48 hours in the body. i know everyone is different though and some may even have ewcm when they ovulate. it's just so hard to know what's going on in there!

Wow, this thread has been crazy active in the last few days! I am still catching up.

But, @Springtime: Woo Hoo! So exciting! And early... definitely making me itchy to start POAS sooner than later

Well ladies, I had my OBGYN appointment to discuss my painful periods. I explained that (in addition to my other TMI AF symptoms!) - her recommendation? "Take more ibuprofen." Gee, well, that's SUPER helpful since that's what I was ALREADY doing. Le sigh. Fertility/TTC talk was completely off the table for discussion - she said that if we've been trying for less than 12 months they won't even discuss testing/next steps. Irked me a bit - I didn't go there to talk about TTC anyways, but the fact that it was "forbidden" rubbed me the wrong way.

They did draw my blood to check my iron/vit D/thyroid levels. I have an ultrasound scheduled next week to check out the goods. So all in all the visit went 50/50 how I expected it to go?

@SupernovaJ: I agree, I've been TTC for 6 months now and I still feel like I'm not sure when the "ideal" time to BD is - before EWCM/during/after. So we just try to hit them all LOL.

@Doxielove: Sorry you didn't get any answers yet Separately, at my pre-TTC appt my Dr. said to switch to Tylenol/acetaminophen while TTC and pregnant (apparently ibuprofen has been linked to MC). Hope you get some answers soon and hope you feel better!

@doxielove: Lame, maybe try a new doctor? Also, NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen) aren't good to take while TTC... I'd suggest trying an ND if you're for it, they seem more willing to find the root cause of a problem instead of just throwing meds at the issue. Hope you get some answers soon!
