@NorCalWayfarer: @Mrs.Someone: Interesting!! I had no idea ibuprofen wasn't safe to take during TTC. You think my doctor would have said that instead of ENCOURAGING it, haha! @Mrs.Someone: What is an ND?
pomelo / 5228 posts
@doxielove: ND = naturopath, sorry I forget its not a common term As for the NSAIDs, they can prevent you from releasing an egg, even though your body may think that it has happened.

@doxielove: oh my gosh that sounds so frustrating. It sucks when a doctor doesn't take your concerns seriously. I had an OB that made me feel foolish at my most vulnerable time.
And the ibuprofen thing...wtf?!?! That's disturbing.
The good news is, now that you've learned that ibuprofen can be bad while ttc, maybe you'll stop taking it and get a bfp!

@luckypenny: I would say coming soon but can't tell how soon. Mine are noticable but light leading up to O, dark for O and then nearly white post-O!

@doxielove: seriously, that's it?!! I mean, when I have horrible periods, all I want is Motrin. But if you're really concerned, that does not seem to be a caring response. I hope that your ultrasound goes well. I agree, though, if you're uncomfortable with the appointment, it may be worth it to seek a second opinion!

@doxielove: I'm sorry your appointment was so frustrating. Is your doctor typically understanding? It can be so hard to find a good doctor that you click with.
Not much going on over here right now. I am trying to get an appointment to discuss having a laparoscopy for endometriosis, but the office can't get me in until August. I'm crossing my fingers for a cancellation before then. The good thing about being a rollover is I'll get to have a glass of champagne at an engagement party this weekend.

Have to catch up later (on mobile) but just wanted to pop in with my bfn at 9 dpo. I broke out my frer too bc it's more sensitive than the dollar tree one. I *thought* I saw a shadow but pretty sure it's just cause I wanted to... Not even squint worthy. Boo! I know it's still early though!

@runsyellowlites: Hang in there!
I have officially been feeling like crap over the past couple days. Either I am going to mimic @doxielove and have the worst AF ever! Or, I might end up with a BFP. It is really hard to tell for me at this point, but it does seem kind of odd that my bbs have been incredibly achy and my gums are crazy bleeding from brushing my teeth, which both generally never happen. Either way I guess I will figure out something this weekend... My hopes are for the BFP, because if not then I might schedule myself an extra trip to the dentist.

@doxielove: That sounds so frustrating :\ I'm really happy my doctor saw my stupid long cycles as reason enough to get checked out, I was really worried that he would just say to try another 6 months. I hear a lot of doctors are like that.
I hope the tests they did do yield some results for you.

@doxielove: Wow! I'm sorry that she was so dismissive of your concerns! That is terrible. Have you considered changing doctors?
pomegranate / 3580 posts
@doxielove: so sorry to hear about your appointment not going very well. *Hugs* I echo what others have said, maybe get a second opinion if you don't feel comfortable. I hope everything gets figured out quickly and that your pesky AF situation gets better!

@Bao: Hm, that second site re: OPKs makes me feel a little better about this month! Thanks
pear / 1974 posts
@doxielove: That's terrible - 12 months is a long time! I can't believe she wouldn't even hear you out about TTC. Do you ever think about changing your OB? TTC is stressful enough even with a very understanding, open OB like mine, she validated my concerns and was so open to being more aggressive so I can get pregnant sooner rather than later, but to have someone who is so dismissive in your corner... I don't know. I'm sorry it didn't go well.

Congrats to all of you who already got BFPs!!
@doxielove can you update me to POAS tomorrow, June 14?
I'll be 11dpo tomorrow and real queezy today and sharp pains in lower abdomen (very diff than pre af cramps) so FX!!
I have to admit I did poas 8 and 9dpo and got super duper faint positives both times, but I did have an HCG trigger this month so trying not to get my hopes up and held back from testing this morning.

@chibee: @fussygal: @MrsKoala: @pui: @mrs. 64: @LovelyPlum: @AuntieEm: Thanks for the support, ladies. After I left the office I thought to myself, "well, maybe I am crazy?" I am sort of kicking myself for not standing my ground more and demanding more attention to the issue at hand.
@chibee: This, exactly! I just want someone in my corner. Dismissive is the exact word I was looking for. I am definitely considering changing OB's after this fiasco. One of my friends has a recommendation for me, and I may try her out for my annual in September. Maybe at that time, 10 months TTC, they'll give me a bit more support
@pui: Me too! I'm not even sure when I'll get the blood results. The tech who took my blood wasn't sure, and I couldn't go back and ask the Dr because she was with another patient already. Guess I'll ask on Tuesday when I go in for the ultrasound!
@MSBartlett: FX you don't end up with the AF I just did, haha!
@runsyellowlites: It's still early! Rooting for your February baby
@mrs. 64: This is actually the first time I've seen the actual OBGYN. (For every annual since I started going at 18, they've stuck me with a nurse practitioner). If you don't mind me asking, how did they diagnose your endo? Did they see it on an ultrasound? I'll keep my FX for an office cancellation so they can fit your lap in
@Mrs.Someone: Ahhh ok, good to know! I haven't considered an ND prior to this - I'll have to check out to see if I have any in my area!

I'm pretty sure this is a positive OPK! I told DH to come home early so we can BD!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@luckypenny: Im not sure I would record that as a positive yet but I would certainly get busy because you are close.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@luckypenny: I agree with T.H.O.U., its very close but not quite there yet. I'm guessing that you'll get a full positive tomorrow, or maybe even later today. But definitely get busy, O-2 and O-1 are the most probable days to get knocked up!
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@T.H.O.U.: @Mrs.Someone: I'm confused! Isn't a darker test line a positive?
pomelo / 5326 posts
@luckypenny: looking at the picture is the test line on the left or right? If its on the left I agree that it's not positive yet. Getting close though so like PP said, make sure to BD because you're likely still in the fertile window!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@luckypenny: Oh, is the line on the left the control and the right on the right (towards the tip) the test?
I had it backwards, but yes, if the line on the right is the test then that is definitely a positive!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@luckypenny: Hah, I'm so used to looking at these in one direction, that the control line is always to the right for me. If the right one is the test line, then yes, its positive! Sorry for the confusion
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@Mrs.Someone: @T.H.O.U.: @delight: haha these darn tests!! Thanks ladies!! Eek! I'm exited
pomelo / 5326 posts
@luckypenny: haha sorry I had to go look up the FRER instructions. You're right, test line is at tip so I change my response and say its positive Good Luck!!
pear / 1974 posts
@doxielove: I am definitely for switching, you want to come out of a dr's appointment feeling hopeful, not dismissed! But hey, maybe by September you won't even need TTC advice!
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@doxielove: yay! I think I can just squeeze a POAS into June now that I have positive OPK
put me down for June 28 please. I also agree you should get a new doctor. You definitely want someone to be supportive and understanding not dismissive! Ughh I hate finding new doctors but I think it's definitely worth the hassle. Good luck!
nectarine / 2134 posts
@doxielove: Definitely think you should seek out a new doctor. Don't be afraid to go to a few until you find one you like and who is responsive to your concerns. I've been to several before I found my current dr who I LOVE. I was so sad when I switched insurance and can no longer see her Good luck!

@doxielove: I've been away from the computer for a couple of days and only just caught up on your appointment. How frustrating! I hope you get some answers soon!

No real update from me - had my positive OPK two weeks ago but think I'm going to wait a couple of days and see if AF arrives before testing. Feel very crampy so pretty sure it's not our month.
