Backstory: with our son it took 6 months trying and now this is my sixth month trying so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is my lucky number!
Game plan: stay hydrated, bd often around o time, take mucin ex and be active and eat healthy!

@Marfi: Are the tests you are using all from the same batch (like wandfos)? Maybe its a false negative?
clementine / 794 posts
@Crystal: All of the ones that I have taken recently (Last 2 weeks) have been wondfo's from the same batch. I had FRER that I used around my original test date but I haven't had any since then.

@MrsMcD: yay! I'm so glad you joined. I was afraid you would strike and be mad at me for turning things in their head. I'm glad you all like the thread. Septca did such and awesome job! Hostess with the mostest.
@intotheocean: welcome! I'm on 6 too.
Guess who is SOoo close to getting a positive OPK!!??! THIS is why I love wondfos and the ability to test more than once a day. The one at the top is from this morning and matches yesterday's, the one on the bottom is from just now. Should hopefully be positive tonight or tomorrow morning which is awesome because it means I'm not ovulating THAT late, just a little late.

Cycle #: 6
TTC #: 1
POAS date: 6/4-6/5
Backstory: My DH and I are TTC our first. We've been married for 1 1/2 years and last summer we decided we wanted to start our TTC journey. We've had some life stressors since last summer. We purchased our first home, however it needed a lot of renovations and that kind of delayed our TTC journey. I am counting our TTC journey has 6 cycles so far…however I'm not counting a few months since September when we started to try. During those months we were "trying" but didn't really have time to "try" unfortunately. We went to the doctor to make sure everything was okay because for the solid months we've been trying, nothing has happened. They did an ultrasound and hystero-salpingo contrast sonography (most painful procedure in my life…almost fainted in the office!) Pretty much they told me nothing is wrong except that I have a retroverted uterus…so I need to relax and go with it!
June TTC plan/something new you want to try: We tried pre-seed lubricant and I've been taking vitamin B6 along with my prenatal. Husband takes a multivitamin. We've been using a meditation app almost every night to try to relax. Trying to eat healthy and stay hydrated. Oh, and my sister is a labor and delivery nurse and she told me to try to BD doggie style because she knows people who had good luck with that! Hey, I'll try whatever!
Best thing about your weekend: Memorial Day weekend was spent with my entire family…parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins. I have a large family and love being around all of them.

@septca: Thank so much for making this a whole month long support thread rather than just a POAS thread for one month...AF for me is in the first few days of the month, so I always feel "out" almost as soon as the thread is started!
Cycle #: 8
TTC #: 1
POAS date: 6/4/14
Backstory:
-We saw an RE this month after 7 months TTC because both myself and my DH have some issues that were were concerned could be causing a problem (me: thyroid issues; him varicocele). We're working on the thyroid issues and DH's SA was normal except for low morphology (but our RE is not particularly concerned based on his parameters). I had an ultrasound to look for antral follicles, AMH, FSH, E2 levels drawn -all are normal. I'm having progesterone drawn this week. So we're hoping we just need more time!
June TTC plan/something new you want to try:
-BD e/o day after AF until +OPK then every day until post-O (we were successful at this in May...here's hoping!). Keep up the new hopeful attitude after RE visit.
Best thing about your weekend: I had the three day weekend off! This hasn't happened in several years.

@Crystal: So it looks like my batch (Lot: W00130174-3 Exp: 01/2015) is a bad batch however everything that I have found shows that it gives false positives not false negatives.

CD: 26/10DPO
Cycle #: 14
TTC #:1
POAS date: 5/30
Backstory: I had normal CD3 labs back in December. Trying progesterone for possible LP deficiency- this is cycle #2 of progesterone. DH was supposed to get a SA in April, but recently opened up a business and can't seem to manage a SA during hours a lab is open. We JUST had a fight about this so I'm a little bitter. On a more positive note, I am in the last three weeks of a very stressful job, and then get two months off before starting a job that should make me much happier.
June TTC plan/something new you want to try: We'll see how this cycle turns out- I'll POAS and then stop progesterone if I get a BFN. If DH doesn't get the SA, I might just give up the progesterone and take a month off TTC- so frustrated.
Best thing about your weekend: I got lots of stuff done around the house including most of the decorating on one of the extra bathrooms. I ran 3 miles (getting back in shape) and took my adorable niece (a mini me) to the pool.

Thank you @raindrop!
@sapphire our poas date is the same. My DH and I are getting blood work done tmw morning to make sure our levels are okay. My DH also has varicocele and we are waiting for the SA results. Good luck to you and *baby dust*
clementine / 794 posts
@Crystal: Yea, I'll probably get one tomorrow or Thursday after work. Most likely Thursday as we are going for dinner at my patents tomorrow.
nectarine / 2173 posts
@nicolechris11212: ha, our stories sound pretty close so far! Good luck with the testing! We were both WAY nervous about the SA results, so thankfully it was okay news so far.

@sapphire: My DH has a morph issue too. His is at 8% and my obgyno didn't seem bothered at all. Do you mind sharing what your DH's percentage is? Is he doing anything about it? My DH sort of just started taking fertility blend for men. I hope it works!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@nicolechris11212: We are nearly POAS twins! I'll probably wait until June 4 if AF doesn't show before then.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@sapphire: and @nicolechris11212: How did you girls find out your DHs had varicocele? Did they go see urologists? I'm wondering if my DH has something that causes his low morphology other than his chewing tobacco! (Ewww... he played baseball.... no excuse... but sort of.)

Cycle #: 7
TTC #: 1
POAS date: 5/31 maybe or 6/2
Backstory: First couple of months our timing stunk. DH travels a lot, and it ends up being during fertile week more often than not! I only have an lp of 10 days so thankfully my doctor ordered a progesterone test this month even though it's only been 6 months and we are 26/27. I'm taking it today actually since I'm 5dpo! Excited to see what's going on,bc I hear lp deficiency is an easy fix.
June TTC plan/something new you want to try: IT'S MY BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!!!
apricot / 278 posts
@sapphire: Thank you. Blood work is done for both of us. My follow up appt with my dr is next Tuesday to review everything. I know, we are way nervous as well! Trying to keep calm!! Good luck to you!
@mrsmcd: we are POAS twins!! I'm going to wait until June 4 as well. Hoping AF doesn't show up for either of us!! And my husband did see a urologist. Sometimes your OB/GYN can give DH a script for a SA. But I figured I'm getting fully checked out, so should he! They did an ultrasound in the office and told him he had varicocele. He then gave him a script for a SA to see if the varicocele affected the spermies...sometimes it does but sometimes it doesn't! Good luck!!
nectarine / 2173 posts
@MrsMcD: My DH has known he had a varicocele since he was a teenager (it is visible) so after 5-6 months of TTC we asked our PCP to refer us for a SA. The morphology is 2%. Our RE said that she sees plenty of men with these numbers (as long as count and motility is OK) conceive naturally so at this point she did not recommend intervention. DH is taking FertileAid (no idea if this truly helps, but I figured it's reasonable for him to take a multi-vitamin anyway. For our lab, the cut off for normal morpho is 4%, so I would suspect with your 8% that it wouldn't be much of an issue!
After my progesterone test tomorrow, the current plan is to wait until 12 months TTC before seeing again (but thankfully we now have all the labwork and testing done except an HSG - we have no reason to suspect problems there, and it's more expensive than other tests so we didn't go that far).

@MrsMcD: Good to see you, lady. I missed you.
@Crystal: I am sorry you are having a hard time this month. ((hugs)) But I am *so* jealous of you ladies that have the summer off. That sounds divine.
@nicolechris11212: Welcome! I totally agree about the hystosonogram. I have had two and the first was the most painful thing I have ever experienced (*far* worse than unmedicated childbirth). How are the renovations on your house coming? I would love to re-do an old house, but that just isn't in the cards for us - DH and I do *not* do home projects well.
@sapphire: I am so glad you like the new format. I think it's better in that it provides more of a place for support rather than a deadline-driven experience.
@AmeliaBedilia: I am so sorry. I really don't understand why men can be such duds about testing. Feeding the geese and giving a sample is a day at the beach compared to the poking and prodding and needle jabbing that we have to go through!
@dc yoga bee: Hi, friend! I am glad to see you back. Any word from FL?
For those of you waiting on an HSG... is it just a cost barrier?
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@septca: I wish I had the summer off!
I can work up to 80 hours over 6 days a week- I regularly work 60 hours, though. I worked my last weekend day til Fall, but I'm still here FT. Its nice that I rarely have to work outside my 40 during the summer.
Thanks for the love.
How is everyone doing today?
We come up on our one year of trying next month, and I am getting nervous about insurance coverage. I am thinking of making a few preliminary phone calls this week in case we have to go down that path.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@Crystal: Ouch. Well enjoy your summer 40!
It wouldn't hurt to make some calls and look into your insurance situation - just be aware that you might get a wrong answer from calling the company. You might have better luck asking your doctor to run the charges for what you want done to see what it would cost. You might also be able to get some good information from your insurance plan brochure. Mine is actually pretty clear and organized (shocker!) for what is covered for IF (all diagnostics, no meds or treatments...).
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@septca: does all diagnostics include progesterone testing under our insurance do you know? My doctor said she has no clue if it's covered since its. An IF test and we've been trying for 6 months.... we have bcbs fed basic.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@dc yoga bee: Everything I did was covered... CD21 bloodwork (P testing), ultrasound, HSG, laparscopy. NOT covered are IUI and IVF procedures and the associated meds.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@septca: Good deal. I told dh we'd pay out of pocket so it'll be a treat if covered.
Confession: my stylist did my haor a week ago and saw me yesterday a and was looking at my hair and scalp to see how's it going. She was super shocked at the growth and said it grew a quarter of an inch in a week. My hair usually grows super slow. I wondered, "maybe I'm pregnant! " silly girl, Its only been 5dpo. Well 4dpo yesterday when I saw her. Wishful thinking...
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@dc yoga bee: Have you been taking your PNVs? That will do it on the hair growth (and nails!).

Cycle #: 9/10
TTC #: 2
POAS date: TBD
Backstory: Got pregnant with my son after 3 months of trying. Got my period back right when he turned 1 (Aug), even through nursing 6-7x a day and have been trying pretty much since Aug/Sept of last year. At first my cycles were very long (40-50+ days) and my LP's were almost nonexistent (3-4 days). I started taking Vitex a few months ago and cut nursing back to just 3-4x a day. LP's are longer, cycles are more regular - but still no BFP.
I just saw a Dr this AM to discuss things and, unfortunately, as I expected, she told me my next move would be to wean, try for 3 months, and then come back in for testing. She did take a blood test to check my prolactin levels, but I'm pretty sure I know what the results will be. I'm kind of gutted and lost at this moment...just really unsure of what to do next.
June TTC plan/something new you want to try: Unsure right now.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@septca: nope! I stopped actually. Haven't taken them in months. I know I know....
The only thing I'm doing differently is drinking more water, and peeing all day. Speaking of which, are you supposed to limit water intake for the CD 21 test?
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@Keppa: ((hugs)) I am so sorry. I know there have been a few other threads on this lately and you've heard my story. It is really hard to wean if you feel like you aren't ready. I couldn't responsibly (for my health) have a period, not be pregnant, and not be on BCP, so I chose to wean. But it was *not* an easy decision. I am sorry you are in this position.
honeydew / 7295 posts
In the office now waiting for my endometrial biopsy. They will also be doing an ultrasound and thyroid bloodwork. Doctor has been very nice. She said we should wait until one cycle of full weaning to do hormonal bloodwork.
I'm wondering if any of you know if this biopsy can hurt ovulation? She said should be fine so long as I haven't already ovulated and its pretty clear that I haven't.
Hope all is well for you too @keppa
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Disclaimer, I am not a doctor. But it seems weird that they would do an endometrial biopsy so close to O. Anytime I have had things through my cervix I have been on pelvic rest for at least a few days because of the high risk of infection. But in terms of affecting O, no I have not had that experience - O'ed right on time after my lap and after my HSG.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Keppa: your update came in as I was typing! I am so so so sorry sweetie. Do you have a history of any issues? If not then it might not be bad to hold off a little longer on nursing and continue tweaking. In my case I just don't have time on my side with my age and other factors. No matter what you decide o do you have full support over here!
honeydew / 7295 posts
@septca: thank you! I will ask them about pelvic rest. That would suck so close to O
