I am 100% sure that moving my DD to daycare is the right thing to do for our family, but it is so sad to say goodbye to our wonderful nanny. She cried, I cried.

When my last family I nannied for & I parted ways it was emotional for everyone. We keep in touch though, we go on lunches, text & are friends on Facebook. That helps.

I was so sad to leave R's teachers but really the new school has been good for the whole family.

I was so sad to leave J's daycare lady when we had to move. She had spent almost more time with him than me since he was born. But he didn't seem to mind (given he's too young to) and we're connected with her via FB and are inviting her to his bday so I hope to keep in touch.
