Its interesting to read some of the responses from the four women that were part of the Time magazine article on attachment parenting and extended breastfeeding.

I like that they kinda say they didn't set out to breast feed a 3 year old it just kinda happened that way by taking it a day at a time.

Interesting to hear that the cover photo was an outtake. I still find it weird that attachment parenting is a "thing" with a label. I had never heard of it when my first was a baby and didn't realize I was doing it. Just taking care of my baby...

What a great article! So much better than what they put in Time magazine...
I live by the quote "Take the philosophies that resonate with you and leave the rest". To me attachment parenting is just that, a philosophy, most of which resonates with me. I took the stuff that worked for our family and left the rest.
It's too bad that the Time article might scare some families off, because there are pieces of AP that can resonate with so many people!

@Mrs. Jacks: Exactly. The article was so sensationalized! Any good or interesting ideas were totally eclipsed by the controversial photos.

@Mrs. Cat in the Cradle: I was shocked that the photo they used was an outtake. If I was the model, I'd be pissed! Just goes to show why I like to be in charge of my own content!

@Mrs. Jacks: It is distressingly common for photographers to casually try and take a posed shot (or one with a prop) that they intend to be a cover photo (if the shot turns out well). A quick example:

When doing press, a lot of companies will send along a PR guy to a photoshoot just to kibosh these sorts of pictures!

Interesting article. I was most surprised that they didn't pay her at least for her time. That's terrible.
