I noticed PBKids is having a clearance sale on backpacks and I realized she will need a new one for K next year. I'm not sure what size we may need though. I believe they will carry a binder and a lunch box but no toys or things like that. I dont want it to be so huge she can't carry it. Anyone have suggestions or pictures of what they have purchased?

@T.H.O.U.: I feel like different schools will have different requirements. Maybe email the secretary and see if they can give you this year's k kindergarten supply list? I know ours included the size of the backpack.

@T.H.O.U.: ours said "large backpack" so I got the large one from PBK - it was too large! We used it but it looked kinda funny on him! lol

My DD has carried the same "small backpack" from PBK for two years. She's in 2nd grade. It fits a binder and her library books.

We have a Lands End one for our Pre-K kiddo (with a binder and lunch box). It's the ClassMate Medium (•18"Hx12 1/2"Wx6 1/2"D. 1670 cu. in.)

@T.H.O.U.: DD has the bigger one from PBK and its too big. But she liked it better so we went with it. Super well made and durable, she used it all through K and now in grade one too. We also have the matching lunch box that is in its second year too.

Ooh, thanks for the heads up on the sale - I snagged a lunch bag and backpack for DS when he starts preschool in the fall!

She uses the "large" PBK one for K. It's not too big, but she is very tall so I guess it depends on your kiddo's size. You wouldn't want the backpack to overwhelm them!
